We'll be there next weekend so I'm curious on how this weekend looks like...
Thank you!

was there over easter but did not dare enter the parks. We went to seaworld and san diego zoo where we found the crowds to be light!
Went to DL Monday, Wednesday and FRiday and it was crazy about two hours after opening not worth staying!
We got dream passes on Monday so that made the day bearable. Ended up using the 3rd day pass to run back in on Friday AM to try and get in some more rides before the crowds hit again! By 10:00 it was crazy!!!

Thanks tmatthews... I'm a little worried that the parks will be packed. I'm expecting the worst so I won't get disappointed. But I'm hoping it won't be too crazy...

Anybody else just came home?

Prepare for Disneyland's version of "The Perfect Storm"

Combine equal parts of:
1) The final weekend to purchase tickets for the 2 Parks for 1 price promotion
2) The final weekend to use the second half of the ticket if purchased over 30 days prior
3) The last weekend of the Spring Breaks
4) Disneyland closing early on Sunday (5pm I think) for a special event
5) A couple of rides closed (Mark Twain, Splash Mountain, TSI, etc)
6) FP closed on Indy starting this week (this might actually help)
7) No Fantasmic to snag a bunch of people holding 'good spots' from about 4pm

What will be the worst on Saturday is the Fireworks Crowd in the Hub. Since there won't be any on Sunday, all of the visitors will be wanting to see them on Saturday night. The ELP on Sunday is also likely to be packed on Sunday.

I'm so glad I'm going tomorrow and Wednesday not Fri or Sat cause that would be SO packed.

I think Den is right. If there is any consolation is that the real Spring Break period ended this past weekend, as DLR is going to shorter park hours this week which means they are expecting Spring Break crowds to tail off.

If I was on a multi-day trip, here is what I would do:

1. Between Saturday and Sunday, Saturday is the better day to be at DL because it is blockout day for most AP holders. Sunday will be the better day for DCA.

2. If I was in a position to go to DL when it opens at 6:30AM I would do that and then hop to DCA as soon as it opens and never go back to DL. Otherwise I would skip DL entirely on Sunday.

3. Go back to DL on Monday when things have calmed down.

This gives me some hope for our Thurs - Sat. trip. We'll be hopping back and forth, but the plan is to spend most of Thurs and Sat at DL and most of Fri. at DCA. Does this sound about right? We'll make sure to hit DL each day early to take advantage of the lower crowds. We probably won't be hanging out late enough on Fri and Sat to take care of lighter nighttime crowds. (What time does that happen, anyway?)

I'm just crossing all my fingers and toes that the fireworks don't get cancelled Friday night!

Thanks for all your help; the trek begins tomorrow!

Well, I didn't say Saturday would be a good day to be at DL. :) It is just IMO if you want to DL on Saturday or Sunday this weekend, Saturday would be better. If I were you I would be tempted to spend the bulk of Th/Fri at DL and the bulk of Sat at DCA, with parkhopping as appropriate.

ouch... :(
Didn't realize it's going to be that bad....
now I'm depressed...

Well, then we have to cheer you up. ;)

Let's look at the big picture. No one knows for sure what is going to happen this weekend. Heck, with the early DL closing it may cause people to avoid DL that day. So there is speculation going on here.

And if the so-called "perfect storm" materializes then you knew ahead of time! That is much better than arriving at the parks ignorant and having to deal with it on the spot. If the storm turns out to not be so bad then you can be happy.

Finally, you are going to DLR. Come on now! How could that possibly be depressing in the grand scheme of things?

So, take the information provided here and elsewhere and do your best with it. Get an early start each morning! And have fun.

Thanks HydroGuy...
I am excited about going to DL. The last time I went was in 2004.
Hoping the crowd isn't going to be overwhelming...

But you are absolutely right... I'm going to DL!!! :woohoo: :dance3: :cheer2:

Thanks for making me feel better.
And I've printed out all your suggestions (THANK YOU!!!!)... I'm hoping that will be more than enough to destress me out...

Phew... couple more days and I'll be there... :thumbsup2

We will be the Monday the 23rd through Wednesday the 25th so it should be managable......

I so cant wait we leave home on Thursday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
