Any one on 7-29-06 / 7 Night Western!!!! Is Back

Hope everyone has a great and safe 4th of July.

Just got back home from the championship game...It was an exciting game but we didn't win. The final score was 12-11. It was a tough loss.....but we broke down in the end and allowed the other team to come back :sad2:

All the kids played well so thats all you can expect. There is always another game :teeth:

We'll probably be at the :beach: tomorrow. Hope you all have a great day!

Jen, sorry to hear about the game. :sad2: Those are tough ones. You could look at it this way now you can get into full cruise swing.

Have a great day. :sunny:

Happy July 4th everyone!~ :beach:

It took me a while to catch up with everything - it sounds like everyone is busy! I just returned from a surprise weekend at HersheyPark and Spa :love1: It was my birthday and DH booked it for me as a surprise! I've never been to a spa before and boy could I get used to that! Not to mention being wrapped chocolate fondue stuff and taking a soak in a whipped cocoa bath - I swear I gained 10 lbs just smelling all that chocolate!

I haven't seen the target shirts - but I did order some things from Billy Bones pirate locker http://www.deadmentellnotales.com/ - the shirts were cute - but they were $20 - although my dd says she wants to wear hers to the premire of POC this weekend and wear it for Halloween so it might pay for itself! :)

Hope everyone is well and I can't wait! We are going to WDW on 7/25 - we aren't on the dining plan ( I was told we couldn't be when I called for reservations) - we do have ADR for the Poly Luau, and the French restaurant (my dd loves escargot - which I tricked her into trying years ago by saying they were clams) - silly me - now I have a monster that is always asking if they have escargot - sorry honey - Mickey D's is all out! :rotfl:

Have a great day

;) Lisa, that is a great web site. I checked it out alittle I have to go back on and look in to it more. :sunny:

Sounds like you had a good time at the spa! :) :bday: Happy Birthday! :bday: Be it early or late. :sunny:

Happy 4th to everyone!! :smickey:

Jen -- sorry about the game, but I'm glad to hear the kids played well. I am so jealous that you can so easily go to those awesome beaches.

Lisa -- Happy Birthday! Sounds like you had a really great visit to the spa. Chocolate wraps and soaks -- sounds truly wonderful!!

Hello Flo, Helen, Tif, Carla, Korea Ears and any other regular posters I have missed. :wave2:

I just need to reach out right now because I'm feeling shaken up - but our house was struck by lightening this afternoon and now that the immediate crisis is past - I feel like I can let it all out and cry. Everyone is safe and thats what matters - but my dh and I weren't home at the time (we had gone to the grocery store) - my kids were home with my mom when it hit. I guess my mom panicked and wouldn't stop screaming and dd (just turned 12) called the fire dept and then us. There is no phone call in the world like hearing your child say "Mom, I'm trying really hard not to panic, but our house got hit by lightening, I think I smell fire and grandma is freaking out" while you are standing in line at the check stand. We were only about 10 minutes away and the fire dept beat us home. They checked everything out and luckily there was no fire started. I thank god and pixie dust and whatever else might be out there that my kids are safe. Please forgive my weeping and dumping all this out there - and to top it all off - my dd said "Mom, I kept telling myself "your braver than you feel, your stronger than you know," after the thing that Piglet kept saying in a pooh movie.
Thanks for listening everyone and again I'm sorry to complain to people I don't "know" in person - I just needed someone to talk to.

Lisa -- how horribly scary that must have been! You can come and vent anytime. We are all DIS friends, after all. I hope that typing it helped you start to work through it, and I hope your kids and mom are beginning to settle down. Prayers and PD being sent to all of you. :wizard: :wizard:

Lisa, reach out all you want, we are here for you. :grouphug: Your DD is one brave little girl. :cheer2: :cheer2: for her. I am glad every one is ok. ;)
You are not complaing you are venting, vent all you want. ;) We are your DIS Family. :wizard:

Lisa, what a brave and sensible daughter you have. You must be very proud of her.

Is there much damage? I really feel for you and how shaken up you must feel.

Last Aug when we were @ Kennedy Space Centre we were caught up in a horrible down pour. Lightening struck just a few feet away from Dave. We both screamed and ran towards the bus. It was a really scary experience.

I am so Glad that everyone safe, that is what matters.

My thoughts and prayers are for you.

Sending you some pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Lisa,

Your daughter really showed composure during such a scary event. It is really amazing how strong kids can be.

Thankfully no one was hurt and your house is okay. Just reading your post gave me goosebumps so I'm sure it must have been terrifying for you and your family.

Sending much Aloha and Pixie dust your way! :grouphug:

Jen

Wow, Lisa, pretty scary! I'm like Jen - I got chills just reading your account of the event! I have a DD who's also 12, and I can't begin to imagine how frightened your daughter was. But, she was very brave, and very mature when she called the FDept and you to report the lightning. I know you are proud of her - and she should be proud of herself!

I am so glad there was not a fire! I am sure you are all still shaken from the event!

Well my long reply just got eaten by the server down message so I'll try again. Thank you to everyone for you kind thoughts and words. I really appreciate it and am greatful for my DIS friends. :grouphug:

I am so unbelieveably proud of my dd. I really can't believe that she was the one who took had to act in such a grown up and responsible manner - especially since, for whatever reason, my mom couldn't. I just am so glad that some of what I've taught her has "stuck" and that she was able to keep her wits about her at a time when I know she really was scared.

The extent of the damage is unknown at this time. We know that there is at least a portion of the house that has damage to the wiring - hopefully its just the connections and not the whole line. We have someone coming tomorrow to test the whole house and give us a report on the extent of the damage in the walls. The last thing we want is a fire to start in a wall because a line has been frayed and can't handle the current.

I can't thank you all enough and boy are we really going to need a break by the time this cruise gets here! Thank you all again.

Lisa

Oh Lisa...I just got on and was trying to catch up! While I am glad all is okay, you must have been so frightened. Thanks for coming to all of us. That is what this little non-secret society is...a leaning post for up and down days. For our Disney obsessions and Disney dreams. Congratulations on raising such a responsible and poised young lady. While she held her composure she still was able to go to you right away. You will continue to have our prayers and pixie dust. Keep thinking Disney is just a bit away!

Hi all,

I hope you are all ok. 3 weeks today I'll be flying to WDW :thumbsup2

More importantly, I've only got 1 more week of the disney amnesty !!YIPEE!

It has been hard, Ive so much to tell Dave next week. He does not know about the flying dutchman, or that I've got an ADR for the new turf club @ SSR the day we arrive, so we dont have to travel to DTD for food and lots more !!!

We are doing the DDP for the 2 days before we go on the cruise, and have TS Adrs for Turf club & Ohana. We have not got it for the 5 days after the crusie, as we didn't think we'd want to eat after !!!

Todays count down was for me !

Im really excited today as we are going away to Sheffield to see 'The Red Hot Chili Peppers'
I have loved that band for over 10 years and I must admit I do have a slight crush on Anthony still The lead singer

We are staying over which means I might not be back until noon time Flo could you stand in for me? Another worrying thing is I ve to take my computer to Daves brother who is going to reinstall things a im having big problems with it. It is going really slow and it keeps saying I've got low virtual memory. I only hope I can have it back for the weekend.

If im not on the boards thats the reason why, ( Kinda hoping I can use Davs machine ;)

Oh well take care
Have fun

Wow only one more week of amnsty. That is a job well done for you :thumbsup2 When you start to tell Dave every thing you have to tell him form the last couple of weeks his head is going to start to spin. :teeth: He missed alot.
Have fun at 'The Red Hot Chili Peppers'. Enjoy! :)

Hope your computer gets fixed. I know it would kill me if I could not use mine. :sunny:

Have a grat day everyone!
Flo
