I live in Portland too!! I do live in NE though almost in Gresham. I live in the not so scary part of NE. I work in SW Portland St Vincent Hospital) and it is not a bad commute either!! I love living here it still has the small town feel to me. I am from Vancouver, BC originally.

Question about the Oregon/Washington tax situation: If one works in Oregon, but lives in WA, do you have to pay Oregon income taxes? I'm from California and California charges income tax on any income earned within the state.

From what I understand (from friends who do this re working), as long as the address on your paycheck states you're a WA resident, no they will not take that state income tax out.
