Any New Yorkers out There?

I'm looking for recommendations for a nice (not stuffy) restaurant- pre theater anniversary dinner.

We're taking a trip to NYC to do some shows, shopping, relaxing for a whole week (believe it or not)- and although I've planned nine events and five dinners so far.... I'm stumped for our anniversary dinner.

Help!!

Trattoria Dell' Arte (&th Ave. and West 57th) and Rosa Mexicano (Columbus Ave. and 62nd St.)are two I really like. I also like Philip Marie (Hudson St. and West 11th St.) and for breakfast I like The Brooklyn Diner (West 57th between 7thAve and Broadway). Another place I like for brunch is Brasserie 8 1/2 (West 57th between 5th and 6th Aves.).

I love Carmines, its at 200 West 44 street (between 8th and 9th) Their menu is served family style so don't order too much but its great!

DH loves Italian food- I'm just not sure that he could eat a whole platter....

I was also going to suggest Carmine's. It's right in the theater district. It's not expensive. The food is really good. I've been there with 4 in our party a few times, with a bottle of wine and tip, our meal cost $100. How do you beat that in NYC?

If you want to walk a little farther, The Oyster Bar in Grand Central Station is very good. Plus, oysters are supposed to be an aphrodisiac, and since it's your anniversary... I don't like oysters and the other items on the menu are also very good.
