Any Orlando area Restaurant recommendations/warnings?

Cafe Tu Tu Tango ... I've read several recommendations for this place and I love the idea of trying lots of different dishes and sharing. Would it be appropriate to take kids (13, 7, 6) or is it more of a 'couples' kind of place? Our kids are all pretty well behaved and aren't little monsters, but I'd hate to ruin someone else's 'romantic night out' if kids aren't really expected there.

And yes ...if we eat at any of the off-site restaurants, i'll definitely report back. Our trip isn't till Feb 11th ... but I'll be sure to post something afterwards.

Elaine, YOu could take kids there, but they probably would not appreciate the novelty. I think it is a great place for couples (although it can be noisey) because you are sharing and passing food around and commenting on the flavors, etc. If memory serves me, each small dish runs about $6-$8 depending on the dish and will have enough portions for 2-3 people. They have a steak skewer (kind of a teryaki thing) that is about the best thing I've ever tasted.

This is sort of off the main topic ... but I thought I'd put it here rather than starting up a new thread.

Has anyone used any of the 'Free Kid's Meal' coupons for Orlando McDonalds that you can print on-line? I've seen them on several different sites ... here's one - http://www.orlandosaving.com/mcdonaldscoupon.htm

But I just wondered if anyone who'd tried to use them had had any problem doing so? I'm guessing they're legitimate, but I'm also kind of wary ... gee whiz ... the site says "Print this page and bring it with you to the
restaurant for your discount. Enjoy!" ... but on the graphic itself it says "Black & White cards will not be accepted."

Here's another one ... http://www.mcfun.com/coupons.shtml ... actually three coupons ... and they're on the 'Oerther Foods McDonald's Orlando' website.

I don't know for sure that we'll even stop at a McD's while in the area ... but I figure I can print out a few of the coupons "just in case" ... if we don't use them, I can toss them.

Well after all of this questioning and searching and reading ... :confused3

I ended up not using any Restaurant.com certificates and not really eating anywhere in the Orlando area other than on the UCF campus. Both days of my conference I had lunch on campus (one was a catered meal and the other from the student union) and one night dinner was catered as well. On the other night, I met up with my family after they left MGM and I returned to Disney from UCF and we ate at the Earl of Sandwich in DownTown Disney.

On our drive back we waited to stop and eat much further north than Orlando. We were just never out and about in Orlando or the surrounding areas when we were ready for a meal.

I will say that packing an entire loaf of PB&Js and snacks such as Chex mix, animal cookies, granola bars, and fruit we cut down a lot on our stopping to eat during the drives down and back ... and even had some light meals in our room which enabled us to have a late breakfast/early lunch before going into the parks or a very late lunch/early dinner combo in the parks or DTD so that we were not eating three full meals a day in the parks. We weren't hauling around a ton of food all day each day, but we were able to put snacks in our backpack and drinks in small 'lunch box' type soft sided coolers. Between the 6 of us, we took turns carrying these and it really wasn't any worse than having a purse or diaper bag to haul around. Of course on some of the days I was at UCF and hubby and his friend had the kiddies and the food situation all to themselves, but I think they did fine with it too.

Sorry I can't offer any reviews of any of the Restaurant.com locations.

CODES, all I hear is about codes.. I am so far out of the loop. Please tell me where you got the codes for restaurant.com? Thanks I'm trying hard to get it.. :rolleyes1

Hi Donna:

Once you order from Restaurant.com they'll e-mail you about discount codes ... maybe once every week or two (not constantly). But for your initial order one of the easiest things to do is to do a google search using the key words "Restaurant.com code" ... and it should pull up any current codes. You can actually do this for almost any on-line site you might order from "JC Penney code", "Lands End code", "TJ Maxx code", "Staples.com Code" ... all will pull up discount and free shipping codes, etc.

I went ahead and did the search and the current Restaurant.com code is 96152. The code goes in the "Enter Promotional Code (optional)" box on your 'check out' page.

Good luck!

Cariera's Cucina Italiana
$25 Dining Certificate - YOUR PRICE: $10.00
10663 Narcoosee Rd , Orlando, FL, 32832
(321) 235-1931
Cariera's Cucina Italiana is a casual family restaurant located in Orlando.

This is one place I can highly recommend! It's not close to WDW, in fact it's east of the airport off the Greenway. But, it's very close to my house and it's excellent Italian food!

The McDonald's coupons from MCFUN.COM are from the McDonald's franchisee own website and are valid to print and use.

The other coupon says right on it it's not valid if copied. You can get an original coupon at some of the local motels. They'll sometimes take a copy of the coupon but they don't have to and generally won't.

I've only used restaurant.com @ home. Today, I did order the
Entertainment 2005 Book for Orlando. We'll be down in April for nine days,
so I should be able to use a few coupons for dinners. It's on sale for 15.00 plus 5.00 shipping. There are a lot of restaurant coupons, and you can browse the book online. :flower: Have a fun trip!
