Has anyone noticed if Disney has came out with any new "ridiculous" seasons and views for 2012? I think they had a few seasons a while back, then in 2010 or this year there were like 40 different "seasons". I figure before long each and every day of the year will be priced different.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I would think though that they have already thought of all the possible views you could come up with.

POR will have the Royal Rooms too, and there's new Wellness suites at the Contemporary.

And each of the Royal rooms has 3 categories! I think there are 9 room categories at POR!

Royal Rooms have 4 categories. There are apparently two different types of garden views. One is more expensive than the other. That brings the total to 10 different categories!

Ya, this seems like a act of desperation for profit on the part of Disney.
Ridiculous.:sad2:

Actually, I think Disney differentiates the rooms now to be sure you get what you pay for. For instance, when there was not a MK view at the Contemporary, everyone requested that view, and how did the room assignment person decide who got it?

Port Orleans French Quarter also now has five "views" - Standard, Garden, Water, River, King.

Also, the extra charge for Fri & Sat nights has increased from $10 to $15 at the moderates for 2012.

I think that is a good point. I was really glad I did pay for a preferred room last month at CBR.:thumbsup2 I guess I can see, preferred and I even do like the preferred pool view at the Pop. Kinda surprised that they did'nt do that at all the values. But a garden view at the Port Orleans resorts, hugh?
And one is even more exspensive than the other. I think that is just being greedy. Its a wonder they don't try to charge different prices for each preferred building. The closer the building the more you pay.

I think additional room views show what specific requests make on a regular basis.
That's just my guess. But this way it is a win situation for those who really want a specific room type.
Those not as specific probably just book a standard view, which I would imagine is always the least expensive and more plentiful choice.
A standard view could be upgraded at check in. But at least those willing to book specific room types are more apt to get exactly what they book.
And then the cast at the check in desk do not get extra grief from guests wanting or demanding specific room requests. And all this probably helps eliminate unhappy guests and refunds.

At POFQ, if you pay for a King room, I guess you can end up with any of the views -- Garden, Standard, Water, or River. Doesn't seem quite right to me. But shut me up because if Disney reads this, the next thing you know there will be more categories -- King Garden, King Standard, etc. No! Things are just getting too complicated. When I went for the first time (2007) there were just four seasons, no breakouts for weekends, value season in the beginning of the year cost the same as later in the year. It was all very user-friendly and simple to figure out. Not so any more.

Yes, this is exactly what I am trying to say. Your right though, King Garden, King Standard, King Bird view, King sky view, King sunrise view, King sunset view, ok I will stop now.

I noticed that Pop now has three categories. Regular, preferred, and pool view.
You forgot preferred pool view.

I called yesterday to make a AAA room only reservation at Pop for Marathon Weekend. The CM offered me preferred pool view. I asked her if she had any standard rooms at AAA rate and she said "do you just not want to face the pool? I can get you close to the front in a preferred room." I asked again for a standard room and she finally offered me that.

Don't you see what they're up to? They're tring to make it all so complicated that we all just throw our hands up in the air, hand them our credit cards, and tell them to just do what they will! :rotfl2:

Well, I'm SORT OF kidding..........

Standard view rooms will have visibility to parking lots or roofs or walls. Garden view won't be able to see any of these. At least that was how the line was drawn at BC/YC when they added the separate view. It would make sense that the definition would be the same at all resorts.
