Any MUST eat at restaurants at Vero????

The trio at Squid Lips is called "Trilogy" and they were great last Friday night when we were there. We got there around 6pm and the place was packed with locals. We throughly enjoyed their first set last week. I would see them again.

I could tell that the locals really like that place and as it got closer to 5:30 the place was starting to get more crowded. Maybe next trip we will try it again and get there close to 6:00. :goodvibes

I am not a fan of Squid Lips. Actually we had a hard time finding any decent restaraunts that were not overpriced or way too casual. I suggest driving into Sebastian. If you find a place that looks half decent, go for it. It really is luck of the draw. This was one thing we didn't like about Vero. Dining was a challenge.

Oh, Ms. Hope, SQUID LIPS.... the name doesn't call me. However, I am ALL for TOO casual. Don't really like restaurant dining to start with, but casual is a must if I'm going to do it.

Luv ya Hope! Hope to bump into you all some day.

I have ate at all the above restaurants. There is truly nothing in the league of the Ocean Grill.
Expensive?.. Yes. Kid friendly?.. Not especially. One of the best restaurants for food & atmosphere in the entire country?... Yes.

Hope the weather cooperates and you have a great two days!

Go Yankees!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 My family are big Yankees Fans!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Love baseball! My DS, 15 is a great pitcher(Mom's bragging rights!)....Love to watch him on the mound!:banana::banana::banana::banana:
Had to miss summer ball because of a shoulder injury, but thankfully, he's well rested now! Can't wait for fall ball to begin!:thumbsup2

If you can, post about the weather and the beaches today! Much appreciate!

Savor the last moments!

Capt. Hirams is a must. And its not even that far of a drive from the resort-maybe a 20 min drive- but definitely worth it. Great atmosphere and great food.

Squid Lips is just up the road from Hirams and that place as a lot fun too. My daughter enjoyed feeding the catfish off the pier at Squid lips.

We love Squid Lips! Oh I wish we were there now! :goodvibes

We asked at the front desk for a nice place and they recommended The Ocean Grill. Good call! Very good place! Nice eclectic interiors...

Our son now 16 almost 17 quit baseball :scared1: July of 08 going into freshman year. He was turning 15 that Oct. He pitched some but played mostly 2nd base. We were shocked!!!!:eek::eek: He had finished summer league and after his last game he said "I'm done" :confused3 We thought he meant.... for the summer. NOPE he was DONE DONE. He had been playing since t-ball...... played on several travel teams, went to Cooperstown, played fall and spring ball since he was 7 and had been to many tournaments, private indoor pitching lessons, belonged to a batting club for 2 years..... you name it we did it. I was okay with it ...dh had a worse time not believing he would not be playing high school ball. :sad1: Instead he plays high school soccer and plays soccer year round. He had played soccer in middle school too along with baseball when it worked out. His true love is SOCCER. He will be a jr. this year and he plays indoor soccer all winter, is playing high school summer soccer and has tryouts mid Aug. So.....we were a HUGE BASEBALL FAMILY..... still love to watch games on tv but our son is ALL SOCCER NOW. We became the "The World Cup Family" this summer. :rotfl2: The boys love the Yankees though.

Today it looks nicer than yesterday so hopefully the weather will cooperate. My dd and younger son are going to the character breakfast and my dh and older son are hitting the beach. Yesterday it was a RED FLAG day. SO they want to boogie board today. :thumbsup2

I can't remember exactly, but we felt it was reasonable for the quality and quantity. We all had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day which was a bonus (DH usually does not have leftovers). I had one of the veal dishes (double YUMMMMM) with garlic mashed potatoes I think. It was EXCELLENT. Think the prices were $20ish per entree maybe. Not that bad at all.:goodvibes Very authentic & family run.

Seriously? I mean the location right on the beach is lovely, but the interior of the restaurant is seriously stuck in like 1963 - so outdated and heavy. Food was quite good but rather overpriced for my budget.

I'll take the casual and quirky atmosphere and yummy grub at Squid Lips, thank you. It has no pretensions of grandeur, just good food and drink overlooking the river at reasonable prices.

When we were down there in May we ate at both Waldo's, right on the beach and at Mulligan's, right on the beach. Both were very fun, casual and had good food. When we are down there in September we hope to take the girls and go back to Mulligan's. Mulligan's had a to die for chocolate dessert. Can't wait to get it again!

Sebastian Location is closest to Vero Beach?

Menu looks fun! $10.99 specials like fried shrimp, etc!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Looks like from 6:00-7:00, they have Happy Hour Specials! $2.99 Frozen Margaritas! Nice!:cool1::cool1:

Thanks.. Looks like this will be fun for dinner one night! Hopefully, mid August is COMING FAST!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

My dh got a Yuengling at Squid Lips for 1.25 during Happy Hour. :thumbsup2 Best beer price ANYWHERE.

Yes, I'm serious. Not sure how a rustic nautical theme can go out of style..??

I also enjoy Squid Lips (but don't care for Capt Hirams), but it is more of a medium level restaurant whereas Ocean Grill is a nice evening out.
