Valarie - We have an office in CA and I was talking to them and they were complaing about he cold 30's so I know what you mean. As I am writting this it is -14 with the wind chill.

Helen - I agree that is great that you stayed the same. See we are all watching over you, as your guardian angels.

Valarie - I know what you mean superbowl in the rain? In the 4th quarter I could not even watch any more I went and played on my computer. The Bears the way they played helped give the Colts the win. Oh well there is always next year. Now on to baseball and the Cubs and Soxs for Tiff and me.

Hi all Happy Valentines day to you all.

I stayed the same this week weight wise, not bad considering I had 3 meals out as it was both my brothers and friends birthdays.

Well I have so much to do tonight.

I need to pack the cases -(my clothes are laid out on the spare bed, but goodness knows what Dave will throw in his case)

The hair dresser is coming - I feel like getting it cut quite short as I want something easy to handle while Im in hospital and recovering.

My head is in a bit of a whirl. Nevertheless it will be worth it IM sure when we finally board the plane.

Things have been very busy here but I miss keeping up with you all. The next couple of weeks are all about baseball, work, and then my friends wedding in May.

Hi all, I cant believe in the week I went to Spain disney announced 2 new ships !!!

Anyway I got back yesterday after a lovely relaxing break. I am also pleased to report I was able to order in a restaurant, shop, and instruct taxi drivers where to go - (i've been taking Spanish classes )

The hotel was lovely -very posh (I booked with them direct and only paid 60 Euros a night. ) Very near to the hotel were a couple of very reasonable supermarkets. (that sold some very reasonable wine )

Weather was in the early 20's and we only had 1 overcast day with a bit of drizzle -but being British we didn't let that spoil us.

One problem though - I now can't wait to get to Barcelona and to get on the cruise

Ive worked out that if I save £10 a week until 2012 I would have £2500 saved, if the exchange rate stays good that would be just until $5000 hopefully enough to get me on one of the new ships

I'm also starting to get a bit anxious as its under 2 weeks till I go into hospital, keep your fingers x for me

Oh well we have nothing in the fridge and mountains of washing is unbelieveable - so I'd better get on

Well My DIS Friends!
It is 3:45AM in and I have been on my computer since 3:00AM. I cannot sleep. We are supposed to leave on Sunday morning for a trip to Port Charlotte, FL to watch Steven play baseball. We are under a winter storm warning! This would mean in all likely hood there would be major delays. The team would not get out either. They are in Milwaukee, WI and they are in the same situation. I sure hope this does not happen. Wish us luck that the snow waits or it does not happen.
Now that things are better I can let all your ladies know what has been going on in my life for the last month. I can talk about it with out tears in my eyes. On February 1st my boss calls all of us office people into the conference room. You could tell by the way he was something was wrong. They decided that are facility was not making enough money and they were going to close it down after year-end inventory, witch is March 31st. I know something was wrong but I did not expect that. I called Danny and I could not even talk. He goes don’t worry about it we will work it out. Well we have a sister company that is out here and I went for an interview and I am not out of a Job. I am so happy, I lucked out. They are a little way from were I work now. At my age it is not an easy thing to find a job and start over. People in are other office said oh come here. They are in New Jersey and California. I said here we go again. I was with my other company 21 years and they decided to down size. Unfortunately in this time and age that is happening all over.

Helen glad you had such a great tip. Sounds like you did well with your Spanish. When do you leave to go to the hospital for your surgery? We will be thinking about you.

Hi Flo,

Since you told me in the email about your job, you have been in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so glad you were about to get a job in the sister company. I really hope the weather holds for you, so you can get to the baseball. I think you need a break from all the stresses you have had. Please remember that we are there for you.

I am admitted into hospital Wed 7th March so they can start the bowel prep and my actual op is on the Friday. Keep your fingers x that they have a bed for me on the day. I have to ring up before I leave home on the Wed to double check. Thats the NHS for us, but at least its free.

Flo -- I hope the weather cooperated. Congrats on finding a job at the sister company. I know how stressed you must have been. Randy was reorganized out of his job two weeks after Mom passed away and a couple of days after Christmas. He didn't tell me, because he was going to be working through the end of February and he didn't want to add to the stress already in my life. Thank goodness, he found a new job fairly quickly. It ended up that his old job is paying him through the end of February, although his new job started Feb. 19th. I was so sad that I hadn't been there to give him comfort and support.

Helen -- sending PD and prayers your way that everything goes as planned. Will you share any pictures from your trip?

Marci- Glad Randy found a job. I could kind of understand why he he did what he did. You had allot on your plate.

We did make it to FL. Are flight was canceled and they did not even call us (American). I just happened to go on line. Then Danny started to call and got us another flight. We finaly got out of Ohare' but it was late. We were supposed to leave at 9:25 and did not till 1:30. Have the people on the flight spent the night at the air port. The weather here is great. The team did not so so well. There is always tomorrow.

Flo -- I hope they start playing better!

Andrew just made a select tournament team, so between that, his regular rec team and Jake's rec team, plus soccer for both, I'm going nuts --but loving our recent weather. I just have to get used to dressing for our weather at 5:30 in the afternoon, and then layering for 8 at night.

We are in the middle of cleaning out Mom's 4 closets, dividing the stuff up between a local women's shelter and two re-sale shops (proceeds going to the new children's playground at Church). Some days it is more difficult than others.

I hope you are all ok. I want to thank you for all the support you've given me. I have decided to do a bit of retail therapy to take my mind of the hospital and I wanted to share with you what I have ordered -

What do you think? I think they will be great for the cruise. Plus with the great exchange rate and the fact that they were half price- well I couldn't get cases any better Just hope they arrive ok from the states.

Wow!!! Flo...how scary a thing to face. It is wonderful that you had Dan to lean on and help you keep the faith. Congrats on the new job! Marci, congrats to Randy on his job. While you feel bad not being able to be there for him...he knew that you were. In the short time we have all gotten to know one another, it is obvious that we all have special men in our lives. You guys have the ability to give comfort and belief in the simple smiles and hugs you give them. Helen, gorgeous on the luggage!!! They look great! next week is going to be great!!! We are currently bummed. Tom got to still go to Florida as it was The Golf Trip. But because of last weekend's bad weather, the Vice Versa dance had been cancelled. They rescheduled for this Saturday. The boys were really mad at Abby, but they understand it now that it wasn't her fault and that you stick with the commitment of a date. We are going to go a week from Sunday instead. I am still a bit frustrated that Tom went ahead and scheduled this over my birthday...since I wasn't originally going to get to go anyway. UGH! I am simply annoyed. thanks for reading!
Well, need to get going to pick up kiddos!

Just wanted to drop in and say hi. We just got home from FL a little while ago. We had great weather. I am a little sun burned. Steven got to catch in a real ball park. He had a grate game to.

This weekend we are off to St. Louis, MO for a baseball tournment. Now my baseball weekends start. I am so excited. I love baseball.
