BTW, are we a considered a clique? I've heard so much about these on the DIS lately.... ;)

Rachael

IMO, no. Seems as though the "cliques" can get kinda nasty. I just don't see anyone on here doing that. :)

Good luck with the weight loss... never an easy thing to do! :thumbsup2

:lmao: I was thinking the same thing yesterday but we definitely stick to one topic and anyone is welcome to come hang out here....even the guys.

I do have to add...not all of the "cliques" are bad. I've been hanging out on the YAYA threads since 2003 and I have to say that the ladies and gents there are the nicest folks you'll ever meet. When Tara was pregnant with her son we threw her a virtual baby shower. We mailed gifts her house and then all joined in a chat room at a certain time so she could open the gifts from us. I don't think those nasty judgmental cliques would ever do something like that.

Thanks for clarifying... see how nice we are?! :teeth:

Hi there everybody!

I had the u/s yesterday (cd13) and they could not find one single follicle. I'm not sure what they're planning on doing next (my doc isn't in today, so I won't find out until tomorrow :sad2: ) I don't usually O until cd 17-20, so I'm not sure if they'd even be able to see anything this early. The good part was, the nurse that did the u/s didn't notice any of the usual PCOS findings on the u/s. I meet all of the other criteria, but apparently not that one!

7Beasley - good luck with everything.

ImarriedGrupmy - I don't think I've ever heard anyone with much good to say about Kaiser. Good luck with them... Just talk faster and louder than they do :)

Jen

I can't imagine they didn't find one follicle. Are you taking any meds?? Oh and where in NH are you Jen??

She saw one teeny little spot she thought might be the start of one, but other than that, nothing. I did 5 days of Clomid at the beginning of this cycle.

I'm 1/2 hour away from Concord. I started looking into an RE instead of OB/GYN, but there's really nothing close to us. Machester or Lebanon look like the only options, but Manchester is an hour away, and Lebanon is closer to 2 hours. With our work schedules, that might be difficult. I think I should get a job in Massachusetts - then I'm close to someplace that does this stuff, and the insurance will pay for part of it. :)

It might be the best thing to find a re. Carla is in Derry so I am sure she could be very helpful

Speaking of Carla....she is having the SHG done today. I hope everything goes well.

Jen,

Sorry to hear about the "lack of " follicles. You are right to look for an RE. Do you think your OBGYN might refer to one he or she works with?

I also agree that Carla would be a good resource, I think Lisa B is in Mass too. Ask her also.

Good luck and don't give up.

Jen - talk to your OB/GYN - Maybe she can do some of the testing/treatment in conjunction with an RE - so that you don't have to travel to the RE's office as often. Maybe the RE can prescribe the protocol / drugs / or whatever, and your OB/GYN can do the monitoring.

If you come to Lebanon, I will take you out to lunch! :teeth: If you bring a fire truck, my daughter will ask you to come and live with us!

I was diagnosed with PCOS, and it was pretty obvious from the ultrasounds that I had polycyctic ovaries. The cysts looked like black spots, and I could spot the myself. The u/s tech wrote it down on every report, and it wasn't until I asked for the blood test months later that my doctor tested me (he thought I had already been tested). If that was your problem, I would think the u/s would have given a clue.

Good thoughts on the way for Carla. I think tonight is also the American Idol concert she wanted to go to. I heard Katherine is not singing, though due to bronchitis and laryngitis.

FlyingBelle - I am sending lots of :wizard: your way for Monday!

I am supposed to be on jury duty, but they cancelled my trial this morning. I debated whether or not to go to work, and decided to go. I should have stayed home, because it is a beautiful day, and I am bored to death.

Hey Rachael that was me that suggested Carla. I am in Mass but SE Mass. We go to Woman and Inflants in Providence and I think Carla is at NEMC north of Boston. My guy is great. If you want to travel to Boston; my aunt has a RE/OB at Mass General that is tops in his field. If you want I will get his name for you. I know his first name is Tom. He used to babysit her kids when they lived in Cape Gereadeau MO.

Aunt Flo started this morning. I'm scheduled to reduce my Lupron dose Saturday morning and start Follistim Saturday evening. Then I'll go in for my first monitoring visit next Wednesday the 12th at 7:45am.

I'm sorry Kristy It is so tough when she shows up because you are hoping against hope that all symptoms are in your head and this may be the month.

Lisa....for once it's actually good that AF showed up. On IVF when you start the Lupron you have to wait until Flo shows before you can start the Follistim. :) :)

Here you go!

Sorry Kristy I didn't know that Well good luck and glad AF showed up. Is follistim the same as glonal f????

Hi Guys.

Jen in NH - I am in Massachusetts too and my RE is at the Reproductive Science Center in Lexington - he is great!! They have a whole team of people there. Don't know how far that would be for you.

Hi all -- good luck to everyone. I am thinking of you all!

no need to be sorry....we're all learning new things here. I honestly have no idea if Follistim and Glonal F are the same. I do know that Follistim is a gonadtrophin.

Well - it didn't happen this month :sad1: I caved, and I tested - got a BFN and a couple of hours later AF started.

Hope someone else has good luck soon!

Hi everyone!
I am so happy I get to post on this thread!!LOL DH and I made the final decision to start trying!

So, I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Nikki and I am 30. DH is 34. We have been together for 12 years, married for 9 of those years. We have 2 kids. DD(8), DS(3). We had 1 miscarriage inbetween. Never had trouble concieving, but I have trouble keeping them in full term! Both my pregnancies I was put on bed rest at 6 months. Both my kids came early anyway.
I'm alittle nervous about everything!

I had a hard time desiding TTC for lot's of reasons. Mostly b/c DS was such a sick baby with lot's of issues. Another reason was because my best friend is TTC and she has to go through so much to do so! She has a beautiful DS(3) but has been TTC for over a year. She has had 3 miscarriages, and she has been through so many tests, etc.... I don't know too much of the specifics but she has to do the shots. She is going through so much and has to move mountains to get pregnant and staying pregnant is a whole other thing. I just would feel really guilty if I get pregnant before her. We are going to WDW in Nov together and she really wants to be pregnant by then. I will feel so bad if I am and she's not. :guilty: I haven't told her yet that we are trying.
