We'll be staying there fairly soon and wondered if anyone had been there recently? Have not been there since the remodeling, but they had a wonderful deal on TravelZoo which we took advantage of. Thanks. Caroline

Caroline -- hope you and Tony have a great trip! We won't get back until October :( Say 'hi' to Figment for us.

We're staying there in less than a month. Been checkin out tripadvisor and the reviews have been pretty good a couple had photos that looked just like the website to be honest. I think it's probably pretty quiet at the moment cos it's not that long opened, because of this it takes ppl a little while to be brave enough to book and equally many ppl book months in advance. You may have to wait a little while for a trippie from there.

Fingers crossed it's as good as it was 2 yrs ago, but more shiny :wizard:

We were there in June 2004 and thought it was great. We also took advantage of a great deal on travelzoo at the time. The only problem we had was the sliding glass door leaked during an especially hard rain, but I'm sure all that has been solved with their remodel.

I remember at the time, there were some extra things their customers were able to do because of their close association with Disney (e-ride nights in particular which, I have been told, is no longer available.) You may want to ask, though, because ther may be something good.

We loved the hotel though and the bathroom is very large. There is also a huge jacuzzi bathtub which was a ton of fun for the kids and housekeeping kept bringing different rubber duckies. The kids had so much time and it was a joy to have them clean (and clean-smelling) during the florida heat. :hippie:

In fact I am trying to find something I saw the other day. It was 3 nights, 2 disney tickets for $249, each additional night was $75. But now I can't find it anywhere.

Ok, we are there now - what a wonderful place!!! From the people at the front desk who are incredibly friendly and helpful; to the valet gentleman Rashid and Jack; to the waitstaff in the breakfast room ( we had the free full breakfasts included with the TravelZoo promotion); the housekeeping staff who keep this place immaculate - we have been extremely pleased!! :thumbsup2

The renovation looks wonderful, the rooms are very attractive and large - our bath has a large walk-in corner shower, and jacuzzi tub; and even though our room faces I 4, you would never know it because you can 't hear any traffic. The swimming pool is large and there is a hot tub/jacuzzi - a pool bar is adjacent.

I have not stayed here in 20 years, so it was most enjoyable to have another chance to see the place. Anyone coming here should be very pleased. :sunny: Caroline

We stayed there this year, after renovations, and really enjoyed it. The rooms are really nice, and had plenty of room for our 5. The beds were wonderful and there was a sofa bed for our son. The bathroom was nice but they didn't replace all of the fixtures in the bathtub with new ones but that really doesn't matter. It had plenty of room and the tub was nice and large. We did have a room in the tower. And we also had one meal there, late in the evening, and it was good. We didn't use the transportation as we always drive to the parks so I can't comment on that. We would stay there again. I think they recently had some really good rates through mousesavers.com.

This hotel was just on our local news tonight because the news had a report on the upcoming Gay Days event in Orlando that starts this week (they said it's the "official" hotel for Gay Days), and it looked VERY nice after it's remodeling- it's always better to hear from someone who actually stayed there though because the pictures don't always tell the whole tale! :teeth:

Thanks for the review, glad you found everything to be ok. Only 3 weeks til i'm there!!! Do they still have the little rubber ducks or have they gone with the remodel? :flower:

My family of 3 will be staying at the RP for one night. Took advantage of the
travelzoo offer, also. Will have a deluxe tower king. Do the rooms have balconies and how was the breakfast buffet?
Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay!! :flower:

Hi Donna- we had a 5th floor tower king, yes there are balconies but not wide enough to go out on - in fact, their slider only opens a few inches- a safety factor i am sure!
The breakfast buffet had these choices: hot oatmeal and cold cereals, pancakes or waffles with hot syrup; bacon, sausage, hot omelets all made up; mini-bagels, croissants, danish of all kinds; yogurt with different toppings; and a few other choices which i can't remember. There were pitchers of juice and coffee for each table. It had much to offer. You could go back as much as needed.
There is a Disney store in the lobby, a real miniDisney store; a small gift shop with small food items etc., a great front guest service desk with all the local attractions etc. I think you could find most everything there. Caroline :thumbsup2

Thanks, Caroline!! That's just what I needed to know!! :sunny:
