To Whom it May Concern,
While I understand and respect
Disney Cruise Line's policy of allowing smoking in the cruise ship nightclubs after 9 PM, I felt that I had to tell you how disappointed I am with this policy. I suffer from severe allergies to cigarette smoke and cannot enter any of the following venues because of the lingering 'stench' left from the night before:
WaveBands
The Cadillac Lounge
Barrel of Laughs
I would love to be able to sit down to a nice game of bingo in WaveBands. Unfortunately I can't even walk in the door without coughing and wheezing. The same goes for Barrels of Laughs.... a nice comedy club visit would be wonderful, but it's totally out of the question; I walk into the door and begin to cough.
Since these venues also have many daytime family activities scheduled, I'm assuming that Disney believes that it is fine to subject children and non-smoking adults to second-hand smoke. Again, as an allergy sufferer, I have to disagree.
Would the
Disney Cruise Line possibly consider a compromise that would satisfy both the smokers and non-smokers on the ships? Would it be possible to make ONE of the three clubs into a Non-Smoking venue and rotate the shows through all three clubs. This would afford non-smokers, whether by choice or due to health issues, a chance to enjoy ALL of the adult shows over the course of a 3 or 4 day cruise. While I know the logistics of this suggestion might pose some difficulties, I think this addresses the concerns of both camps, smokers rights and non-smokers rights.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my grievances and I hope you will take my suggestions into consideration.
