Anyone been to Kona for dinner recently? We are thinking of eating dinner on our last night here next month. thanks!!

We will be eating there 3 times this trip....twice for dinner and once for breakfast. It's the one place Hubby asked me to make a reservation for. He just loves the Terriyaki Filet.

I do too!!!

I went to Kona Cafe a couple years ago for dinner and liked it. I showed my mom the breakfast menu and she really wants to go for our next trip because of the pineapple macadamia nut pancakes and because it's at the Polynesian (her favorite resort). So I think we might be going again in May.

We were there the week of March 7-14. We at at Kona for dinner once and breakfast once. The restaurant was REALLY loud. And those two meals were our least favorite of the trip. Nothing wrong with it but it was just okay. We don't anticipate going back again.

We love Kona. It's a must-do every trip...our meal in Aug was fabulous.

my mom and i went to kona for dinner on march 26 for the first time. we shared crab cakes for the app, then i had the teriyaki steak and she had the shrimp and scallops for our entrees. for dessert i had the kilauea torte and she had the banana creme brulee. we loved everything, especially the desserts. we will definitely have dinner here again. i haven't been there for breakfast, but i think the pictures of their breakfast items look great, especially the macadamia-pineapple pancakes.

Dh and I had dinner there during our trip over the last week of February.
We had mixed reactions to this restaurant. The Tuna Oscar was AMAZING! Seriously one of the best dishes I've ever had, anywhere. I dream about it it's so good! BUT it was the only really good thing. I LOVE sushi and I couldn't eat much of what I ordered for my appy (shrimp tempura maki), Dh didn't much like his steak, service was ridiculously slow! We didn't receive our entree for 35 minutes AFTER we were done with our appys.
If it weren't for the Tuna Oscar I would not return. I wonder if I can beg it for takeout?!

ate breakfast there in January 2009 -- love, love, love the Big Kahuna platter for breakfast (the macadamia nut pancakes are to die for!)

LOVED dinner there in September:

Kona Prime rib & that wonderful warm Hawaiian bread:

AND the BEST creme brulee ever -- banana with a layer of fudge on the bottom...worth a trip to Kona all by itself!

We ate dinner at Kona on March 14 (to kick off our trip!), and it was delicious as always!

My DH ordered the Teriyaki New York Strip with Sticky Rice

We also have reservations for our May trip and plan on getting one for our October trip as well. It's one of our must-do restaurants.

We ate there two weeks ago and it was wonderful. It was our first time there and it was so good we plan on going back in September when my husband and I return. We will be staying at Poly so it will be convenient.

We went for dinner. I had the prime rib, my dh had the terriyaki steak and both were so good. The salad and bread was good, and the desserts were to die for. They even came out with the cutest dessert plate with lilo and stitch on it for my husband's birthday.

The service was excellent and it really wasnt too loud. We had 5:30 ADR's.

We loved it. I would definitely give it a try if you havent yet. Enjoy! :thumbsup2

Love love love KONA!!!! It is very good there! Highly recommend it!!!

Thank you all so much for your responses!! I think we will make our reservation today and actually cancel San Angel. I love the atmoshpere there but I can't even find 1 thing I really want or not even an appitizer to eat in place of it. Thank you all and have a wonderful Easter or Passover!!

I liked it (went about three weeks ago). Just avoid the steak -- the preparation is good, but the quality of meat Disney buys isn't. DW had the Tuna Oscar and was quite happy with it.
