I havnt flown from manchester for years but we got such a good price with Virgin we have decided to give it a go but have no idea when it comes to hotels or parking! I did see Wayne post up an offer on parking and i am swayed to book the meet and greet, it was the cheapest and its pretty convenient when you have 2 children, a wheelchair and a load of luggage ;)
As for hotels i am out of my comfort zone as we have flown from gatwick for so long, any advice/recommendations appreciated x

We stayed at Bewleys last August, it was £56 for the night for a double room I think. When we checked in they asked what time we wanted to leave the next morning and then organised the free shuttle for then. I'd stay there again!
Radisson Blu is pretty much in the airport so it's definitely more convenient but it's also more expensive. And I didn't find having to take the shuttle bus from Bewleys an inconvenience at all :)

I looked at hotels near the airport both with and without parking for our trip next month, prices were too much for me so I booked a night at the Travelodge Macclesfield Adlington. Google maps says it 8 miles away.
Total cost for hotel & 17 nights Meet & Greet was £50. Less than half airport hotel options.
We can drive from home within the hour but for £20 decided to go with the hotel and have an extra half hour in bed on departure morning.

We stayed at the Premier Inn which is across the road from the airport. It was £29 and I would definitely stay there again.

We enjoy the Radisson on the terminal. I don't know what the current prices are but upgrading to a business class room included breakfast and worked out the same as a standard plus breakfast.

Radisson every time. It's part if the holiday now for us. Family rooms are two adjoining big rooms with one king bed and two doubles (maybe singles confused....) and a TV and bathroom each. There is a pool, gym and therapy centre and a good but pricey restaurant. I just budget for it now. So convenient in both directions. Last summer we did on line check in the night before and went through security 90 mins before the flight and were on the flight 30 minutes after that. Back in the car 10 minutes after getting our luggage on the way home. Worth every penny to me :)

Completely agree with the Radisson and the PP - it just wouldn't be a holiday to us if we didn't stay there and it's a hassle free five minute walk to the terminal. The bar/restaurant is really good too.

Ahh. I never said it was cheap ;)

I've also never paid anywhere near that much either?

We are staying a wednesday night and it seems to be a lot more than the other nights, guess thats what i get for buying cheap flights ;)

If you can afford to push the boat out, would DEFINITELY recommend Blu Raddison. We originally stayed at Bewleys and were right next to an ice machine which was really noisy so didn't get much sleep but had to be up at the crack of dawn for a long haul to Orlando. Realise this wasn't hotel's fault coz they need ice machines but was unfortunate for us. Decided to stay at Blu Raddison for our trip to Lapland a few mths later in business class and couldn't fault them at all. It's on the terminal we fly out of as we always fly with Thomson so was exceptionally handy for the 4.30am check-in and they gave us a runway view as I had a child. Have stayed since and received same treatment so won't stay anywhere else now. Movies are free in business class so took my son to airport on train and checked in room as soon as we could then spent the day chilling with free movies and goodies I'd taken in a bag :) Room service is REALLY good.. pizzas are 12" so are great for sharing. If you have an early flight, they provide snacks to go if you've paid B&B rate which is always handy to know. All the staff are lovely and knowledgeable on just about everything. On last trip, I accidentally left my MS medication at home. I had a quick word with the staff and they got it sorted something out for me that wasn't the same medication but was over-the-counter stuff that would at least allow me to enjoy myself so long as I was careful to rest. I know people think I'm a drama queen and that's up to them but I think the hotel deserve recognition for how great they were when I was in a panic as nothing like that had ever happened before. Hope this helps and that you enjoy wherever you choose!! :) x

The Radisson was great when there were two, and then later, three of us. Now there are four of us, they want us to book two rooms £200!!!!!! We really liked Bewleys, family room, we actually parked there free, then drove the two mins to the airport next morning and parked up. Stayed there twice now!

We stayed at the Hilton which is a 5 minute(max) drive from the airport. We paid 129 for 1 night bed and breakfast for 4, but the cost included 15 nights parking as well as transfers to and from the hotel. The hotel has a pool and is easy to access from the motorway, and we found it great. We have booked up for october 2015 and would definitely use the Hilton again.

We have stayed at the Hilton. Nice room with comfy beds.

When I booked the family room at the hilton was half the price of the Raddission and as I had booked meet and greet parking the 5 minute drive the next morning didn't matter.

We booked bewleys through holiday extras. It was a nights stay in a family room 15 nights parking and 3 course dinner each (children under 12 eat free between 6-7) was £116 and then 10% back from quidco.

As I stated previously, it wasn't the same stuff I usually have coz you're quite right in thinking that does require a prescription but the concierge phoned through to Boots chemist terminal 1 and had their pharmacist phone a doctor who could recommend some stuff that could be sold over the counter as opposed to needing a prescription. The pharmacist then kept the stuff to one side and called the concierge to take payment from my debit card and they had someone being it to the concierge and I collected it from the concierge desk. Thought this was really good of them and it stopped me panicking :)

The DISboards, in my understanding, relies on non fictional information.

Congratulations on number 600 ;)

You're not a bad story teller. Just not convincing.

We've also stayed at the Radisson in the past, the location is what swung it for us. SO easy! I don't remember what we paid but I don't think it was extortionate.
