Hello everyone!!! I hope you are all well.

I had the Laparscopy scheduled for this Friday, but cancelled it because......................................................................................................................................I'm finally pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's been 16 of the longest months ever!!!!!!! I think I conceived in Disney World!!!!! It really is a magical place!!!! I am only like 4 weeks, so VERY early, and keeping my fingers crossed.

I just want to say thank you to all of the woman here that were so supportive. I hope it's not too difficult to read, I just wanted to post to give everyone out there hope that it can happen!

mla, congrats! What a nice surprise. :goodvibes

tink, I found FF very supportive on the Med Assistance Board. There are also groups for TTC 2+ years that are great. Stay away from Waiting to Test and all of those. Annoying. ;)

Your mom called and told me, I thought you might post here. Congratulations, ML, my fingers are crossed too!

Yeah, those drove me nuts. I might check the Med Assistance board, but I'm not sure I'm willing to pay again only to be drawn to the waiting to test, waiting to ovulate, etc boards where some people just couldn't understand!

Sending sticky baby dust your way!!! :wizard:

I just have a question for you ladies. My boss told me yesterday that she is going in for her 3rd round of IVF and it will be her last one way or another. I am expecting my third in a very different situation. What can I do or say to be supportive? Or should I say nothing at all? SHe was very honest with me about her feelings, for example please don't be upset if I don't see you in the hospital ect. I just don't want to do or say the wrong thing. But I want her to know I am there for here. She is a great boss and we are both 29 so we have alot of other things in common too.

Anyone have a good, supportive IVF site they'd recommend? I was on fertility friend, but didn't renew my subscription because I got tired of feeling sorry for myself when comparing myself to some people there with no fertility trouble!

Try www.ivfconnections.com. They have tons of boards in various categories - very helpful and supportive. I am starting my first cycle in a few weeks - as soon as AF decides to show up. I excited but very nervous!

mla - congrats! I am so very happy for you!

Nikki - My only advice would be to be as understanding as possible. Don't take it personally if she doesn't come to your baby shower, or she doesn't come to the hospital. Know that she cares about you, but that those situations are tough for people having a hard time conceiving. And be there to talk to about the IVF if she wants. By the same token, don't be less happy about your prgnancy and baby, either.

Denae

mla - congrats!!! That's great! Gotta love the Disney magic ;)

Skuttle - is your doc only going to put you on meds if the glucose testing is off? I don't know about all practices, but the doc I'm seeing put me on metformin for the insulin resistance / PCOS even though my glucose tolerance results were inside the normal range.

Anyhow, keep your fingers crossed for me. I have an appointment with OB/GYN on Thursday, since AF hasn't showed up in 12 weeks. I want to discuss when they will start looking into Clomid again - after Christopher was born, the doc said he would want me to wait a year. I'm hoping I can talk them into trying sooner.

Jen

Congratulations MLA! :yay: Enjoy your pregnancy!

I just CANNOT keep up with these boards! They move too quick for me! So hello to everyone, it seems every time I'm on here more people are prego! :)

I need some advice! I'm using the home ov sticks right now. We did the bd last yesterday around 6 am. (I know, not my favorite time either but I'm desperate! lol). This morning my test came back positive, with both lines equal. We can't bd again until tonight. I'm hoping I didn't "miss my window" yet again. I try to bd with no more than 24 hours in between. This will put us at around 30+ hours, with the first +ov stick in the middle of it. I hope we're still okay. I'm so tired of obsessing over all this!

I talk about the most intimate things in front of anyone anymore without even thinking about it. I see the weird looks I get! lol Btw, a girl at work gave me a "book" (a HUGE article she had emailed to her from some fertility subscription). It was quite interesting. I never knew things like KY and saliva are damaging to sperm! I've got some pre-seed now!

Any other weird tips? Thanks and good luck! :wizard:

Hi everyone :wave2: I just found this thread and started reading, I'm on page 19, so I have a long way to go. Congrates to everyone who had babies and good luck to those trying.

Well, I'm 28, almost 29, and DH(34) and I are going to start trying in Januay. (Maybe on our trip to WDW :cool1: ) I didn't start my BC on sunday b/c I wanted to start chartting and getting the BC out of my system. I'm nervous and excited all at the same time. My DD4 was a suprise so this whole planning thing is soooo strange. I go the GYN on thurs., I should get my pre-natals, then right?

I've been reading TCOYF but had a question. I've read a few times on the thread about some of ya'll taking metformin. I'm already on it for my diabetes, so I know what it does, is there something else it helps with?

Karly

I am so behind! I am sorry. This just becomes a busy time of year for me so I spend more time away from home than usual.

Carla, you know I am so happy for you! I hope your pregnancy this time is much easier on you than last.

MLA, that is awesome news!!!!!!! Keep us posted with how you are please. I love it when I hear of people trying for so long finally getting pregnant.

Allison, good luck with everything at the doc. I am sorry AF showed, but I know how it is when you aren't feeling well.

Nikki, I think Denae gave great advice. You are a wonderful friend to keep in mind everything that she is going through. I agree that if you can understand why she shies away from being in the hospital, why she may not want to go to your baby shower etc you'll be great. If someone throws you one, I would give her a heads up before the invite goes out and let her know how much you really do understand how she might be feeling. Those kinds of things go a LONG way.

Kelly, I might not be much help, but my doc says BDing every otehr day is good enough so 30 hours probably won't hurt much.

Karly, welcome to the group! Truthfully not all docs think you need pre-natals for TTC and some actually (don't hurt me) don't think you need them during pregnancy as long as you take some vitamin. Mine falls into that category. Make sure you get 400mcg of Folic Acid minimum though.

No, I don't think you missed your window. A positive OPK indicates that ovulation should occur withing the next 24 - 36 hours so it sounds as though your timing is perfect! :thumbsup2

Congrats, mla! That's wonderful news! This is cycle 16 for me...maybe it'll be lucky for me, too!

Karly...you sound just like me! I'll be 29 this month, DH is 31. Our DS4 was a surprise, so TTC has been a new, and frustrating, experience! Hopefully yours turns out better than mine! My gyn actually told me to take OTC prenatals while TTC and she'd give a Rx ones after I was pregnant.

Jen, I'm not sure what's going on actually. After I failed the glucose test, my gyn sent me to followup with my GP. My GP suggested trying to control the insulin issue with diet and exercise before jumping to meds. I go back to my GP in about 4 weeks to see how I've done. I am waiting to call my gyn back after that visit with my GP if I'm not given meds. I know meds aren't the answer for everything, but after 16 cycles, I'm not really into the "let's wait and see" approach to any of this! Of course, my gyn seems intent on counting months TTC from my April chemical pregnancy, so that's very frustrating. I know losing the weight may help, and would actually be better for me and a pregnancy in the long run, but I'm so over the waiting game at this point! I figure after I go to my GP later this month and see what she says, then I'll call my gyn back and beg to start doing more testing or meds or something...either that or she'll have to refer me to counseling or I may look for another gyn to get another opinion on things. I really don't want to do that, but after my gyn referred me to my GP for the insulin issue, that kinda stung since I broke down in tears at my annual exam while talking about TTC.

I haven't had success getting back into temping so I may try the OPK's. I do have a question about that, though. After temping for 6 months or so, I seem to O late...around CD19/20. When should I start the OPK's...around the "average" CD14, or wait until closer to CD19. I have no idea how expensive these things are...If they are cheap enough I guess I could do it starting from CD14 just in case. I don't know. Any thoughts?

Hi Skuttle! I'm the queen of opks! lol I have one child, working on my 4th pregnancy. I buy them in bulk from the dollar stores! You get one for $1, so you will need several. (6-10) to start off with. The box tells you when to start using them dependant upon your cycle days. I start earlier b/c I don't want to miss it! lol I also stock up on my $1 pregnancy tests at the dollar store! The cashiers either laugh or look at me strange, but hey I'm buying them all then I'm outta there! lol Good luck!

Just back from the doc. Looks like we are going to do clomid and IUI after this next cycle. Anyone been through this before? I think that's how rebecca got pregnant, if I remember correctly. . .maybe I'll have the same luck!

I'm going to try to catch up.

mla-Congratulations!!!!

skuttle-I haven't tried the OPKs, but I have thought about that watch that gives you the smileyface. It seems so much more practical than POAS everyday (not everyday, but still)!

GypsySue-Good luck. I don't know anything about either, other than what I've read on here.

Ok, so I finally got a Dr. appt. today. It will be next Tuesday. Luckily I never have to deal with this nurse that's been giving me so much trouble anymore because I'll only see her dr. if and when I am pregnant. They were able to get my records from my previous office and I had them verify that my thyroid was fine, which was something that had been bothering me. They tested it at my annual because the dr. thought my thyroids seemed large and told me I would only hear results if there was a problem. I never heard anything, but then when I went 9 weeks without a period, I started thinking maybe I had slipped through the cracks. It was definitely fine in April, so I have every reason to assume it is fine now. The nurse seemed to think this could be normal for me, which really upset me.

How in the world would I ever get pregnant, and if I did, would it take me until I was already 2 or more months along to even suspect it or take a test? These are some of the things bothering me....I'm more paranoid than this, but I'm trying to keep it at a minimum.

Yup it worked for me. I hope it works for you :goodvibes

If you have any questions please let me know. :)
