Any one else/children have a Cochlear Implant and go to Disney?

Our DS is 7 and has had a Cochlear Implant for 5 1/2 yrs now and does very well. I was just wondering if anyone else has a Cochlear Implant or have family with one? It is always nice to meet and chat with someone who does Disney just like you.

My DD is 10, implanted for 6 1/2 yrs, she is also doing well, but there is no doubt still will face difficulties on this trip. Our main concerns are so much background noise and water. I'm very curious if she will be able to hear at shows and on rides. We are going last week in July for my ds b-day.

Does your son have one CI or two?

Our son (Michael Kade) has just one CI. We contemplated the other one for a while now but he just doesnt seem to want it (which is OK by us) He is doing so well with 1 that we arent going to push the issue for 2.

Have you guys ever been to Disney before? We go ALL the time. If you have ANY questions at all I am sure I could answer them for you or help you out. We are from MD, how about you guys?

Michael Kade was implanted @ 23 months. He has the Hi Rise 90 K Implant by Advanced Bionics (he is actually on alot of there brochures and what not) we had a photoshoot with them last June out in CA (it was SO fun)
