Hello, my mom just contacted me and said that she wants to take her grandson to Universal to see the Harry Potter attractions. She lives in Florida, he will be visiting from Minnesota. She is wanting to stay on site if not too cost prohibitive. Does anyone know of any discounts that might apply for such a short notice stay? They would be staying one or two nights around June 23rd. Thank you very much!

if it were me, i would call the UO booking site and ask them what discounts for the deluxe hotels are available for your dates.
they can give you the FLO, AAA, AP, etc rates for you to decide what is acceptable for you

if having the express pass is not necessary, there are two other onsite hotels that are cheaper than the deluxe hotels
(Cabana Bay and Sapphire Falls but they don't open until later in July this year)

and then you have the 3rd party vendors that you can consider to book with.

i don't use 3rd party vendors when i booked for the darkside.
hopefully, someone that does, can guide you with that info.

Thanks macraven! I agree with you about the third party vendors in this case. I wouldn't want to recommend that course of action to mom and have something go wrong.

I've been checking prices that week for several months now, and the best I was able to find was $335, and it's probably closer to $350 now. I guess they don't need to discount summer prices much, if at all. Note: I didn't check FL resident rates since I don't qualify.

It is really short notice for the florida residents rate to be left available. I did a check and don't see any discounts online. The code for Florida Residents discounts is FLO. It is certainly worth giving them a call.
