First let me explaine.I am a man who watches every penny, My wife on the other hand......But I find my self wanting to buy up every DVC point I find on the web...3 trips a year,no way not enough.
I guess they say the first step in getting over an ediction is admitting it.
DR.PHILL HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the way you think. Especially since my husband recently commented on how expensive something was and said "that would buy a lot of DVC points!" and in the fantasy of "what would you do if you won the lottery?" the first item on his list was more DVC points. Isn't that funny? And just when we thought we could see the light at the end of the tunnel -- DD will be going off to college in 2 years and DS is not far behind and we figured points would be ours, they came to us and said "Just think, no matter where we are when we are married or grown and gone, we can still all celebrate Thanksgiving together at HH!" How funny! DH looked at me and said "I think we are gonna need some more points!" :D

I was just contemplating adding an OKW contract with a mid-year use year to add to our BCV/OKW contracts or possibly selling BCV to buy the OKW contract or some combination.

Whew! I'm so relieved. When I saw the title of this thread I was really worried that the post was going to be out of bounds for a Disney board.

How strange my DH is the same way with watching his money. But when it comes to Disney he goes over board. Everytime he gets a bonus check from work or comes into additional cash the first thing he says is "Can we buy more points? " The pixie dust must affect men. LOL

My first thought is "It's nice to see other husbands so obsessed with this....."

My second thought is "JimC is thinking about giving up BCV points? How many and what use year?"

:)

This is VERY addicting.......

I feel just raising the question could possibly be considered moving to " THE DARK SIDE ".

Everyone wants more points, some just can't admit it.

Some write "We just did an add on for X number of points" but you know before the deal is even done they are thinking We should have added on 2 times X points or even more.

Be strong.

I just cleared ROFR and I'm already looking to add on. You're not the only one, trust me.

Me Too................I am still waitng on ROFR and I am already thinking about when, where and how many points to add.

I am as Disney obsessed as my wife. Right now we have the right # of points, but I've wondered what's going to happen when the kids get older and want to bring their families. I can't wait till just my wife ansd I can go. I think we may need more points then.

This is me doing the single digit dance.:Pinkbounc

What a relief, it's not just me!

We have enough points for the number of trips we plan to take each year, but once you have them, you only seem to want more. We purchased 200 points on-site in October. Less than a week after we got home, I was on the phone to add another 100. And every day I'm checking what's available on the re-sale sites. The scary part is, we haven't even had our first DVC stay yet. What's going to happen in 3 weeks when we finally stay in that beautiful 1BR in SSR.:earseek:

Whatever you do --- do NOT go to the preview center :hyper:

I must confess, I am the one with the problem here. Don't get me wrong, DW loves Disney, it just seems I'm the one always planning and wanting to add on points!!

I count all the pennies and buy all the DVC points. I guess we frugalites lose all control when it comes to DVC

..... but after paying for 5 years at NEU in Boston for oldest DS, then paying his Boston rent while he looked for a job, now helping to pay for his Sept wedding, while at the same time the younger DS is completing his 3rd year at R.I.T. in Rochester NY..... I think I'd have pass on a 3 pt add-on because because it would increase my dues by a buck a month.

Me too, youre not alone.::yes::

In fact I was the one who initiated buying our original contract. DW thought I had lost all the remaining sense I had. Then to get her to consent to a 50 pt addon. That was like pulling eye teeth.

Well by the time our third trip home was halfway over SHE was wanting to addon. Im so proud of her. And guess what, I didnt hesitate one minute. Got on the phone and DVC sold us 130 more without us hardly blinking an eye.

Same problem here. After taking the time to convince DW that we could handle the 150 points and paid our deposit I was wondering how to add on 50 more! I am such a nut when it comes to watching where money goes, except for on vacation at WDW, then nothing is out of the ordinary. I guess that would be our best chance to add on then, eh?

I saw the title of this thread and wondered if it were Bob Dole or Mike Ditka posting.

FWIW, yeah, I'm constantly plotting and scheming on how to wrangle just a few more points. We bought at VWL, then added on last year at BWV, and now I'm thinking "just 65 or so more points, and we'd be set."

Anyone buying that? I don't think it's possible to ever be "set."

DW doesn't completely get it, but she's just thankful my addiction isn't like being a druggie or alcoholic.

Or is it? Geez....
