DD15 and I are leaving next Sunday :thumbsup2. This is a last minute trip in which I have managed to score a couple TS ADRs. We are not on the dining plan. I have looked at the menus and I know that she will prefer to eat off the childs menu at a couple of places because of selection and size. Am I going to have a problem with this?

My dd11 ate off the children's menu and we had no problems with it. I believe, if they want to charge you the adult price for the children's menu item you can request that they adult size the meal. So, you'll get more food but have to pay the adult price for it. Hope that makes sense.

Yes, that is very good to know-thx

We are here right now and DS12 has ordered off the children's menu at all of our TS meals (Sci-Fi, Coral Reef, Le Cellier) and it hasn't been a problem.

Have a great trip!

I'm seventeen and I ate off the kid's menu when I was there over Thanksgiving. Have a great trip!

My late wife would often order from the children's menu. Especially at the Concourse Steakhouse where they had a 4oz filet mignon on the menu. We never had a problem, and she was in her 50s and 60s.

This is good to know. I honestly thought you had to be under a certain age to order from the kid's menu.

This is good news. I have added DDP since I first posted this message. I assume we will be charged 1TS or 1QS regardless of which menu we order from?

We have an 11 year old dd who always eats off the children menu. She could live on chicken nuggets and cheeseburgers! When we have the dining plan I pay out of pocket for her ts meals, except buffets. She uses the adults ts for buffets, we pay for her kids meals and then we use her extra adult credits for breakfast buffets.

We were there for 10 days over Thanksgiving, 11/21 - 30. I was surprised almost every time we sat down or went to order quick service that both our children, DD9 and DS12, were both given children's menus without us even asking. Our son ordered from the children's menu everywhere we went with never a question asked. The only time we paid adult price for him was our Thanksgiving Dinner at Kona Cafe, a dinner at Chef Mickey, and at Hoop-Dee-Doo on our last night. We had ADR's for these and they were listed as 3 adults and 1 child by the CM who took the reservations for us. We weren't expecting him to get to order from the children's menu, so it saved us a bunch of money. He is not a really big eater. I don't think the waitresses at the restaurants really care.

I am (cough, cough) in my early 60's and order from the kids menu all the time. At least at counter service. The two times I was sort of "challenged" I just said, "Really, that is all I can eat." No problem after that.

I am almost 50 and last week I ordered from the children's menu in several places with no problem.

Twice we have had the problem at ESPN and its only because my daughter really likes the mac and cheese there. We have eaten there many times but last summer she ordered it and was told she couldn't eat off the child's menu so I said, "oh that is fine an adult portion of that would be even better ... just charge us accordingly." The gal was a bit flustered and left and came back and said she could order the child's portion "this time."

They didn't brand her or anything so not sure how they would know but next time we had the same problem and I asked for a manager saying we would be happy to pay the adult price but I didn't see that item on the menu. Nobody wants to get a manager though so they served it again.

The last time we were there with a large group and she ordered it without comment.

I think they changed the mac and cheese though she said so it won't be an issue any longer.

Wow! This is great! We're going to eat diner at TS places and I can tell that my DD wouldn't want to order an adult entree at some of these places. Now she'll have a choice of an adult entree or an adult appetizer or a kids' meal -- she will be very happy with that info!

I'm glad that they are being flexible these days (except at ESPN, which we'll avoid!).

We did...:lmao:
The 3 of us ordered 3 adults breakfast platters, but wanted the child size mickey waffles too. Yumm, it was soo good. What can I say! we are big eaters.
