Tif - if you guys are thinking about coming to Scotland let me know. I am actually close to Scotland and you'd would be more than welcome to visit. There is some fantastic countryside there

Well I Just got back from my first weigh in with weight watchers and...


















I lost 6 lbs

Needless to say I was extemley pleased, thanks to my cheerleaders

Sorry haven't been around much. Baseball season has officially started

Just wanted to say great job Helen!

I've also started the New Year with some "get in shape" plans. Its our 20th reunion this year and my good friend asked me to be a bridesmaid for her in May...so that means less time here on the boards

How exciting baseball season started. I wish we were playing already. I love that time of year. We start are next month. We leave for Port Charlotte Fl forare spring breask tournement on February 25th for a week. Ican not waite. It is warm there. It is 12 degrees as I typ thi.

Way to go Helen!!! Keep it up! Remember that some weeks will be better than others, just keep your eyes on the prize!!!! If we do Scotland in '08, I will definitely let you know. We might have an idea of it this summer so we can talk while we are in the Med!!!

Flo, I know what you mean about the temp! We are freezing. My folks just got to our Florida house and said it feels great! I am so glad!!! I just wish I was with them!!!

Jen, how fun for you with wedding plans! It is so much fun getting to help others! Will the wedding be in Hawaii? Good luck with baseball!

Hey guys,

Hope you are all ok. I just had a call from the hospital with a date for my endo operation. I am going in March 7th and the op is on the Friday.

I can't believe it - its funny im really pleased but a little aprehensive. The timing is great as its just 2 weeks after my holiday in Spain and it also gives me plenty of time to recover for my med cruise.

Dave is away working so its just me and the dogs again.

Oh well off to make tea.

DA BEARS ARE GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL

What a great memory! I was a Sophomore in college the last time and remember watching in our apartment! You are also right about the Saints. I would have been happy either way...but am a Bears fan. Also a Peyton Manning fan! YIKES!!! Abby is in a pool at school...for a class. She actually picked the Colts vs. Bears in the Super Bowl!!!! I am thinking she is probably the only one to come down with that combo!!!!

Basketball Saturday was WONDERFUL!!!! We played a team that has beat us in our last three meetings. Two of them had been close, one a blow out. They were a very cocky group...and their coach even worse! Must give my darlin' hubby a kudos here...he played his entire bench for at least a few minutes...the opposing coach played only two subs...out of 7...for less than a minute!!! WOOHOO Coach Tom! And yes ladies, in overtime we finally pulled it out! WHEW!!! It was an unbelievable nailbiter...bad calls and all, and we still brought in the win! It was great for the kids. We took the team to the high school game in the evening and the coach brought the boys into the Varsity locker room for the pre-game talk! Our boys were soooo excited!!!

Abby plays tonight. She is playing well, but still struggling with the Varsity and JV coaches. The Frosh coach doesn't do the politics thing...he is skill and merit oriented! WOOHOO!

Just popped in to say hi!
School (at night) starts this week so the stress begins again!

Jen - My 20th is this summer as well! You and Helen need to update us so I can be motivated!!

The kids are starting baseball too. Nicholas and Nolan are on the Angels and Dan is the coach!! yeah!! It makes my life so easy!

I know I have nothing to complain about but we have been freezing here in SoCal!! We are not used to it. How is everyone else fairing in this strange turn of weather?? We are finally beginning to warm up.

Tiff. I know what you mean about coaches and kids. It had to be sucha great feeling for the tem to take the win. It also makes them feel good about them selfs. It will mabe bring the other team backto reality.

Valarie -- Good luck to the boys in baseball. Also, it is nice when the dad is the coach.

I have to wait another month for baeball.

Valerie - I have wondered about the temps for you guys. Must be cold on the baseball field!

Flo - was just noticing your counter, I can't believe it is only 5 months till your trip - that means it's been 1/2 a year since our cruise... sure doesn't seem like that long ago.

Just think, SPRING will be here soon and no more of those yuccky cold days. Jeff, Ansley, Addison and my Mom all have birthdays within the next 2 weeks. This is such a busy time of year for me. Yikes - Ansley's turning 13!

Baseball and soccer are about to gear up around here. Both boys excel in soccer, but are just okay players in baseball. In fact, they don't really care that much about baseball but they like playing on the same team as their cousins. That presents a problem this year with Andrew, because he is moving up in to a new age bracket, and my brother isn't coaching the team so they may not be together. Andrew will be so upset, so I'm already stressing about that.

Carla -- good luck with all of the birthdays!

Flo -- good luck to Steven with baseball!

Tif -- good luck to your kids in their sporting events!

Marci...it might be a good thing to have him play for someone else...just to get used to it. While my personal opinion is that our kids play harder for their own parent who is a coach...they need to see that there are other styles and agendas out there. We are still dealing with some of the coaching issues of high school. Then she has also had the issue of getting a new coach who is quite fair. He is a coach that bases play on merit and hard work...not a name. It has been good.

I will keep you and the boys in my thoughts as transitions occur!

Helen...GREAT JOB!!! Keep going!!!

Have a great weekend all! Only four more weeks till our mini-Florida get away!!! I usually get a couple of solo trips in there...not so this year. I am really ready for it nw though! My folks are staying at the house. Yesterday they called from Japan and I could hear the drums. I made them stay there for the entire show just so I could listen!

OH!!!! Abby invited a young man to the Vice-Versa dance at their high school!!!! Should be good!

Flo, Helen, Jen, Valerie, Tif, Carla, Lisa and all of your families--

I am completely overwhelmed by the gift card and notes in memory of my mother. I feel so lucky to have met you all, and the support you have all given me during these difficult months has really meant the world to me. What a true blessing this group is.

I don't know how many of you watch the show Grey's Anatomy, but I could sort of identify with what the character George said a couple of weeks ago -- he said something like "I don't know how to live in a world where my Dad doesn't exist." It's not that I don't feel like I can go on, it's that it just seems so surreal and unlike the last 40 years. Your support has helped so much with that adjustment.

I will be sure to post what we pick at the nursery to plant in memory of Mom/Mumsey.
