Hi all. My sister just got an email for a $49 rate at Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista through avistahotels.com. Has anyone stayed here recently? How was the shuttle, breakfast, pool, etc? Thanks!

I stayed there about a year ago and really liked this hotel.

The location is great. Palm Parkway isn't far from restaurants, shops, DD, etc. So, a trip to the parks is quick. Plus, Palm Parkway isn't nutso like 192 in Kissimmee. It's much quieter.

I didn't use the shuttle service since I had a car so I can't comment on that. The breakfast buffet was very nice, compared to others I've had. The selection included: cereals, toast, muffins, donuts, waffles, yogurt, fruit, juices, coffee, tea, milk, etc.

The staff was very nice and there is a person at the front desk 24 hours a day (yes, some places don't offer this). I felt very safe in this location. Visitors must enter either through the front lobby or have room keys to enter through the side doors. My room was clean, no musty smells. The pool area is simple but clean. There is a small gym available too.

I'd recommend it.

Thanks so much for the great review! She's decided to book it, especially at that rate, it seems close enough to everything.

I stayed there last year in January 2001. I liked it, it was perfectly fine. I felt safe there, too, which was very important to me since I was traveling solo. My room was clean, and the breakfast was good with plenty to chose from. I don't remember any cooked food, though, just the cereals, fruits, toast, muffins, etc. I liked the hotel so much that I tried to book it again for my trip next month, but it was booked solid for my dates! (the May 17th weekend - some big convention going on!). I didn't have time to swim there, but I think the pool is rather ordinary, but adequate.

I paid 71$ a night - so you got a good deal!

Hi Hugs...thanks for the review. We're originally from Princeton, been up through Mendham many times. Just wanted to mention, my sister's reservation includes May 17. If you're still interested in staying there, try going through http://www.avistahotels.com. Thanks again!
