Any one on 7-29-06 / 7 Night Western!!!! Is Back

Helen -- glad you liked the flowers! And I'm happy to see that you are getting better. Don't be tempted to do too much, as you'll have a set-back.

Flo -- that is great news about Steven's internship, although I'm sorry you will probably have to cancel the trip. When we hire our interns for the summer, I always ask if they have a trip planned, and go ahead and mark them off the calendar during that time. It is important to make a good impression, but we also like for our interns to still have quality family time.

Woo Hoo! A win for the team! SPECTACULAR! I hope many more follow! The select tournament team Andrew plays on got it's first win (they only had tied one team, and lost all the other games) last weekend. It was a great feeling! I've told Andrew not to get down -- they've only been playing together for a month, but most of the select tourament teams have been playing together for YEARS!

The rec league starts this week, and Andrew was drafted to a new team -- one that is going to do terribly! They've only practiced three times, and one of those was at a batting cage. We've just had so much rain lately (a true Blessing, as we've been in a severe drought) that it's been on days when they had the field reserved.

I'm just praying that they don't get laughed at!

Have a great week everyone! :)

Marci, I know what you mean about not getting laughed at. I felt the same way. You can not help but feel sorry for the kids. Here is somepixiedust: for Andrew's team.

take care everyone.

flo

Flo -- it was as bad as I feared last night! Both boys had their first rec games, naturally at the same time. I watched Jake's team, and they did okay for a team that just started playing together. Most of the kids are pretty young. Jake hit a line drive to right field for a home run! Yeah Jake. Andrew's team, however, was a disaster. They lost 14 - 0 to the worst team from a neighboring town, and were run ruled. He did pitch one inning, with three up, three down (defense actually helped out!) so that was good. Randy said it looked like Keystone cops most of the game -- a comedy of errors. That isn't going to help his confidence at all. I'm just hoping that he gets in lots of practice with the select team he is on so he can keep his skill level up.

Helen -- I hope you are continuing to make progress on your recovery.

How is everyone else doing?

Hi guys Happy Easter,

Doing good here.

Dave and I are going away tomorrow for a long weekend in the motorhome. Its a dog competition and my friends have said they will help run the dogs if I can't manage it.

Friday is Floss' first competiton so Im really looking forward to seeing how she does.

Marci - is that baseball your boys were playing? Hope they fair better in thier next game.

Good luck and take care
xx

Marci - Tell Jake way to go:cheer2:. That is great. I bet you were beaming from ear to ear. Sounds like his team is off to a good start. I know that 14-0 score real good. We have had some of those this year and they are not easy to take. As a parent you feel so bad, but there is noting we can do. That part drives me Crazy. Hope things get better for Andrew's team. That has to be hard when both are playing at the sametime. But thank goodness for cell phones you can call the other game and see what is going on. Also, at least both you and randy go to the games. I feel sorry for the kids that no one ever shows up.

Helen - Good luck this weekend and have a great time. Don't do to much so that you do not hurt yourself. Have a afe trip.

OK, Were is everyone else??

take care Everyone

Helen -- I was talking about baseball, although they are still playing soccer as well. I hope you are having a fun trip and that you don't over-do it. Good luck to Floss and your other competitors!

Flo -- Our next disaster...I mean game, is tomorrow night. I'll let you know how that goes.

I hope everyone has a great weekend, and to all of those who are celebrating Easter -- have a meaningful and safe Holiday!

:dance3: I am so excited.:yay: I just booked the 6-1-08 out of LA. I know I said I did not want to do one out of CA. But I can not wait any longer. They are getting booked fast. I could not even get the one I wanted. Just wanted to share. I booked with DVC. They don't have the points but I am glad I called. I may not have gotten my 3rd pick:boat:

Hi Guys! Happy Easter!!
Flo - yeah for CA - maybe we can see you when you come. You have to plan a day at Disneyland. You could even stay with us if you want to save $$$!

Marci - Yeah for Jake! I am with you and Flo at the baseball games. You know the boys are on the same team. Both pitching. Both not hitting so great. We have been taking Nicholas to a hitting coach to help him get over his fear of the ball. It seems to be helping. He is so strong that hopefully it won't be long till he knocks one over the fence!

Helen - Glad you are feeling better. Good luck at the dog competition.

I have two papers to write for school this week. Luckily we are on spring break for a week! Yeah!!

Valerie, I think we are going to come up the day before. I want to make sure I am there. Don't want to miss the :boat:! When it gets closer we will take. Thanks so much for the offer. I think we will go to Californa Adventure, I love that park.

Good luck with your papers.;)

Hi all, I hope you had a great Easter.

Flo -thats so good - im really pleased your booked, if a little jealous:rolleyes1

I had a brilliant time this weekend but very exhausting, Floss was fantastic bless her. She ran her little heart out and really enjoyed it. It was also great to hear members of the public pick her out and notice her for her speed. Ben also ran well and I was very grateful to my friends who helped run them.

I've had to go back to the doctors today as things have not yet settled after the op. I've been given a different set of tablets - hopefully that will sort me out.

Take care

Hello everyone! I have been watching the news. Hope everyone on the East coast is ok with the weather.

flo
:confused3

Helen -- I hope you are feeling better. Check back in with us when you can.

Hi Flo! Any change on the baseball front? Andrew's select team was in a tournament this weekend -- we froze on Saturday with wind chills in the 30s and yesterday we had to put on sunscreen. :confused3 Texas weather!

Here's some :wizard: for those who are sick or getting bad weather!

Marci

Marci, I know what you mean about the weather. It is the same here. One day we have snow and the next it is in the 60's. So many baseball games are getting cancelled. We now have won 3 games. We only have 3 more weeks of baseball then it is all over. Good luck to the boys and there sports.

Yes, Helen let us know how you are doing.

As Marci said :wizard: to evyone that has that bad weather.

Hi Dis Cruise friends -

Its been a long time since I stopped by the board to Chat with everyone. I hope you are all well and your families are ok. Its been a crazy time for me - I lost my job (laid off due to lack of budget passing to fund the position) and it kind of threw me for a huge spiral downward - I've never, ever, not had the choice in leaving a position - when its done to you you feel like the rug is jerked out from under you. We are ok - just cutting way back in the extras (like Disney :) ) I'm actually trying to find a totally different line of work and follow an old dream of travel writing - I'm working on writing about traveling with children - including Disney. If I ever get published - I'll share the news :rotfl2:

My dog Sadie also tore her ACLS and has been hobbiling around in a hot pink cat slipping and sliding in all the weather we've had. The poor thing hates the cast and licks it like crazy. I know I look pretty funny in my bathrobe holding her hind quarters up with a towel and this hot pink leg and commanding her to go "potty" at 6:00 am

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter/Spring Celebration and hope that life is ok for all of you

Take Care - Lisa

Lisa,
Oh My! I know what you mean about not having control over losing a job. It is not a good feeling. That happened to me after being with the company 21 years. This was just before the cruise were I meat all you wounderful people. I wish you :wizard: and luck in your new career. I know I went in a different direction.
Hope Sadie gets better! Poor thing!:sad2:

Ladies!
Hope all is well! Marci how are the teams doing? We took 2 out of the four this weekend. This is good.
Let me tell you about my day. First we spent the night at a hotel instead of going back and forth. We get to the field for batting practice; I am sitting in my chair talking to some of the other people. All of a suddenly bam I get it with the ball. BY the time they decided to tell us it was coming over the fence it was to late. Boy did I have tears in my eyes. I could note even answer them if I was ok. I got hit just below my shoulder (thank god) on my arm. The trainer looked at it and made me keep ice on it for the first game. She told me it is going hut and have a big black and blue mark. She said she felt the muscle spasms in it. ON a good note Steven had a good game.
Hope everyone had a good weekend.
Helen- how are you doing?

Lisa -- I'm so sorry to hear about your job! Maybe a new profession will be a somewhat silver lining? I'm sending PD and prayers that it works out.

Poor Sadie! (and you!) We had another incident with Jessie cat, and I'm just praying now that she stays healthy for a while. Sending prayers for a full recovery for Sadie!

Flo

Flo -- I'm glad the team did so well this weekend! How are you feeling? It sounds like you put up a brave front and that you were lucky it wasn't worse!

We only had soccer games this last week -- baseball was on hiatus for the TAKS test. It revs back up this week. Andrew has soccer practice tonight and Jake has baseball practice. Tomorrow night, Jake has a soccer game and Andrew has a baseball game. Wednesday night is Awanas, so hopefully we won't have any practices.... Thursday is soccer practice for Andrew and a baseball game for Jake, both boys have baseball games on Friday, then Saturday Jake has a soccer game at 9, while Andrew is in a baseball tournament in Farmersville -- about 60 miles away. I'll stay with Jake for soccer and meet the guys at the tournament. Then on Sunday, Randy and Jake will drive to Walburg (close to Austin) for the Baptism of his great niece while I take Andrew to Farmersville for his tournament.

Did I mention that Jake has his drama play this Thursday/Friday a.m.? :rotfl: Soccer is going well, Jake is doing pretty well in baseball, Andrew could use some PD for his tournament this weekend. The last select tournament they got second place, and he played okay. He had the first homerun hit off of him -- it was an older team we were playing in pool play. He finally got a decent hit out of the infield, but he needs a couple more before his confidence will be where it needs to be.
