Any one on 7-29-06 / 7 Night Western!!!! Is Back

Okay...still trying to figure out the whole pumpkin thing! UGH! I am so computer illiterate!
Sounds exciting with a new company! Once the influx of work gets under control it will be wonderful. Have a great time at the ball game! Have you ever used the Hot Hands hand packs? They are very helpful...as we have used them at the state track meet and several golf tournaments!

Good luck to Nolan! We always ask the kids before golf tournaments or basketball games or whatever..."What's your job?" They all know that their number one response is "Have Fun!" It helps keep them a bit more up...without the added pressure.

Tonight is the Pep Rally...Abby has been entered in the three-legged race with a really tall young man. Should be hysterical!

I leave for Florida Sunday morning about 3am. The kids will have left here around 12:30am...from Homecoming. Should be interesting!

Have a great day all!

Hi guys.

Tif -- safe travels! I hope Abby had a great time at Homecoming!

Mom went in to cardiac arrest last Thursday, but they were able to revive her. She's been in ICU since then, with a 10% chance of ever leaving. So far, she's holding her own, so we are hopeful she'll be in that 10%. They have to give her a powerful heart medication, but it will shut down her organs if she takes it too long. She's been on a vent, and will lose her toes (because of the medicine).

They had her in radiology to have an x-ray because she sounded congested and complained of shortness of breath. She had the arrest there, which is very close to ER, so they rushed her there. Turns out, she had pneumonia with septic.

Your PD and prayers would be very much appreciated!

Jen -- I hope you are well -- I just read about the earthquake. Sending PD and prayers your way!

Marci,
pixiedust: pixiedust: and prayers are with you and your family. Hope all turns out well.

Marci...sending much :grouphug: :grouphug: and Aloha to you, your Mom, and family.

And thanking you for thinking of us during your ordeal....but we are fine...just a bit shaken.

I was sitting with Jackie watching Dora when the earthquake hit. At first it was a little shaking and DH and I excited said I think its a earthquake. Then it really started to shake and that was scary. You could hear the wood in the roof creaking and see the roof shaking and the pool water turned into waves.

Living here all my life this is the first quake I ever felt. We had no damage.

The bigger worry for us was a tsunami threat. We live right on the ocean and this was the 1 time I didn't like it!

10 minutes after the quake our whole Island lost power. It took 30 minutes for the first radio station to come on line and we were frantically trying to find out about a tsunami warning. Fortunately no tsunami was generated but the unknowing was the worst. The kids were scared and we had packed up bags just in case we needed to evacuate.

Well...it turned out to be a long boring day for the kids without power. We finally got power at 11:30 pm. We played all the board games, and were even doing "guess the shadow puppet" :teeth:

Quite the day! Most damage is on the Big Island of Hawaii where the quake was closest. Still no reports of death which is the best news.

Well gotta get going...I'm sure the Airport will be a mess today and we gotta get our shops in order....the tikis statues were knocked off shelves.

Jen

Jen,

glad to hear you are okay and safe. hope the shops held up okay!! the board games are always a big hit at our house!!! would have loved to have seen the shadow shapes!! How did the kids school fare? were they able to go back today without incident?

we will keep you and the islands in our prayers!

Jen, I agree glad you are ok. Hope things are back to normal out there soon. ;) Keep us posted.

The next segment of my hair fiasco...

stopped at Walgreens and got the OOPS thing that is to take out the color that you just got done. well...put it on, and waited...washed, rinsed, washed, rinsed, conditioned. then dry. now it is such a neon shade of orange that i would scare away any clown. :rotfl2: yes...i said ORANGE...NEON ORANGE. :lmao: Okay, got the okay to add different color. did. waited. rinsed. added a couple of highlights. rinsed. conditioned. dry. and well...at least the maroon shade is gone, and my head is no longer glowing. it is definitely a bit more red than usual...but i can deal with it. don't know what is going on with miss carrie. she is usually wonderful!!!

well...good night all! hope this adds a bit of levity into everyone's day! hope too everyone in texas was okay today!

Hello Ladies!

Things are pretty much back to normal on Oahu. Still some problems with power and traffic signals not working but we are fine.

School was open yesterday though Jonathan's school's AC wasn't working.

On top of the earthquake we've been having really stormy weather with flash flooding and last night the storm hit the Big Island. :guilty: Seems like everything is happening at once.

Again... Hawaii is very fortunate that there has been no deaths.

Hope you all are well!

Jen

Jen, gald to hear that things are getting back to normal. That is great that there were no deaths so far. Take care
flo

Hi, guys. Mom is still hanging in there. She's making some progress, so we feel really fortunate.

Thanks for the prayers and PD.

Jen -- I'm relieved that you are all safe. I hope the weather settles down.

Marci...glad to hear of the positive progress! We will continue to pray! Don't forget to get rest for yourself! Your boys will need to know that you are safe and healthy...it will give them peace of mind.

Tomorrow I head back to Illinois. It has been gorgeous down here! Today was quite warm though. It gets harder each time I leave. I hate it. Someday we won't have to go. :)

well all...have a beautiful day!
