Any one on 7-29-06 / 7 Night Western!!!! Is Back

Good afternoon!

Well, we are officially done with soccer. Both boys lost their tournament games last night. So...on with basketball for the boys. Tom held the first night of try-outs last night as well. Two more rounds for 6th grade. He has to go and help the other coaches make cuts for their teams. That is something he did not have to do in the girl's world. I hate that part. Better him than me! Abby is at practice. Golf goes at least through next Wednesday...Regionals. Then hopefully to Sectionals. Tom doesn't think she will make state this year...but that can be good.

The Girl's Getaway...so far January could work for...
Flo, Marci...after birthdays though!!!...Lisa, and me. Helen, we understand but will look forward to when you can! Jen, I know you will have just been at Christmas...but maybe??? :wizard: Valerie, how about you??? Anyone I am forgetting????? This could work ladies!!! Imagine...a pool (okay, Jen has that all the time, and we are happy for you!!!)....WDW....no kids for a few days...tempting!!! I can always throw in there Outlet shopping!!!

Talk with you all soon. Tonight is both my mom and Tom's mom's birthday. So lots of fun!
Love ya
tif

Tif -- that's amazing they share the same birthday. My mom turns 65 tomorrow. We are taking cake, flowers, presents and balloons to the hospital for her.

Hope you had a great celebration today!

Valerie -- yes, that was caught in the trap right inside our door from the garage to the mud room. Luckily, we don't find as many as we used to, but Jake was bitten by one last year. He came down on top of it with his knee, as he was kneeling to put a shoe on. It was sick (that $50 a month pest control scorpion poison seems to work that is sprinkled around the outside of the doors, just SLOWLY -- ssshhh don't tell Nicholas...) so that it didn't hurt him too bad. I tell you, I don't think I was really cut out to be a boy mom. I don't like snakes, cockroaches, scorpions, spiders, mice etc.

When Nicholas saw the picture he said some long scientific name. He said, "Oh, that's a blah, blah, blah!" Whatever. I just nod and smile. Remember how I was going to secretly get an exterminator. Well, both Nicholas and Nolan saw the ad on the counter and made this big deal and wanted to rip it up. It was so funny.

Tif - I don't think I can make the girls visit. But keep me posted. Who knows, sometimes my mom feels sorry for me and helps me go. Dan goes to New York in January for a jazz conference and I said how I wasn't going to go because we didn't have the money. And then I go and say I want to go visit my friends! Hmmm..... So, we'll see. How about Carla?

Aloha All!

Tif...I don't think I'll be able to make January. Now that Jackie is in preschool I'm back in the office and we'll be opening a new Maui location, and hitting the trade shows next year. But if I can help with anything...like sending some Kona coffee or pineapple for the get together let me know!

Val....the boys site is tooooo cool! I love that they will have business cards and do birthday parties if possible. Its so neat to see kids so interested in something so young. I'll be sure to take pictures of our local creatures for Nicholas.

The boys will start winter baseball this Friday...so my mini sports-free vacation is over.

Does anyone else's kids play Runescape? Jonathan and Justin are really into it and it would be cool if they had "cruise friends" on it too.

Aloha,
Jen

Morning!

Jen, what is Runescape?

I agree with Jen the boys web site is cool. To be that young and doing a web site. Good for them.

Flo,

Runescape is a medieval world on the internet. Your character basically lives in a medieval time where they must do everything from catching the food, choppping wood for the fire, cook the food, etc.

There are wizards, dragons, special swords, etc. Our boys are really into in and so are many of their friends. Its cool stuff.

Have a great weekend all!

Jen,
It does sound cool. I am sure if Steven was young I would have known aobut it. He loved thinkgs like that when he was the boys ages.

Good morning all. You boy mom's out there really have my respect. I just couldn't do the whole scorpion, spider, snake thing. I would try - but I get the heeby geebies just thinking about scorpions in my house. Give me sobbing teenage girls who are in a constant upheavel with friends over who have the same socks on the third tuesday of the blue moon any time! :rotfl:

Hope all is well with everyone

Hi all!!!

Jen...what business do you do again??? I am so bad, and unfortunately too lazy to go back and look through the posts! Sorry!!! I think it is so neat when you can do things together! Did you end up with some works from the Park West auctions??? We didn't buy in July...but we definitely did in September. Our first from this year came yesterday. Last year we got a Destinoand so this year Tom added two more. We are still waiting for the rest of what we did in Sept., but it is always fun getting to see what comes!!!

We will have to do a couple of these get togethers so that we can all make it!!! Remember...no lodging costs, and we don't need to go into the parks the whole time! Also, I have a couple of good friends who are cast members and would be able to get a couple of deals on tickets in!

Jen and I are lucky in the opportunity to be boys' moms and girls' moms! The scarier thing for me is that Abby is as into some of the creepy crawlies!!! They were working with their golf coach in Florida and there was a six foot Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake. They were so excited when they cut the head off and dumped the guts out..."oohh Mom isn't that cool???" I decided to stay inside and still almost threw up!

Can anybody cruise September 15th of 2007????? That will just be Tom and I. Maybe we could coordinate a 2008 as well!

Well, I had best get going!

Love you all!

Hi all,

Tif....we operate gift shops at the Honolulu Airport and Maui Airport. The past almost 3 years I stayed home with Jackie but still did the books at home. I hardly went into the shops.

Now that Jackie is in preschool I'm back at the office most days ( still do the books at home ). Anyway, after 3 years away the shops are in need of some major rehab. :wizard: Its been really crazy the past 3 weeks whipping the shops back into shape and cleaning out old merchandise. But I can't complain since I was able to stay home with Jackie.

So....now its back to the trade shows for me. I'm trying to convince John that we need to go to the Surf Expo in Orlando in January :teeth: Would be soooooo nice to visit WDW without the kids :woohoo:

Aloha,
Jen

HI All!!!

Abby has made it to Sectionals! We head up to the Rockford, Illinois area on Sunday for a practice round.

party: party: Hooray for Abby!! party: party:

Sending lots of PD and prayers to her for spectacular rounds!

Tif -- thanks for posting about next September. We would LOVE to be able to join you, but we don't have a good option for someone to watch the boys for that long.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Hooray for Abby! :thumbsup2

I'll look into September 15, 2007 - but school and kids and finding someone to take care of them is a bit of a problem - and Emily is too old to miss that much school anymore :guilty: - she spends weeks catching up and is so stressed it just doesn't seem worth it.

We are off to NYC tomorrow for the day- we are finally seeing the play Wicked - I bought the tickets last January and this was the first Matinee on a Saturday with decent seats that I could find so wahoo! Of course its going to be rainy after 2 weeks of beautiful fall weather....

Hope everyone has a great weekend

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Way to go Abby :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
Lots of pixiedust: :wizard: Abby :woohoo: :woohoo:

Lisa,I have tickets for Wicked in Chicago on November 4th. It is for me and Steven. He loves plays. He used to do the lights for plays in high school. It wanted to do this in College but he does not have the time. i also figure this will be one on one time for me and him. That does not happen much.

Take care eveyone.

Thanks all for the PD and good wishes!!! :goodvibes

You guys are going to LOVE WICKED!!!! I have seen it three times, and had tickets for a fourth. The boys wanted to see it so badly, but it did not work out. I saw it last November for the first time and then was able to talk the 8th grade into going for their class trip! Tom also took me for my birthday! It is a lot tamer than the book...and the music is outstanding. My favorite song is For Good...but there are so many good ones. Let me know who plays Fiyero! ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am excited as my theater friend and I are going to Chicago to see the pre-Broadway opening of The Pirate Queen! I am sooooo excited!!!!

Jen...how exciting to be involved in owning shops! If you have the ability to carry any Beijo bags, give it a shot. I used to be a rep for them, but they have since put them into several stores...it makes it hard to do the home party kind of thing. But it might be worth a look for your shops.

As to September cruising....our kids have to stay in school at that time too. There is no way to catch up on homework anymore!!! There is a teacher at the boys school who is wonderful with kids. Since we started using her, we discovered that several friends use teachers when they travel. School work gets done, they are generally very organized, and usually enjoy being with kids. Give it a thought!!!!

If we can't make September 2007 work, then we have to find another time to try to all cruise together again! And we definitely need to coordinate a WDW get together!!! Anyone who can in January lets do it...let me know good dates for you all! Then maybe we can find a time when everyone has the ability to get down to WDW kids and all.

Talk with y'all soon! Remember...pray tomorrow. She isn't hopeful for making it out of Sectionals, but we do think if she plays her game she could.

Bye!!!

Tif -- how did Abby do?

HI!

Well, we are not advancing to the State Finals. But Abby definitely has the right to keep her head held high!!!! She missed the state cut by only five strokes. She shot an 88 today and worked for most of it...not a single break in her favor. The greens were really tough...there was one hole that literally the ball was behind the hole, for another young lady. She tapped it...TAPPED it...it rolled 20 feet past! No joke! That is how alot of the greens played. Lots of trees, lots of sand, and lots of water. Fortunately Abby was only in the sand once today...and no water! She laid up thanks to her practice round. Most of them she could clear...IF she hit the ball straight and true...but why risk it. There were a few holes I thought she might lose her composure on, and she didn't. She really held it together and made all of us quite proud. Again she was the first to assist others in looking for balls, and with an encouraging word when one would hit an errant shot. Yes, I am quite the proud mom! Her teammates were a bit down, both shooting 97's.

All in all, a beautiful day! She didn't hit her goal, but she has much to be proud of. I am mentally exhausted...and just starting to warm up! Tom and the boys had a huge banner over the garage for when we got home! She had the biggest tears! Good ones!

Thanks for the prayers and the pd! I have to say that I am so grateful to know that you guys are there. It is a wonderful group of friends that we have! You have all blessed me greatly! Thank you!

Abby has every right to be proud of herself! It sounds like she did outstanding! I know she has to be disappointed - but wow! look out next year! Give her and yourselves a :cheer2: :dogdance: Its great to have such supportive parents.

BTW - Wicked was awesome! It is in my top 3 favorite B'way shows so far. Fiyero was played by Derrick Williams. Whoo baby! But still, by far, Elephaba was the star of the night - Eden Espinoza - man her voice is amazing - she brought the house down in No Good Deed - and No one Mourns the Wicked. Of course Emily loved Ginda and can't stop singing "Popular". I'm going to look for tickets to see it again - but figure I bought these tickets in December and October was the first weekend matinee available - so maybe next summer! :rotfl2:

How is everyone else? Hope all is well!

Tif -- it sounds like Abby did well -- that's not much to miss the cut by. She is really young to be playing so well -- I know you are proud!

Hi, Lisa. Are you getting excited about your next cruise? It will be here before you know it!

I hope everyone has a great day!

Hi!

Thanks for the support and the kudos!!! By the way, Marci, how did your mom's birthday go? How is she??? Same question applies to everyone's moms???

Good luck on the next round of Wicked tickets! I hope that there is a good matinee available. The first two times I saw it Ana Gasteyer was Elphaba. She used to be on Saturday Night Live. She did a great job, but I must say, I think her understudy did a better job when we went with Abby's class. Sometimes that understudy is so hungry for her/his chance that they really give 110%! I will let you know about The Pirate Queen. It should be on Broadway late November-early December I think. So, if Wicked is in your top three...what two round it out????

Jump in everyone on top three theatre productions!!!

See ya!

Sorry - I hit submit - arg!

Please let me know how the Pirate Queen is - I've been curious.

My top 3 are Wicked, Chicago, and Hairspray. Of course I loved Movin' Out too.... and the costumes of the Lion King... Ok -

Good idea - what does everyone else like? Anyone have some shows they just loved?
