Evening all

Marci, I just wanted to say that im thinking of you and as the others have said, make sure you take time for yourself over the next couple of days.

Jen, hope things are returning to normal for you after the quake. That is the one good thing about being here in the UK we dont get them. I can only imagine how frightening they are.

Tif- any more golf this weekend. Glad you had a good time in FL- im not jealous honest. I meant to say thank you again for the bracelet. I wear it mose days and I have had so many poeple comment on it. Thanks

Valerie , Carla, Lisa, Flo and others - Hope you are all ok.

Weather here is really mild 16 degrees but its wet. Ive got kind of a big weekend. Ben has another competition and I am actually going to try and run him. I am so looking forward to it, but I am really nervous its been nearly 17 months since I last worked him in a competition. Fingers X that my back holds out.

Have you read the trip report about the family who won the Keys to the kingdom @wdw? I sat for 45 mins this afternoon with a box of tissues it was a really great report. Well worth a look and a weep.

Dave dosn't know it yet but Ive got a plan. I love AKL and when I saw that they were going to add some DVC Villas there... well. :stir: When Im on the med cruise I might just ask about a very small add on shhhh mums the word

Well take care all and have a great weekend

Helen-- Good luck this weekend! PD sent your way.

Thanks for the encouragement. It means a lot.

Helen you have lots of pixie dust heading your way!!! Here is a thought for the cold weather...if the competitions are outdoors, that is. Have you tried one of those Therma Heat back pads...shoulders, etc.? It might keep your back muscles relaxed so that they don't tighten up and create havoc with your spine and everything else. My Suburban has the heated seats and boy do I use them. If I could turn off the bum part, and just leave the back...maybe add it up to the shoulders, sigh...ahhh...heavenly!

Okay ladies...another round of prayers please. Last year Iain was on a basketball team coached by a dad of one of his friends from school. Bubba was definitely the kind of person you say prayers of thanksgiving that the Lord put into your child's life! He always had a ready smile and an enthusiasm for life. In February he had some health problems that sent him to the ER. No one could figure out what was wrong. By the end of the school year, cancer, and they were fighting aggressively. In June they thought the chemo was working and he would be able to go to Disney with the family in August. They weren't able to make it down. Last week we were told that things were not good. As of Friday morning at 1am, Bubba Bell passed away. His wife, Terri and sons Nathan-8th grade, and Nick-6th grade are left here. This is the 6th parent and or teacher that has passed in our kids grades in the last couple of years. There are several others who have been fortunate enough to survive some scary illnesses. But all are rattled and scared. Well...if you could pray for the Bell family and the rest of the children at St. Vincent de Paul, we would truly appreciate it. I cannot express how wonderful Bubba was.

Tif,
My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends. pixiedust:

Lots of PD sent to the Bell family and all of the kids and families at the school. So much sorrow lately.....

We got news today that Mom very likely won't leave the hospital. We are devastated. They are going to have to put in a trach and also a feeding tube in to her stomach. I'm still praying for a miracle, but am trying to be realistic at the same time.

I know some of you have lost parents. I'll need to draw on your advice when that time comes.

Thanks for listening and being there for me.

Marci...so sorry to hear the news :grouphug: :grouphug:

Sending much prayers and aloha your way.

Tif...also thinking about you and your family & friends.

Aloha,
Jen

Marci, I am so sorry to hear that. It is not an easy thing to hear. I know how that feels. I went throught the with my Dad. I will keep praying and sending pixiedust:. Also, hopeing for a maricle.

Marci - I think and pray for your family daily. I have been through this with my grandma. I was her only relative left and had to deal with it all when I was 25. It's never easy. I hope you have a good support system with you (besides us) :grouphug:

Tif - Please know that I am thinking of the Bell family. I'm glad you have us to talk to.

Jen - So glad you are all okay. We've been through our share of earthquakes. They are pretty scary.

Helen - Good luck at the show!

Flo - How was your son's baseball game?

Hi Lisa and Carla!

Valerie

Marci...so sorry to hear your news. It had to be hard to hear, and harder to come to terms with. You always present such a joy filled to us all and I am sure to your family. That will be vital. Remember, God promises us joy and peace...he will provide that when you lean on him.

To everyone...thank you for your prayers and pd! Think about you all often, and always in prayer!

Blessings!

Hi all,

Marci I am so sorry about you your news - Please take comfort from the fact that we are all praying for you and that I am sure your mum is in the best possible hands. Please remember if you need us we are there for you.

Tif also Im so sorry for the loss of your friend, it seems so cruel when people are taken from their love ones. I am thinking of you too.

:grouphug:

Oh Tif and Marci - I am so sorry for the pain and sense of loss you are both experiencing. I know what its like to lose both the father of one of my dd's best friends as well as the loss of my own father. Just remember we are all here for you and sending thoughts of peace and healing your way.

Thanks again to everyone! The funeral today was very difficult. They let the 6th and 8th grades out. They also let Alec out as he attended all of last year's practices, even though he was two years younger than everyone else. Bubba said that he would have had Alec actually play if they hadn't had some goofy rules. He definitely lifted everyone around him. It was so hard to see the kids...so many young men with tears racing down their cheeks.
My afternoon sent me to my parents. Just kind of needed the reassurance of hugs. Mom is making plans to head to Florida again this spring...February! That is huge. For the longest time with her illness they wouldn't make ANY plans. Now that she is, I look at it as a goal and she just loves to have something to work toward.
Showed them pics of Homecoming...which are still not downloaded!...she cried. Abby is so completely unpretentious...pony tail and very little make-up...mascara and liner is about it...that when you see her "finishe" it almost takes your breath away. That sounds so prideful...but if you saw her, you would understand!

Well, tomorrow Iain is running for class representative. We worked on his speech tonight, and I made bunches of posters. Both of these are the environments that I love! Hopefully he will do well. He would really like to do it. Like mother...like son!--I was in student government through high school and then worked in the political arena for a few years through and after college!
night!
Marci, you still have our prayers. Helen...how was the weekend??? Jen, things back to normal? Okay...everyone else...update us!!!! Thanks again all! You are special friends!

:goodvibes HI Tif, :goodvibes

I forgot to say ...

It was brilliant, I managed to run Ben and to top it of we got :cheer2: 1st :cheer2:
It was very emotional for me -I couldn't believe it has been 16 months since I ran him properly in a competition.
However Sunday and Monday I am still paying the price as every muscle in my body aches. Still whats it they say - No pain no gain

party: party: :dogdance: CONGRATS!!! Way to go Helen and Ben!!!

Sorry that you are feeling sore from the weekend, but it has to be a good sore! Just make sure to do whatever your docs tell you to do so that in the interim you stay healthy!

Best of days!

Helen -- that is fabulous news! Do you have any pictures to share?

Tif -- you know I'm going to bug you about pictures of Abby. Please post when you get time to download them. I'm so glad to hear your mother is making plans. I keep throwing all kinds of things at my mom -- clothes shopping because we have both lost weight, joining us at Disney next summer, need her help with Christmas decorating ideas etc. to just pass the time and get her mind off all of her pain.

Thanks Marci! Tom promised that after Bball practice tonight he will download them for me! Once they are there, I will definitely post them!

We have actually incorporated lots of family to pitch in on goals for Mom. There have been two weddings, first communions, confirmations, and graduations! I keep telling others that we need to get a couple more big things on the calendar!! She was so excited when she thought we might be pregnant. They thought I was nuts when we told them we were pregnant witht the third. Then we lost the fourth and all were quite despondant. Well, she always looks at this one picture and says there is a hole...that they are waiting for one more baby. I just don't think this body could do another...okay the body might be able...it is the mind that rebels!!!!

Congrats on losing the weight. I know you said you had a little more to go for Lifetime. Great job! :cheer2: Just remember to take care of yourself and eat healthy! Don't lose too much...you looked wonderful in July! :thumbsup2

Best of days!
