Any one on 7-29-06 / 7 Night Western!!!! Is Back

Valerie -- I have a great scorpion caught in a glue trap right now -- it has the longest tail I've ever seen on a scorpion! We have monthly service and still can't get rid of all of our critters. Randy was bit by a brown recluse several months ago...... we've called a company called Spider Be Gone and hope to have a system put in before next summer.

I guess Nicholas would not want to visit my house.....

Have a good one -- hope your problem student behaves today!

Take a picture! Take a picture! Nicholas loves pictures of scorpions. Especially ones of people he knows.

Marci...how did Randy do??? There was a gentleman that died here in central Illinois after being bit by a Brown Recluse about three summers ago. Freaked me out completely! Let me know about the spider system...PLEASE!!!

Abby did great today. No three putts!!! That is always a big one...it does so much for the mental side of golf! She did have a few issues here and there with her chipping game...and was under a couple of trees. She stayed in bounds all day...did have a water issue...but got two pars and one birdie!!! She had the low score for her school by six strokes...and was still disappointed in herself. Good! We did FREEZE though!!! I treated the girls to Hot Hands, which definitely helped them! We did offer to the other teams as well...and they turned us down. Oh well.

Well, talk with you guys later!
Thanks for the PD!!!

Tif...Abby sure is doing great! Maybe the next Michelle Wie...who by the way goes to the same school as my younger son Justin....though she is never there ;)

With all your golf experience maybe you can make some recommendations...my parents want to take a golf vacation next spring with their friends...I'm getting them the timeshare unit with my Marriott weeks...anyway....would love some info on good golf courses in Orlando area or nearby.

Aloha,
Jen

:thumbsup2 to Abby. She is doing great for herself and school :sunny:

Marci, glad Randy made it trhought the spider bite.

Hi everyone else.

Tif -- glad Abby did so well!

Randy was bit in bed during the night. He noticed it the next morning, then remembered that during the night he had felt something on him and brushed it off. He went to his dermatologist that day and they gave him three prescriptions -- an antibiotic, a steroid and something else -- can't remember, think it was an antihistamine?

It got really large and the red spread down his arm, but thankfully he never got the huge hole that opened up. He did have a crater that was purple for weeks but it never opened up, thank the Lord!

The system I was talking about is spiderbegone.com. They have dealers in Florida, but I don't think they do in Illinois. We have friends that put it on their lakehouse, and they are very happy with it. We plan on doing it within the next couple of months.

Have a good day, everyone!

Valerie -- I got in too late from the hospital last night, but will definitely get Nicholas a picture of our "guest".

Thanks Marci! I can't believe that Randy got bit and was so lucky. That is so scary. Hopefully his story will help Nicholas understand why we need exterminators!!
Valerie

UPDATE!! Nicholas found the cockroach this morning.Whew! He was getting a pencil box out of his backpack and there it was.

Val...how big is the roach  You must have the patience of a saint....my first instinct would be to smack the things :teeth:

Congrats of finding the critter. Valerie, you sound so calm and patient when talking about it. I would be more like Jen...kill first ask questions later!

Thanks Marci on the spider be gone info!

This is our favorite weekend of every two years...THE RYDER CUP is on!! :woohoo: Go USA...sorry Helen!!!

Would some time in January work for a girl's getaway in Florida??? What times are best for everyone throughout the year???

See ya

Tif...I'm so glad that things work out!

What a weekend. It is only 10:30 here in Illinois on Sunday...but it feels like it should be 10:30pm. Alec had an awesome soccer game early on Saturday. He was wonderfully filthy by the time it ended with a win! Abby had a huge tournament that she was playing well in. Major storms came in and we had about an hour delay...under a tree and a bunch of umbrellas!! She actually plays better in bad weather. Well, she was doing great on the first six holes of the back nine...she was at about a 26...right at par. Hole sixteen she absolutely imploded with a 10...did fair on 17 with a 4 and just couldn't quite get her head back in there for number 18...she took an 8. She was crushed!!! But as Freshman go...she is definitely the best out there. She and Tom are heading out today...her grip has gotten a little askew and so they are tweaking!

She only plays a couple times this week and then a week from Wednesday begins Regionals!!! Well, have a great Sunday all! Enjoy!

Tif, know what you mean about the rain. We have had terrible rain since Friday here. On Friday it scary on my way home from work. The streets were flooding all over. I was glad to make it home. Then yesterday we had horrible ran a few times again. Today it rained inthe morning and now it is pretting nice.

Glad Alec had a great game. Sounds like Abby is holding her own to.

Right now we are watching the Cubs. My DH turned the Bears off he could not take it.

Hey Tif,

There is no need to be sorry, we won ;)

We had a hectic weekend, my mams birthday party was great, if not exhausting - I spent from 8am until 8pm in the kitchen cooking and serving. My mam really enjoyed it though.

Dave arrived back saftely (thanks for the thoughts) from Eygpt and told me that he nearly had a serious accident on one dive when his air had not been properly put on and it ran out. :scared1: Thank goodness he always dives with a buddy and that he has a small pony tank for a back up. Apart from that, the diving was amazing and he had a brilliant time. ( I also got given a lovely 18 c necklace with a mixture of white & Yellow gold.)

I think it will be 2009 before we get back to the usa, so can I put my name down for then :goodvibes Hopefully we will all be able to meet up then. Yous will of course promise to send me photos if you guys manage to meet up before then. :rolleyes1

Well Im off to bed - hope you all are ok
Take care
Helen x

Hey, Tif. I'm not sure if any one time of year is better than another for me. Randy and Jake both have birthday's in January (5th and 14th) but other than that, I don't have that many things planned yet.

Sending PD for Abby for golf this week, and especially for Regionals. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Helen -- glad the party went well and Dave made it home safely.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Valerie -- I finally have THE picture and need to get it uploaded.

Ew! Ew! and EW!

I may have tons of traffic and people - but I'm sooo glad I don't have scorpions to pull out of traps! Give me a slug anytime! Marci - I don't know how you do it.

Helen - glad that your moms party was a success - you certainly gave it your all - and how scary about Dave - I'm glad hes ok.

Tif - glad things turned out for you - A baby would have been a blessing - but certainly terrifying as well. We get settled in our ways and a change like that would have been a big change for everyone.

Likewise Valerie - you must have the patience of a saint with all those creepy crawlers in your house.

Go Abby! Good luck out there.

Flo - I think your rain/flooding hit here yesterday. Its a swamp out there and Emily is playing (just started learning) Field Hockey. So I now join the legions of other moms in the rain and cold cheering on a game I had never heard of prior to moving to NJ. I hope you don't have any more terrifying drives to/from work anytime soon.

Jen - my mom just got back from her first cruise - to Hawaii of all places! She loved it and brought me back the best coffee. You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful state (I'm sure it has its draw backs as well)

Hi to everyone else. Hope September is finding everyone happy and healthy. January is ok for me if it works for others.

Lisa

Wow! That is awesome! Thanks Marci. Nicholas was so excited. Was that in your house? I'm sure he will research it and tell you exactly which kind it is. Our friend brought us one back from Arizona and Nicholas said it's the most deadly one in the US. Boy, I am patient. It's in this huge cage so there is no worries. He and his friend have just started making a web page (this is to keep them busy so I don't have to buy more cocroaches for the "show" they want to put on).

Too funny!
Off to teach the kiddos.....

Good afternoon!

Well, we are officially done with soccer. Both boys lost their tournament games last night. So...on with basketball for the boys. Tom held the first night of try-outs last night as well. Two more rounds for 6th grade. He has to go and help the other coaches make cuts for their teams. That is something he did not have to do in the girl's world. I hate that part. Better him than me! Abby is at practice. Golf goes at least through next Wednesday...Regionals. Then hopefully to Sectionals. Tom doesn't think she will make state this year...but that can be good.

The Girl's Getaway...so far January could work for...
Flo, Marci...after birthdays though!!!...Lisa, and me. Helen, we understand but will look forward to when you can! Jen, I know you will have just been at Christmas...but maybe??? :wizard: Valerie, how about you??? Anyone I am forgetting????? This could work ladies!!! Imagine...a pool (okay, Jen has that all the time, and we are happy for you!!!)....WDW....no kids for a few days...tempting!!! I can always throw in there Outlet shopping!!!

Talk with you all soon. Tonight is both my mom and Tom's mom's birthday. So lots of fun!
Love ya

;) Marci, I agree Ew Ew!

Valarie, I ditto it you have the patients of a saint.

Lisa, I know what you mean about being out side in the cold and rain. It seams that when we play baseball in Spring it is colder then when football is played. I have oftern said they need to switch.

Tif: I remember when Danny had to make cuts for teams. I could never do that. I feel so bad for them. When gold is over for Abby will she play any thing else? At least you will be in side with basketball.
:bday: to the moms! :cheer2:

My first game (baseball) for Steven will be October 14th. I can not waite. The sad part is that will be the only game till we go to Port Charlotte Florida.
Oh Well at least I have one till Feb.

Take care everyone!
