Any one on 7-29-06 / 7 Night Western!!!! Is Back

Ok here goes

Favorite Christmas movies:

Holiday Inn
White Christmas
Santa Clause 1 & 2

I was so excited I was able to get Holiday Inn and White Christmas on DVD’s. I paid premium (could not find them on sale) but I love to watch them no matter what time a year it is.

Christmas Music:

Any kind. I play all kind. I even have 98 degrees and that is a great CD; all of Kenny G’s and Michael Bolton’s and about 20 more CD’s.

Add Mannheim Steamroller to my list of favorite Christmas CDs. Love the instrumentals. Flo, I Also love Kenny G's Christmas.

Valerie, I'd love to have one of your Christmas Mix CDs, too. I'll be glad to send postage!

Jen - That is so funny about Dog and his kids trick-or-treating at your house. DH, Jeff watches Dog every week - I just laugh. I'll tell him to watch for you answering the door on the next episode!

Helen - We haven't stayed at Universal hotels - Have heard good things about the Portofino, too. Hard Rock has good reviews on Yahoo travel - 5.5 stars out of 6 possible.

Ansley & Addison got tons of candy - I have been sneaking 4 or 5 pieces a day - that's got to stop soon!

Valerie - your town was in the news this week - Mission Viejo, the 3rd safest city in the entire Nation! Unfortunately, Orlando Florida - near and dear to all of us, was on the Most Dangerous City list.

Mission Viejo is safe and wonderful! I keep telling you guys....come visit. It's still sunny and beautiful too!

CDs coming your way soon! No worries on postage. I might send my Christmas card with it so if I do don't forget to hang our card up with your others! You will definitely recognize it!

Jen - Would love the Hawaiian CD!

I'm a little stressed right now - 2 big papers due for my masters' classes and my student is driving me nuts. He walks around the room spinning his arms about, interupts, chooses to read and then when he discovers that he is behind on his work starts crying loudly and yelling. :furious: :scared1: I lOVE being a teacher!

When does winter break start.......???

Valerie

Valarie, :wizard: abd a :grouphug: coming your way for your masters papers. Good Luckand you go girl :thumbsup2

Valerie and Jen -- I would love the CD's for my collection, and I'd be happy to send postage as well.

Valerie -- good luck with your papers and the student. I know you'll do well!

Flo -- my two all time fav movies are also White Christmas and Holiday Inn. I LOVE the old movies and Bing Crosby is a fave!

Have a great weekend ya'll!

Good Morning everyone! I see I've missed several pages worth of reading. :rotfl: - Um.. Hope everyone is well - mom's, pets, kids, etc. This time of year can really start the "stree-out" moments. Hope things settle down for all.

As for Christmas music -

Jewel's Album :Joy A Holiday Collection - A favorite "chick music" album

Songs:
Back Door Santa - BB King
Also partial to the Big Bad Vodoo Daddy - Everything you want for Christmas Album. As a tradition - and because my kids and husband love this song so much - "Nuthin" ( I'm gettin nuthin for Christmas, Mommmmy and daddddy are mad....) as well as the 'Grandma got run over by a reindeer" - I would also throw in John Lennon - I'm think Imagine - but Give Peace a Chance is up there as well. Merry Christmas Baby by Springsteen, Run, Run Rudoplh - and that oh gosh I can't remember the name of the song - but it was by the waitresses - very pop - almost like the Bangles or B-52's - and of course Santa Baby - don't know the artist -

Happy day everyone

We know the trumpet player in Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. His name is Glen. Glen and Dan, my hubby, used to play in the toy soldier band in the Disneyland Christmas parade! He gets us in to shows a lot and we get to meet the band. Scotty, the lead singer is soooo nice and the bari sax player always makes Nicholas sing him a song and he loves it. Great guys!

Harry Connick's first Christmas album is awesome as well.

Off to school!
Valerie

Valerie...hope things settle down with your student. It has to be hard on you AND his classmates. Cool about Big Bad Voodoo Daddy! Alec desperately wants to play the sax! He has loved it since he was three...but they won't teach them till their lungs are bigger and their fingers longer. He is hoping to start lessons this year. Abby played French horn for about 2.5 years...as soon as we paid it off, she quit! So we will RENT a sax till we know he absolutely loves it.

Marci, we have friends that are moving to the Dallas area. I believe they were saying Frisco...I will double check. The kids are a bit nervous. In the last couple of years two of the kids have come down with juvenille diabetes.
Anyway, their boys are definite soccer players...got any tips on where to get involved in soccer for them? I will email you her email, when she gets it to me. She is a dear...and will know no one. So even if you aren't close...at least it is a friendly voice...with a bit of a connection to back here...that is closer to her than we are!

The boys won their first three games! Awesome! It was wonderful! The bad news is that we have already had a phone call from a parent who took a stop watch to time how much his son played! UGH!!!! We shall persevere! The funny thing was Iain. He was amazing in the third game. Truly didn't know where he came from! The young man whose father had passed away a couple of weeks ago, had an incredible game on Friday night!!!! :cheer2:

Well, better run. Got one more tree for the bazaar to get done! Tom is putting up the fourteen footer here today! That means I get to start lights tonight!

Love yall!

Hi Tinks! That is to funny that both you and Tif have been posting on the board and did not know. See it is a small wark after all! ;)

I have to tell you guys. I an in a Tizzy. I can not find most of my Christmas CD. I am ripping the house appart. We put are tree up yesterday. I love just sitting and watching TV with the tree on. I did find my radio station that plays all Christmas mush now. Tif, not sure if you can get it by you but it is 93.9 on the radio.

Steven, was supposed to come home this weeked (had tickets to WIcked) that neve happend. He had a project due. I told him loose the money ofr the tickets or project for schoool? No brainer for me. Oh well.! He will be home for Thanksgiving on the Friday before. They get a week off because he is on Tri Mesters. I can not wait for him to come home. Not that I will see him much.

Sorry to keep going on and on.! But I know you are all good listeners.

Take Care everyone!

Hi Tinks! Have to tell you that this group of gals is really special! We have been blessed to continue a pre-cruise friendship. They are fun and encouraging! Thanks for the closet! It was perfect!

Flo...SSOOOOOOOOO sorry about Wicked. :sad2: But, good for Steven staying to do the work he needed. Good advice from you for where his future will lie!

Good morning all! Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend!
OH...got the tree for the bazaar done! WOOHOO :woohoo: Okay though...I have one more 4.5 footer that I want to do with a school theme! That one should only take me a couple of hours so no biggie...and I won't add any extra lights.

Well, I had best run!
Love y'all!

Waving Hi to everyone :wave2: Flo - I'm so sorry about Wicked - I know you were looking forward to it - but I also understand that they have projects and expectations that effect their grades which are something future employers look at! :sad1: I'm still sorry for you that you had to miss it.

OMG - Christmas Trees already! You guys are sooo organized - I am soo impressed.

gtg now - just stopping at lunch to say hello :sunny:

I just read the thread about no cruises to the Caribbean again in summer 2008. Speculation is for California - if that's the case, Valerie, we may be taking a trip to visit your family before our cruise!!
What is the cruise port in CA? Near you?

Flo - sorry about Wicked, but you should be proud of Steven - sounds like he is very responsible. I came across a station playing Christmas music today, and though of you.

Haven't ever seen Holiday Inn, but would love too - think it's too old to rent, or will I have to purchase on-line?

Addison just watched "Elf." It's a cute one, too.

I lover Elf to. I have that one also. I have Holiday Inn on CD also White Charistmas. I can do a CD of Holiday in for you if you like. Let me know.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments about Steven. I am very proud of him. I do not think I could do what he does and go to school, play sports and have a life. With Wicked I think I was more disappointed in alone time with him. That does not happend often. I miss those days. But I guess growing up is a port of life.

I know what you mean about 2008. Valarie may have us all out there. Look out Valarie here we come.
Take care eveyone.

Hi all,

Hope you are all ok.

Well Dave is in Malta, so its just me and the dogs again. I can't believe we are in countdown to christmas.

When you say you are putting trees up are they real or artifical ? I cant imagine how the needles stay on if their real.

We always get a real tree, but never until about the 16th December -although this year we might not bother and just use our fibre optic ones as we are away for christmas.

Val - we are planning to go to WDW in 2008, but I guess we could always visit CA ( I think Dave would freak out though, hes a bit cruised out) :goodvibes

By the way Val - I hope you guys are alright- on our news this morning it was talking about wild fires in CA -You are in my prayers- I know CA is big, but its really funny my ears now prick up when I hear about certain states on the news despite it being 6:30am

Take care all xx

Helen, Yes my tree is not real. BUt we used to do a real one and we would get it the day after turkey day. Needles were not to bad either.

Also, update on my CD's I found them :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc . They were in the garage with my other christmas things for work.

Val, did not know about what is going on in CA, hope things are ok by you.

Later. Have to get ready for work.

Good Evening Ladies!

Just a quick hello. Nice to see everyone chatting! Got done with my last tree for the bazaar tonight. Turned in my last two wreaths! YEAH!!!!

Now we just get to get busy on our house! That will be a couple weeks of busy! Saturday morning will find us at the bazaar though! Part of me wants to be there to see what people think of my work...and another part of me is worried that I will hear negative! Au weia! I liked what I did and had lots of fun! That's the bottom line...and if it brings in a bit for the school!!!

Talk with you all tomorrow!
Love you
tif

Helen.....we do get fresh trees shipped from Oregon, Washington, etc. which arrive around Thanksgiving. You can imagine that with our heat in Hawaii by the time New Years comes the tree is a fire hazard :sunny:

I love fresh trees but we noticed in the past that when we had a fresh tree the boys would get bad asthma....so now we have the fake tree and I usually buy a wreath for the smell.

We are so crazy busy the next couple of weeks with the birthdays and holidays. Jaclyn turned 3 today! I had cupcakes all ready for preschool but ended up taking her to the Dr. who said she has a sinus infection. Her pool party is this saturday so hopefully she's feeling better by then.

Talk again soon...and I'll try to work on the Hawaiian Christmas CDs.

Aloha,
Jen

Hope Jacyln feels better soon.

I am having a very bad time at the moment with work, please think of me. Its so good to know I have friends I can talk to, despite being thousands of miles away.

love and best wishes
Helen xx

Jen, Tell Jaclyn I said :bday: and I hope she feels bettern. I hald sinus infections I can't even amagin what that poor liffle girl feels like.

Helen, pixiedust: to you hope school gets better for you.

Tif, as long as you had fun with what you did and you like the way they came out that is all that matters. Just remember one thing people will take no matter what.

Got to go
