Any non-cake Birthday suggestions?

We are taking my 7 year-old to WDW for his birthday in September. It will be a complete surprise to him as we are picking him up from school and heading straight to the airport. We will be at Magic Kingdom on his official birthday. We do not have any table service meals planned that day, so I am trying to come up with some other way to celebrate his birthday while in the park. My first thought was some kind of suprise for him at Main Street Confectionary, but I could not find any information about getting ahold of the store. I can't remember if Main Street Confectionary sells cupcakes. I'm just looking for a unique way to celebrate his special day early on. If anyone has done something special that was not at a table service restaurant, I would appreciate the input. Oh, and he does NOT like rice krispies treats, which pains me greatly, so buying one of those is not an option.

Thanks for your help!

Here's a few ideas:

- At Main Street Confectionary - get the giant Mickey Head rice crispy.
- At the Ice Cream Shop - get a HUGE sundae that all of you can share.

If you want to get away from the park:

- Go to Beaches and Cream at YC and get the Kitchen Sink.
- Go to Goofy's Candy Co. at DTD and treat yourselves.

I believe you can order a cake and have it delivered to your room. It may depend on which resort but i am not even sure on that. We did that for my son's 17th birthday. A cake was delivered to our room and was like $25 or so.

Be sure to stop by City Hall and get his birthday button. Go down to the ice cream shop at the end of Main Street and let him pick out whatever kind and size of ice cream he wants. No limits even if he doesn't finish it. Not much could be better than that.:cool1:

The chocolate cake at the bakery on Main Street is THE BEST cake I have ever had. Get a slice and bring your own candle :)
The birthday butto, as someone else sugested, is also a great idea. We have taken my son for his birthday twice, and all of the cast members will wish him a Happy Birthday if he has the button on.

There was a Magical Cupcakes thread a few months back. OP of that thread was searching for cupcakes in the Magic Kingdom. Here's where they were found:

"Well, it was Toontown and in the little area that serves food/drinks, tucked away behind whatever is the ever, most wished for item this thread has been salivating for............MY BELOVED MAGICAL CUPCAKES!!!!!! I can't believe it! There they are! Not so big as am told, but full of the wonderful layers of icing.....Blue, Pink and purple! YIPPEE!!!!"

We were celebrating my son being totally potty trained last visit, and he picked out a huge cupcake at the Main Street Bakery. The lady put some sprinkles on it for him when she heard why he was getting the cupcake. The cupcake looked delicious, and my son didn't share. We also let him pick out a special snack that evening at Downtown Disney. He chose making his own pretzel rod treats at Goofy's Candy Company. He loved it! Ghirardeli's ice cream is also an option at DTD.

If you are looking for something aside from a delicious treat to celebrate, you can look into "Gifts of a lifetime". They will put something special together, like a scavenger hunt that ends with a small gift or something. They have a website and look amazing! Even if you don't go with them (it is a bit pricey), you could possibly come up with something exciting like that.
