*Very happy to report the HOJO called me this morning and confirmed my cancellation. They said no problem, just go through in-house next time.
So major thumbs up to HOJO and their always awesome customer service!
I don't know if they will put our room back on the retro rate list but our cancelled room was for Oct. 17, 18, & 19. ALL were Retro Rate!

I booked our dates several months ago and now somethings come up and we need to cancel. I specifically ASKED when I made the reservation if we could cancel if needed (my DH is military, nothing is ever concrete for us) and she said sure, no problem. I know the website says no cancellations and asked again and she said that's just "to warn people".
Today I called and she said she could not cancel our reservation. They directed me to Customer Care which I'm assuming was at the corporate level b/c they didn't know what hotel I was even speaking about and "opened a case on my behalf" to have it cancelled. How frustrating!
Anyone have luck cancelling without penalty.
