I love the Monkees... I have since I was a tiny little girl! I was lucky enough to have second row seats when the 30th anniversary tour "came to my town".....
College has always kept me from seeing him at the Flower & Gardrn Festival... but now that I am a college grad this is my first year to see him!!!! I am already counting down the days!
DougFunnie--I love how Monkees fans come in all ages! I am 41 and have loved them since the repeats were on Saturday mornings way back in the early 70s. When Davy and Micky were touring with Boyce and Hart back in '75, I got to meet them backstage with very few other people around. Davy actually asked me to a party!!! But my Dad told him I was only 14 (I looked A LOT older). I did get to kiss Davy. Gee, I remember it like it was yesterday.
I hope you have a fantastic time--give him a kiss for me!
We're sad to miss the Monkeys, but are stoked to see Arlo Guthrie for the second time! If you've never seen Arlo, he's a master story-teller, and is excellent for kids.
1) Ah, yes.
2) I saw Herman's Hermits in concert in Cleveland, Ohio.
3) They were the headliner band.
4) The warm-up band was a start-up band "The Who".
I love the Monkees! I watched their tv show faithfully all the time. I never get tired hearing their songs on the radio. My DH an DD make fun of me, but I don't care!!
Maybe I'll catch him next year...
We saw Eddie Money at one of the Flower Power concerts last year...he couldn't seem to remember the lyrics to some of his songs!
Judging from the moaning that my DW is doing, it's probably a good thing we will miss him by a few weeks! She has always had a "thing" for Davy- sometimes I think she married me because I'm short and my name is Dave!!
(Actually, Mike Nesmith has always been my favorite...)
I loved the monkees and had the biggest crush on Davy Jones when I was 8 yrs old. Im 35 now and would love to see him but I will miss him this year. I will be at WDW when paul revere and the raiders are playing. My mom was a big fan of them. I am looking forward to seeing them even though I think I only know 1 song they sing. cherokee poeple. Im sure I will recognize more of their songs when I hear them.

I saw Davy Jones, Mickey Dolenz and Peter Tork a couple of summers ago in a small theater in Northampton, MA. I felt like I was 12 years old again!!! It was so great to relive those days from long ago!
I wish I had the chance to see Davy again-he made me weak in the knees back then and is still so adorable today!
I've never had a thing for Davy, but I still love the Monkees. Even my DD10 and DD8 know who he is and can't wait to see him! They were very excited when I told them he was going to be there while we are. Now I can't get that song outta my head.
