I am reluctantly switching banks from 5/3 to National City. My DBF is working as a collector there now and they set up an account and set up his Direct Deposit with that account. We decided to go ahead and switch. I hate it! With 5/3, anytime I use the debit card, the balance is updated immediately, which I love! National City takes a couple days to list any pending transactions. I assumed all banks updated in real time. I haven't called the customer service line yet to ask but in the FAQ, it states that all transactions are updated in real time. I'm hoping that once PNC takes over, it will be fixed the way I like it. LOL If not, we will be using cash more. It's hard to keep track of both of us using the card especially when pending transactions take days to be deducted. Anyone else use National City or PNC??

I thought National City was no more. All the National City in my area (Pittsburgh) switched to PNC or First Niagara.

They haven't switched here yet. The signs are ready to be switched, but they haven't done it yet.

They used to update in real time. I loved it! For the past few months, since PNC came into the picture, nothing is updated in real time. I hate it! I have always used National City and have enjoyed using thier services, but I really hope they get thier act back together.

I just found out that if you use the card as a debit, it's updated in real time...used as credit, takes a couple days. Ugghh whatever
