Any possible chance????

My good friend had to cancel her summer vacation plans due to an unexpected 7 week round of radiation. Now she's planning a trip to Florida in October on our fall break. She really wants to stay on property at Disney and would love to be close to Epcot. I know, I know F&W will make it difficult to get a room, but I would love to hook her up for a studio at BWV or BCV for Oct. 9 &10th. She's on a tight budget and could never pay for something other than a value resort, but I'd love for her to be able to stroll over to Epcot. Anyone think I have a prayer of snagging up a studio for two nights?

I think your only chance will be the waitlist. October is REALLY busy. There's hardly availability anywhere much less the Epcot resorts. Call tomorrow and get on the waitlist immediately. I had to waitlist yesterday for a studio at SSR for the week of Oct. 20-27. There was pretty much nothing else available. I did get 4 nights of the week at SSR but they are scattered around so hoping the waitlist will work.

If you had to book something at another resort, maybe something would come up at the last minute and she could switch. I hope it works out!

Call them - you might be able to snag a night or two. Last week I was able to get a Tuesday night at a BCV studio the first week of October for one of my son-in-law's to try. He's never stayed there. When I called, Member Services had a Sunday and a Tuesday available. You never know until you try.

It's a very slim chance, and I'm not sure she would want to "take a chance" given her health issues. It might be easier to book a different sized unit or waitlist for a different sized unit. I guess that isn't as much of an issue with BWV though, since everything is a lock-off.

my father has already passed the radiation part of his treatment plan and is now dealing with hormone treatments and matsases-pelvic pain. I wish your friend the very, very best and hope her radiation puts her on the road to recovery!!!

I called MS and just as I suspected, I had no luck. I think she actually looked at every DVC and said no availability for the two nights I wanted in a studio anywhere. I might try calling back at the 30 day mark, just in case something was to open up. We almost always book at 11 months or 7 months - so had little experience with short notice trips. But, there was no harm in trying.

Why don't you just waitlist for the two nights at BCV or BWV?

I assume that if your friend books a cash room as a back up, she could cancel that if the waitlist works. At 31 days prior to arrival, you could either just let the waitlist request expire if it didn't come through before then or call to have it continue until 7 days before arrival.

I think that waitlisting for the 2 days at either of the EPCOT resorts has a pretty good chance of working (most waitlists will be for more days than that, so IMO you have a better chance than anyone who waitlists for a longer period) - and if you waitlist at any resort, it has an even better chance.

First of all, please give my best to your friend.

Now to your question. I booked a long weekend in October (11-15) in the beginning of July and they didn't have much availability. Orginally, I booked a 1 bedroom and the only place I could get something was SSR. Then I changed to a 2 BR because I was blowing a bunch developer's points and I was able to get into OKW but not much else. However, I didn't ask about a studio.

So, as everyone else has suggested, I would call now and waitlist at multiple resorts.

The problem with those particular dates is that it is also Columbus day weekend which makes it even harder to book. Get on the waitlists now and hopefully one of them will come thru.
