Im going to WDW in January for two weeks staying at the All Stars Mo. I am going back in October 04 just me and my two DS's aged 5 and 8. I want to stay in a suite maybe Cypress Pointe Grande Villas, Amerisuites LBV,Hawthorne Suites LBV or HIFS.

My question is this.... I want to look round and check out the rooms etc in January so I know what to choose. Has anyone done this? Will the hotel be happy to show me?

Its just that some of us English are a little reserved !! :(

Last trip in Nov. we went to the Residence Inn LBV. The desk clerk was happy to give us a key to a vacant suite and let us wander around to see the property.

I think most hotels would be the same way. All we had to do there was leave ID (driver license) at the desk which we got back when we returned the key.

I've never been turned down when asking to see a hotel room. Just tell them you are considering a stay on your next visit to the area. They're generally very accommodating. Travel agents and frequent travelers do this, when they are in an area. So your request would not be unusual for the front desk.

Some timeshare properties want to have a salesperson accompany you or they won't let you visit the rooms. They want to be handy in case you love it (potential sale, in their eyes). But usually, they have a model unit open for sales tour guests, so it's not a problem if you visit between 7:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. I'm usually able to get in and out pretty quickly, even with a salesperson. Some resorts will lock their model units after 2:00 p.m., if there are no tours scheduled for the afternoon. Others leave them open until 5:00 p.m. or later.

Go. Look. Enjoy the planning! :) :) :)

I usually ask to see a room at a hotel which I'm considering using but have never stayed at, and have never been told I couldn't.

Even the cheaper hotels/motels will usually let you scope a room, it's pretty much expected nowadays.

If they wont let me check a room, I wouldn't give them my business anyway, so I see it as their loss, not mine. It's my green, I want to know what I'm getting for it !

I'm what you might call a militant consumer... ;)

Thanks for the tips I'll definately have a look around!
