My mom is going to WDW with my brother, his wife, and their three kids. They want to stay off-site, but not too far from WDW (they will have a car). It would be a plus to be in a villa or condo type set-up so they could have a kitchen. The search feature is disabled so I couldn't do a search with those criteria. Any recommendations (or places to stay away from!), would be greatly appreciated so I can pass on the info to them!!

Thanks!

I would check out a thread Best Suite Hotels that is few pages back.

I would Hoilday In Family Suites, Country Inn and Suites AmeriSuites hotels those have suites that hold six people. I don't if they have a kicthen be check out that.

That should get start.

Off-site villas can be very affordable and excellent if they are not too far from WDW. You might want to read through this thread where someone asked this very same question as you...

Some sites to check out for villas include: www.orlandovillas.com or www.vrbo.com - you can find very good deals. The house we're going to be renting, which sleeps 8-10 will cost us $87.50 per night including taxes - far more economical than getting two hotel rooms on-site. Plus we have four bedrooms and three bathrooms, so plenty of space for seven people. The house we're renting is in the Oak Island area - anything near there or near Formosa Gardens is only about 3 miles away from the World. Probably those are the closest developments to WDW, but I could be wrong there.

Good luck!

Marriott's Residence Inns are very nice and roomy. There is a brand new one, opened in May 2001, in Lake Buena Vista which is 3 miles from the parks. They have a full kitchen and include a full breakfast buffet which we thought was great. Best price I could find for this suite hotel was here: www.orlandodiscountrooms.com/

Also look into the Caribe Royale which is located VERY close to Epcot and MGM: www.mousesavers.com/cariberoyale.html

hi, tell them to try www.hotelkingdom.com and check on there for sunterra cypress pointe villas or grand villas,it is only about a 5 minute drive to downtown disney depending on traffic we stayed there last september and fell in love with the place it is very nie,BTW tell them to ask for the grand villas these are the newest part of the villas, they have a 2 bedroom or a 3 bedroom, we stayed in a 2 bedroom which has a master bedroom, the second bedroom has 2 twin size beds and then the living room has a full size pull out sofa, the 3 bedroom may be better for them.
hope this helps.

Sheraton Vistana Villages is probably the most beautiful suite with tons of room for a large family.
We loved it.

Plus full, full appliances and housekeeping makes this awesome. We looked at a house but I am on holiday so I like someone to clean up.

We don't mind throwing frozen lasagna in etc while we go for a swim.

I am not kidding. When you walk in this place you are very happy indeed.

Hi

We stay in a 3 bed villa approx 35 mins from Disney. It is at a resonable price and has three spacious bedrooms one with en-suite. It also has a screened pool. Contacts of the company are by e-mail through Mike at mike@ashvillas.co.uk

Good luck deciding
