Any recent pictures of a 1BR at BCV?

I heard they were renovated with flat screens and new sofas. Is this true and if so, does anyone have pictures of a 1BR? Thanks. I'm getting excited-- less than a month. I hope the hurricanes stay away.

I haven't heard anything about flat screen TVs.

A former CM on the Y&BC thread reported that BCV was scheduled for renovation after BC is complete but it seems to me that it happens on an ongoing schedule instead. For instance, new mattresses and linens were added in the last year or so. Painting is ongoing. Hall carpets were replaced a year or so ago.

Someone reported that their villa appeared to have new carpet and to be freshly painted. So who knows.:confused3

There are new sofas in the living rooms and studios. They are of a much nicer design without the middle bar. However, the sofas look the same as the old ones.

They replaced mattresses and sleeper sofas about a year ago at BCV. They are constantly painting and refreshing. No flat screen TVs there.

No, the villas have not been renovated.

Correct, we just returned and had a two bedroom. None of the 3 TVs were flat screens. No rennovations. We actually had to call maintenance a couple of times. Both bathroom sinks were stopped up. The carpet was tearing and exposing sharp staples (we found out the hard way-ouch!) and the dishwasher was not working (actually it worked, it just didn't release the soap, so washed the dishes with hot water, we found out the next time we loaded and the soap was still filled). We still had a great time, we just spent alot of time on the phone calling housekeeping.

Didn't you have the new style sofas and pillowtop mattresses?

Sorry to hear about the carpet. I've seen several recent posts about that.

We just came back. Our room didn't have a flat screen tv. The sofa bed was new.

It did have quite a few stains on the carpet though.:sad2:

They were painting the trims in the hallways and a few painting outside, but that's all we noticed. Nothing major.

We just returned and there was no sign of any renovations going on in the villas. We also had a 2 bedroom and I have to say it was in very bad shape. The carpets and the sofa were worn and stained. The dining table had white rings all over it. When we first got to the room we found that the dishwasher had leaked and the kitchen floor was full of water. We called maintenance and after the third person came they decided to replace the dishwasher. We then had to call them several other times because the master bath toilet didn't flush properly and because the 2nd bath tub was stopped up. We had a good time and still love the Beach Club but we were really disappointed in the room this time.

Not sure about the sofa. It looked pretty old and worn out. Our 14 yo grandson slept there, no complaints. Not sure of the pillow top beds, but they were pretty comfy. We had a 2 br with the 2Q beds in the second room. They looked like they may be new, as they looked higher and plusher than last year.

If it was the type where the cushions do not detach, it was new last summer. If it had detachable cushions, it was the older one.

You get a better response calling Maintenance for maintenance problems. Did Housekeeping respond to your calls?

Yes the cushions were attached, but it was still pretty worn out and stained up.

Actually housekeeping sent someone from the maintenance shop quickly everytime we called. For the sharp tacks on the worned/torn carpet, they came up and put duct tape on the carpet. I'm sure this was just a quick fix.

Sometimes it amazes me how hard the guests can be on the furniture. That sofa was only about one year old.

I was surprised too. I thought it was the new design one. Actually my favorite still has to be the sofa in the studio at the AKV. That one was great. Soft to sit on and deep seated. You could just relax and read a good book on it....of course, that would never happen for me, but it did impress me.

Pretty sure they have started on renovating the Beach club. I think they have just finished the top floor and are making their way down the stairs. They are doing a soft goods refurb, consisting of beds, sofa, carpets and new flat screen tv's. They are scheduled to finish in the Beach club by end November beginning of December. No one seems to know whether they will move onto the villas then or not.

The BCV and the BC are two totally separate properties that only share pools and a name. BCV is owned by DVC members and BC is owned by Disney. DVC members pay for the renovations at BCV, not Disney.

There was some BCV refurb going on when I was there in late August.
I was on the first floor & out my patio door I saw stacks of furniture on the back sidewalk. It appeared to be removed from the rooms. Lots of painters were running around saying they were working upstairs in BCV.
