How was everyone's weekend? Anyone lucky enough to have today off? :wizard: I sent DH back to work and I am home stuck apparently. I couldn't get the car out of Park for some reason! I don't know what that's about, but I'm so ready for a new car!

:lmao: Had to laugh at that...I just had my van towed yesterday because I couldn't get it into park!!!

vettechick99 we could get by just trying every night. Did you know that is not a good thing. I had trouble concieving. Took 9 years for me to have my son. They told us to that you deplete the sprem count that way. That is why you have to figure out when you ovulate. But you shouldn't go longer then three days build up. You should ask your doctor about this.[/QUOTE said:
I've been pregnant 3 times (only 1 successful, though) and those 3 times happened on the only months where we were able to BD EVERY day. I think it just depends. Like a PP said, the research goes both ways, so it's hard to tell. Might as well give every different option a try, right? :)

Good morning all. Happy 4th. I went in for my esterdil test to see how I am responing to the glonal f. Has anyone had my side effect with this particular drug????? Kevin is one happy camper. :cheer2: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I find out this afternoon about the next step.

Happy 4th everyone! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Kristy, I've never taken my Follistim anywhere. I more or less tie myself to the house and make sure I'm home at night to do it. I don't refrigerate my Lupron. I just keep it in a cabinet. I've been able to get 3 rounds out of one order of Lupron, but Freedon Drug always hassles me when I need more needles. I mean...really....in MA, you can go into any pharmacy and buy needles for drug use, yet they give me the 3rd degree for Lupron needles! Sheesh!! There isn't any more tissue to test. She was trying to get the fetal tissue, but it either reabsorbed or came out....there isn't any left. Can't wait to get my uterus blown up with saline Thursday. I have the Vicodin all set for that. :thumbsup2

Jen, a lot of places have Share Risk programs for IVF. You get something like 3 fresh rounds and whatever frozen rounds you end up with for a flat fee (I've heard around $15,000). That's about as much as adoption and you can deduct it as a medical expense (any amount over 7.5% of your income), plus mileage for your monitoring and stuff. Everyone says they'd rather do adoption because at least they "know" they'll end up with a baby, but we know that's not true. You could be out money and still have no baby with either option. With the shared risk, you get some money back (some places offer 70% or more back) if you don't have a baby when it's all over. So, you could always take your refund and move on to adoption if the IVF didn't work. Can you tell I've given this a lot of thought? :lmao: Good luck with your u/s tomorrow!

Syrreal, get some Jolly Rancher lollipops. For some reason, the sourness of them helps nausea. I hope you're feeling better soon. :grouphug: How far along are you now?

vettechick, I think we're unlucky group for cars! I just sunk $900. into mine and DH got stuck at work because his wouldn't start (fuel pump). We all need new cars...and babies. Not asking for much, are we?!

Denae, I hope you're off today enjoying the lovely weather....finally. :sunny: Is this the new job keeping you so busy??

IMarriedGrumpy, sorry about your appointment. Were you able to get a new one? Does your DH say why he doesn't want a baby? No time is "perfect" and waiting....waiting can work against you in so many ways.

Lisa, I hope you get good news when you get THE CALL. :wizard:

FlyingBelle, how was your progesterone test?

Congrats to all of the new aunties!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Most docs don't really believe that any more...

And if they do, I'll show them my positive test AND how many times I BD'd that week. YOWZA!! :firefight :rotfl:

Hi ladies. Haven't been around much (busy with the job and not feeling too well). I'm not puking, just queasy and have major food/smell aversions.

Plus I am getting really bad headaches in the AM, and I can only take tylenol- which is pointless. DH is going to call my doc back tomorrow and see if I can get in any earlier to try to figure out something for my headaches (normally I take prevention meds, but can't since I'm pregnant: have to figure out a safe alternative).

Hi Carla,

I will try the lollipops. I had a lemon regular one yesterday and it seemed to help a little. Of course, I also felt better yesterday than I did teh day before. The bad days come and go, most of them are ok. :)

I'm 8 weeks along now. I have my next drs appt at the end of July for an u/s. I'm excited about that. A few days after that we are goig on vacation to Montreal (I've never been and DH wanted to surprise me as a "yay we're having a baby vacation") for a few days. I just hope the sickness is gone by then so that I can have a good eating time in Montreal :)

I'm also trying to talk DH into doing a long weekend at WDW during food and wine as the last time we'll be able to go there before we have kids. I know we won't be waiting too long before going back once we have the baby. Thanks to DGP who will gladly sit for us so that we can play.

This is pretty much along the same lines, but Sour Patch Kids work great too!

Happy 4th Everyone! :flower1:

My progesterone was still low yesterday (14.3, RE wants to see it over 20). I've been taking crinone (progesterone cream) for the last week - she said not to worry becuase the cream won't show up in the bloodstream. So I keep taking it and wait for Monday to know if it worked :woohoo: I REALLY hope so - we've got 2 vacations scheduled for August and I don't think I'll be able to fit in all the appts - which means taking a month off. Ugh!

Help! I started freaking out yesterday... it was so hot and humid last night so DH & I went swimming. Was that bad? Will the chlorine hurt anything???? I know I'm being paranoid :guilty: , and the nurse said we could go about life as normal (no heavy lifting, no alcohol, no OTC meds except Tylenol), but chlorine is a pretty harsh chemical. Has anyone asked their RE about it???

Hi, ladies! Can I join your thread? I'm Mandy and I turned 30 this year (wow -- that's the first I've said that outloud). DH and I are TTC as of last week.

I had HUGE complications with my first child (not during, but labor & recovery + bad PPD) after an emergency CSec. I'm scared to do this all over again, but excited at the prospect of having a little one. Plus, my best friend is due in December, so I've been doing all the baby stuff with her!!

DH just wants to "let it happen" but I've been tracking my cycles and I'm pretty regular. We do have a "Little Souvenier" from WDW (see signature) from our trip in 2002.

I've only been here a short time - but everyone here is wonderful! It's a very supportive group, and there seems to be success too!

Welcome aboard and good luck! pixiedust:

Welcome Mandy!!! Glad you joined! This is a wonderful group with so many amazing women, so feel free to talk, vent, or ask questions! ;)

Hey Mandy, just wanted to say welcome and YOUR DD IS SOOOOO CUTE IN THE TINK OUTFIT!!! :tink:

Hope you'll find it a nice place here to hang out until you get the BFP (big fat positive...won't tell you what I thought it meant when I first joined in here!!!) :rotfl:

Working tonight, and Tues, Wed and Fri night this week. Lots of overtime, but it's good to get as much debt paid down now before I have to go down to unemployment wages on mat leave for a year. Oh, and there's that Disney trip in October to pay for...it never ends!!

Started temping again this week, although I don't know how much good it's going to do...it's so hard to track when I work nights. Jen, do you have any suggestions??? For 5 days my temps are all over the place, and these were all morning temps...aaarrrrrggggghhhh!! I hope it gets easier. I just want to figure out if I'm Oing. Guess I could resort to the CBEOPK but I don't want to get obsessed with this right off the bat. We're not even supposed to be officially TTC until the fall.

Gotta love OT - I'm getting it for today, since it's the holiday. As far as temping on wierd shifts, I just do it after I get out of bed (regardless whether it's the middle of the afternoon or first thing in the am) My doc said it would be less accurate, but the best way considering the circumstances. The hard ones for me are when I'm working, and we have an early morning call. I try to get a temp while I'm tying my boots, but honestly, I'm not that coordinated.

Jen

Welcome Mandy I am so glad you joined us

Went to have my blood work done and i had to take 150 mg tonight and go in tommorrow for u/s and bloodwork.

My friend just had a baby regular delivery at 4 am on Monday morning and she went home today which sounds sick. I thought that they had to stay a min of 48 hours

Me, too...I know here, it's two days. I was called by the hospital at 2 a.m. and told they had a room ready for my induction. I stayed four nights, but it was actually five days. If I'd gone in the night before I would've had to leave way before I was ready with all my complications...

Don't know about the US, but here in Ontario, there is no required stay. You can get up and leave as soon as you have the baby. Not recommended, but you can. It's the maximum that ticks me off. Some hospitals if it's not your first and you have a normal delivery, it is their mandate to have you out within 24 hours of delivery. With a c-section it's 60 hrs. I had Connor on a Wed am and my sister (bless her heart...NOT!) kicked me out on Saturday at noon, far too soon for my taste!! And with cutbacks after cutbacks, the services just aren't available. If you have a baby on a Friday afternoon, the lactation consultants don't work on weekends now, so you won't get a hospital visit from them because you will be discharged on Monday morning or before! Makes it hard for new moms to get the hang of breast-feeding, I know I had a hard time and gave up after a couple weeks.

Looking back at the posts I think she actually had her baby at 4 pm on Sunday which isn't as bad as 4 am on Monday. I had a section with Diana at 10 pm on Friday and left on Tuesday. They wanted to throw me out on Monday but I said no way. I think if I get pregnant again I will demand the same thing.

You can leave most hospitals whenever you want AMA (although sometimes it isn't too smart!). I went home less than 12 hours after I had DD (was even a medicated birth), but my doctors were fine with it.
