Whenever we travel to Disneyland we always think of a different theme to wear for each day we are in the park. Like this trip we are doing a Star Wars theme one day, a Pirate theme the next and a hometown representation theme the last day. Does anyone else do this with their families when they go?

One day we did a Black/White Nightmare theme. It wasn't super on purpose but it made for a really cute photo op. :)

Sometimes we do. In WDW we did a Perry the Platapus day for DHS. It's mostly the kids that match, but DH and DS did have a few matching shirts. We did do a princess theme for Ariel's Grotto one year. The girls had Princess shirts, as did I. DH had a Prince charming shirt and DS had a 3 Muskateer Mickey shirt that say "Princess Protection" on it (he was 9 months old at the time).

One year we had a group of 15 of us going and I bought all the kids yellow t-shirts and then my aunt used one of those embroidery machines to put a picture and the words California 2007 on each one. It was great, because when one kid got lost...we showed the security people all the kids in their shirts and they knew exactly what to look for!

I love to see people in themes at the parks...but now my kids are too old to go for something like that.:confused3

Yep :) Even hubby and I are going to have matching shirts for our anniversary this year. Last year we all had Tye-dyed Mickey shirts. Next year we will again make the Mickey shirts and have another set of matching shirts.

Here is ours, at the airport at 4 in the morning.

We do not.

My husband and son would love to do such a thing, therefore I will not be showing them this post! Well, unless they would like to take charge of the project; but that isn't likely, LOL.

I did compromise twice. Made them shirts with Jack Skellington iron-ons, and then put a small one on a small black canvas "purse" I got at Michael's, so there was a theme but I wasn't wearing a matchy shirt. And for our first trip to WDW I got *buttons* with the stuff that others would put on shirts.

But...I'm not going to wear buttons later, and wearing the shirt later (if it's been personalized and dated) doesn't work for me, so it just seemed like a waste of my own family's money. And I've resisted doing it again.

But hubby and son are right there with you guys!:goodvibes

Lol Im 23 and I still get into getting theme shirts, you may just have to try and find something they are really into. Idk I may be different, every year for my birthday I pick a theme and almost everyone participates. I mainly do it to embarrass my Mom. (birthday is a few days from Halloween so we dont look crazy) Last year we did an 80s theme lol.. But I think when everyone participates it mkaes the trip feel that much more special. We are going to wear disney shirts to the Airport this trip, that might make me feel like a nerd a little though..

Here are a few of our days.

Hmm... never crossed my mind to do that. :confused3 My boys are 18 now but even when they were little, they wouldn't have wanted to. They are twins and got tired of people mixing them up (they look different to me) so they didn't even want to get the same pair of shoes even if they both liked them. So there is no way they would have worn the same shirt to DLR.

This summer it will just be DH and I. I don't really wear t-shirts that often and I certainly can't sew anything cute or uh, anything at all. So, no, guess we won't be doing that this summer either. I would if we found something we could agree on- and it didn't involve sewing. ;)

Love all those cute pictures! :thumbsup2

They dont have to match, we just choose a theme to wear. Ill wear a Darth Vader shirt and my brother in law may wear a Boba Fett shirt. Its all in a matching theme. Maybe you and your husband can think of a theme that means something to both of you..

Have to think about that.... :) It just never crossed my mind before.

I am planning "theme" shirts for our upcoming trip...I've ordered most of the shirts from ebay. One day we are doing Star Wars, another is Toy Story, another is Classic Mickey, another is just shirts with "Disney" on them that I have found online. Can't wait!

Awesome, sounds just like what we like to do. I see your from Phoenix, I'm from Tucson myself. When are you guys going and are you flying or making the drive out?

Oh, 8timesblessed, did you make all those awesome outfits yourself? They are amazing!!! It makes me want to get an embroidery machine for all the cute appliques!

When we went to DL in October, I made my DD a special outfit for each day, but there was no way my DH would have agreed to match. So, no theme outfits as a family for us. :-(

We are having themed days and I'm making all of DD's outfits and some of the boys. It's the most fun I've had sewing in a while! We're having the following themed days:

Toy Story (eating at Big thunder Ranch BBQ)
Mickey (Minnie and Friends and Toontown)
Cars (Carsland)
Peter Pan (Pixie Hollow)
Alice (Goofy's Kitchen)
Ariel (DD's 2nd birthday lunch at Ariel's)

I can't wait to see the pictures! :cheer2:

What are you doing for her Toy Story outfit? On my Pinterest I have a few Toy Story dresses pinned. They are a bit advanced for me, but so cute! Maybe you could post pics of the outfits when you are done. I am just starting to sew and for our last trip my Mom and I made a little Alice dress and a tunic with red and white polka dots and a yellow yoke with two black buttons and an appliqued mickey on the bottom. I was so proud and they were so cute!
