I wanted to send a few things to my DD away at college and I thought ALICE.com would be great, but now it doesn't work (out of business maybe). Anyway I want to send snacks and laundry supplies and cleaning supplies (she has a suite with a bathroom). Any alternatives other than amazon?

I frequently use Amazon to send things to DD at college. She goes to a military academy so cannot leave campus to go to a store.
Just yesterday I used drugstore.com. I have free 2-day shipping via ShopRunner (free offers come out around the first of the year--watch for them) or it's free if you spend a certain amount.
Sometimes the items are cheaper than in-store purchases, so it's a good deal and very fast!

Have her sign up for Amazon prime-as a college student it should be free for a year.

Free 2 day shipping and tons of free movies.

Just buy the stuff, box it up, and go to a UPS or office supply store and have it shipped. You will get exactly what you want to send her (brands and everything) and it will be cheaper.

Thanks, everyone, and I did mail her one box, but shipping alone was $20 from UPS for a not so very large box.
I will look into my options from some of these leads.

If you aren't sending much, get a priority box from the post office. If you get one of the flat rate ones you get the box for free and pay one price to fill it. I sent lots and lots of them when DS was in the army.

I don't know if Amazon doesn't carry the items you want or what, but I have had Prime for years and love it. It saves me a ton if I know what the going price is on a item. If you know how to work the coupons and subscribe and save options (Slickdeals.net is great for turning up new bargains) you can really make out. I also have Amazon Mom, so any month I have 5 or more subscribe and saves shipping, I save 20% off each, not just the regular 5%. An example, this coming month I have 2 50ounce jugs of Tide HE for $8.08 total, Suave Rosemary Mint Shampoo 28 ounce for $1.80, 20 rolls of Scott 1000 for $8.88 and so on. And you can cancel subscribe and save at any time, even after the first shipment if you want, but if its a great deal, I keep getting it until the price changes. Get all my coffee from the too.
