Happy Holidays Ladies! :santa:

Well, the holidays have officially started here in central Illinois! The St. Vincent bazaar went great! Lots of fun! I got two additional orders for Princess Trees! The 7ft.er that I did went for $175! and the Peacock Tree went for $100. The thing there is that many others were requesting additional ones...but I just couldn't. The other bonus to the ego there was that they all said they would have paid much more than the 100!!! :goodvibes My school color tree did not go :sad2: ...and since I had bought the entire thing...they let me bring it home! Tom and the boys were so excited!!! :thumbsup2 Only two of my signs returned home as well! Definitely a feel good day. Supposed to be at a Bradley U. basketball game...to beat. Was at the bazaar for about 7 hours, so have on How the Grinch Stole Christmas, a fire and the dog curled up near me! All I need is a Bailey's and my blanket! Kidding!

How did Jaclyn fare??? Helen, I am praying. Hope things get better fast. :) Just keep thing...I am sailing the Med in 8 months!!!!! Marci, how's your mom??? We are still praying. I have the boys praying for her at their school as well...so add in a couple of hundred kids in 4th and 6th grade!

We had a scare this week with one of our nieces. Sami...a non-stop hoot...was having severe double vision and getting very sick. Her Ped. immediately took her in for an MRI. Good news was, no tumor and no annurism. The bad news, we still don't know what is causing it. All will be fine, but hate seeing the fear in a child!

Anyway, hope everyone is having a great weekend! Valerie, Lisa, Flo...HI!!! Try not to get to busy!

Love ya

Whew! Just got caught up with everyone!

Helen - I am thinking about you for work. When it's bad at a school, it's bad. PM me if you need to talk more. I have lots of empathy!

Tif - Congrats on the bazaar. That sounds so fun. You must have a great eye for decorating. Can't wait to see pics of your house. I will keep your niece in my prayers.

Marci - How's mom and the boys?

Flo - We got the pirate necklaces. Thanks! Have fun with your son.

Lisa and Carla - hi ladies!

Jen - Hope the pool party was a success. We had one for Nicholas last year and hired a lifeguard. It went very well.

Thanks for the thoughts on the wildfires. It was so sad. They are usually about 1-2 hours away from us. Unfortunately it's a common occurence in CA. Usually arson.

As for the port I believe it is in San Pedro so that's only about 1 hour from where we are depending on traffic. We are ready for visitors so go 2008! Yeah!!

I was showing my friend our cruise pics yesterday and telling her about our group. She was astounded at how we stay in touch and loved the idea of our Dis meet.

My papers for school are going well. Thanks for the thoughts.
I am working on the CDs and will have them to you soon.

Valerie

Morning all - Hope everyone is well. Just dropping in to wave hi :yay:

btw - I saw Holiday Inn on DVD at BJ's on Saturday - don't know if anyone is looking for it - but they had several copies. If you aren't a member or can't find it - let me know and I'll run over and pick some up and mail them out.

I have a special favor to ask if you all don't mind - Emily is doing an assignment on predictions and decided to do hers on disney characters - so - I'm posting this question for her - because we all how 12 yo's are reluctant to actually "ask" so I hope you don't mind. (but she's doing the work)

Who is your favorite disney character?

Hope all is well with everyone.

Hello Ladies!

Thank you for the birthday wishes for Jaclyn. She had a great time at her pool party and got lots of Disney princess gifts....right now Ariel is her favorite.

Here's a pic

Mom is about the same. She's making small steps of progress on weaning from the ventilator, so we hope that will happen and she can get out of ICU.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Ok my Favorate Is Mickey Mouse

:bday: Justin.

Marci, glad your mom is getting better eve nif it is little by little. ;)

Good Morning!

Thanks for the prayers for Sami! They still are unaware of what is going on.

Happy Birthday Justin! party: Hope the pirate pool party is a huge success! I sure sounds like fun! Enjoy heading to WDW!!!! Do the Candlelight Processional and have a hot chocolate for me, please. This is the first time in about 13 years that I will not be down for at least some part of the holiday. It is very hard to think about. The reality is that it just doesn't fit...but I am sad.

Marci...thanks for keeping us updated on your mom. We are keeping her in prayer!!! How are the boys doing????

Flo, is Steven home yet???? ENJOY!!!!

Miss Emily...I am a traditionalist, and have to go with Mickey Mouse with a little TinkerBelle on the side. Tom is also Mickey fan. Abby is Eeyore, with Belle being her favorite princess. Iain's favorites are Pluto and Bambi. Alec is Sorcerer Mickey. My mom puts in her vote for Cinderella.

Valerie, how far are you from Modesto?? Tom's youngest brother and family live there. Tom has gone out a few times. I have yet to go.

If I missed anything sorry! Talk with you all soon!
Love ya

Hi Everyone!!

Thanks, Lisa, I'll check to see if my local warehouse club has Holiday Inn, if not, Flo, I make take you up on your offer. I have that movie on my list of tops to make sure I see this Christmas. (Tell Emily -My favorite is Jack Sparrow. If that doesn't count, then I also like Minnie - she's just so pretty in her formal night gown on the cruises). Ansley loves Donald Duck, and Addison's favorites are Chip & Dale (remember the "double dale" purchase.)

Jen - Happy birthday to your family! Jaclyn is so cute! I just love her curls.

Helen - hope school is going better?

Marci - I'll keep your mom in my prayers.

Valerie - Keep your head up - it's almost winter break! From your own studies, I mean! (Is it legal to mail roaches that are no longer living? Addison has collected a few for Nicholas, and wants to send them tomorrow?) Everyone, remember, Nicholas is the "bug guy" with his own bug web site. Apparently, Georgia has roaches that don't live in Southern California, so we are providing some specimens! YIKES - the things we do for our kids!

Saw Santa Claus 3 last weekend - it was pretty cute. When I left the theater, I was feeling more in the spirit of the holidays. :santa:

Carla, Let me know if you want me to do the DVD for you I would be more then happy.

Tif, yes Steven came home. He got home Friday during the day. He is working alot. He wants money to spend at school. He will leave on Sunday to go back. His Christmas breadk does not start to December 23rd. He only gets 2 weeks, because of his tri mesters. Oh well such is life.

Hope eveyone else is doing well.

I also wanted to tell everyone to have a Happy Turkey Day. Remember this is one time you can eat, eat eat.

Stay safe and enjoy the day.

Hi Gang!

Well, we are in full panic mode here! Been to bed no earlier than 4 every morning for the last week. In changing holiday decor I didn't realize how crazy I was. The scarier thing is that I haven't even gotten started on the big trees! I did a peacock tree for me...it is GORGEOUS!!! I will try to take a shot of it and see if Tom would download for me. It will all be good...it is just that we do Thanksgiving and so I had wanted it all decorated for everyone being here! SIGH!

So...what is everyone going to have for Thanksgiving???? And I almost forgot...I love The Family Man with Nicolas Cage and Tea Leoni also for another holiday movie!!! Tom saw the promo for the 25 Days of Christmas on ABC Family!!!

What are everyone's kids asking for this year???? My saving grace this year is that neither of the boys were asking for the PS3, nor either of the other two! Whew! Abby is asking for a new phone, since her send button doesn't work consistently. The boys want to move into Alec's bedroom...making it a University of Notre Dame room....with Iain's room being their "hang out" room.
What are on your Christmas wish lists???
Marci, how is your mom?? How are you?

Hi Everyone!
Happy Thanksgiving!!
We are leaving right this minute to go up to a cabin in Big Bear.
I'll write when I get back.
Valerie

Tiff, You sure do decorate allot. ;) But that is fun (even in panic mode). We used to when Steven was home but not much any more.

Before I start to think of Christmas for Steven I have to get throught his B Day. His B Day is December 11th. This is a specil one. My baby (sob, Sob)
is turning 21. I am taking that so hard. I do not know were the time has gone. He told us what he wanted for that. We bought him an I pod schuffle. You should see how small it is. It is about the size of a money clip and is 1GB (240 songs). We ordered right from I pod and we were able to get it engraved. We had Happy 21st put on it. He also needed batting gloves. As far as Christmas I don't have any clue.

If the boys don't want PS3 what do they want. I remember those days of standing in line to get something at 5:00 in the morning. For Abby I bet she also wants clothes.

If after all the sales are over and any one is looking for something give me a shout. If I can help you look for it I will.

Valerie, have a safe trip.

Take Care Everyone!

Hello everyone! Mom is still making small steps of progress, and a few steps back, but more forward then back so we'll take it!

She went four hours on Monday without her life support (vent) and 4 1/2 yesterday, but couldn't do any today. I'm okay -- they warned us this would happen. I hope she is able to do some tomorrow. It will be hard without her with us. We are having 22 family members for lunch and dinner. It's the first time dad and I are doing the dressing and gravy by ourselves, so send some PD around 9 a.m. CST tomorrow!

We are big time decorators (making all our wreaths, garlands etc.) but I just won't have time to do much this year. Priorities have changed, but we did stay up late last night so that we could get the tree put up in our bedroom. Jake was insistent on starting to decorate so he helped me. It's nice because I can sit here with it on working on my laptop and it's soothing and peaceful.

I hope you all have fun and safe Thanksgivings (for the ones who celebrate it). I feel blessed to have met you all!

Glad to hear that everyone is well and looking forward to Thanksgiving. Marci...will still send :grouphug: and prayers for your Mom.

We have the usually stuff till you drop day tomorrow. Lunch with John's family and then dinner with my family....I'm planning on doing an early morning jog tomorrow. :teeth:

Our usual contribution to the Thanksgiving feast is the ham. We pack the ham with brown sugar and then pour Coke over it. Got the recipe from Martha Stewart. May sound weird but tastes great!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and Happy Thanksgiving.

Jen

Hi all,

Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Sounds like you are all going to have fun this weekend. A couple of years ago when I was teaching in my first school there was an American who brought in some pumkim pie for us to try. It was not what I expected but quite yummy. I think I expected it to be savoury not sweet.

pixiedust: to all esp Marci.

Im off to work take care all

xx

Marci, Here is more :wizard: and a :grouphug: from us.

Jen, that is how we do are ham except we put sliced pineapples on it.

Marci, I know what you mean about the tree. I just love sitting and looking at it. Are is in the living room and I have my laptip in there with me. ;)

Helen, How are things going with your class? Better I hope.

Take Care
Flo
