Any playback problems with Fantasia Bluray?

We picked up the Fantasia bluray this week and tried to watch it last night - the first disc loads and plays, but the second disc gets to the menu screen and when you select any option it goes to a black screen like it is loading but stops and never actually plays anything.

Anyone else?

You might just have a defective disc. That happened to me a few years ago with a movie I bought. I would suggest taking it back to the retailer and asking to exchange it for a new copy.

It's not unheard of for some blu-ray discs to lack compatibility with various brands of players. You didn't say what brand your blu-ray player is, but you might search for Fantasia/blu-ray player issues and get an answer.

Assuming that your blu-ray player has internet capabilities, you might check for software updates.

I have a PS3 and I've never had a problem with any disc, but my Fantasia set isn't coming for a couple of weeks.

I have a similar problem with the Fantasia Blu-ray disc in the 4 disc combo pack. However, in my case, the Fantasia disc only goes as far as the previews and then goes black. I cannot even get to the menu screen. The Fantasia 2000 Blu-ray in the same pack works fine. It's really odd.

I'm taking it back to Best Buy for a refund. I'm also going to ask how many have been returned for this problem.

My system has the current firmware version - no updates available (I stay on top of that, checking frequently).

I took our copy back to BJ's and exchanged it but haven't had a chance to check out the new disc(s) yet. I'll post again when I do.

At least I'm not the only one having trouble.

So, before taking the Blu-ray back, I went online and looked to see if there was a firmware release available. There was. I updated my player with the #021 update and that did the trick. Now, Fantasia plays and I am a happy camper.
