Any Merry Mixer Info Yet?

Yeaaa!! I hope this is true because we're going to the very last MVMCP on the 18th, and DS (4yr old) needs all day to rest up for it.:thumbsup2 Thanks! I asked my DVC rep yesterday about the Merry Mixer and he had no clue about it. I wonder if maybe eveyone has gotten the info on it yet. However.... on a SUPER happy note... he REALLY led me to believe that the Poly and GF are very close to becoming DVC!:lovestruc:banana: Yes, I was nosey and pushed him to answer questions! :rotfl2:

Whether is his info about GF and Polynesian are correct if you value him, please never mention his name here, he could lose his job over discussing future expansion.

OK, Merry Mixer experts:

I've tried, but there is no way I can rearrange our plans to get to this year's merry mixer - our plane doesn't land until after 8pm. Other than e-bay, Is there anyway I can get this year's merry mixer ornament & purchase a matching DVC pin through the guides? I'm thinking if I purchased 500 BLT points my guide might magically be able to get her hands on a pair  That would be one expensive ornament! J/K at this time I can't do more than a 25 pt add on anyway...

My goal was to get one set for every year we're there in December since becoming members.

If not, I may have to make up another way. (Thinking Christmas shop) :santa:

As members, this will be our first trip in December. We have never been to the Merry Mixer. I was able to change our dinner reservations so that we are in Epcot on Thursday. What can we expect to occur at the event? There will be 6 adults. Three of us are members. Do we all get the ornament and pin? Or whatever other gift that is given this year.

we will be attending the merry mixer in december...however, my mom and aunt are not dvc owners and they will be vacationing with us, can they get in too??

The pins are for purchase, but only at the event which is why I'm questioning if there's a way we can still get one.

In past years they've given out one pewter DVC ornament (which matches the event pin) per family as you leave.
I loved ours from last year - a snowflake design.

We have always been able to take our guests in with us with no problems. Make sure you have your DVC card with you. They normally had an assortment of cookies, apple cider and coffee I believe (correct me if I'm mistaken).

We came in and kids (and some adults) were doing the macarana with Santa's reindeer, many people were lined up to get DVC pins and merchandise and we were all filling out cards for a gift basket drawing that was there to drool over. The drawing was held after we left and we were told that it would be delivered to your room. We saw it later being delivered to the VWL (but not to us,drat!).;) As we left they gave us our ornaments in small red velvet drawstring bags.

Sad that we can't make it this year, our first year as members. We fly in late Thursday evening, so we'll miss it.

Our first trip as members, so we don't know what the mixer is like. We have tickets for the MVMCP that evening, so we will likely only stay an hour - I assume it's worth it even if we are only staying an hour.

We're coming up on our first trip to WDW as members as well and plan to go to the one on the 3rd.

We have dinner reservations @ Biergarten @ 4:15 PM that day; do you think we could still get an ornament if we only stay for about 45 minutes???

Looking forward to checking this out as it will be our first Member event! (Unless we go to WHW on the 2nd...)

We went to it last year and it was crazy - and not crazy good. The longest lines our entire trip was for the purchase of a couple of the pins/member only items at the Merry Mixer (note that most of the pins they offered for sale there can typically also be bought at your DVC resort). We could only stay about 45 minutes and I waited in line to purchase those items for almost the entire 45 minutes. It was poorly run - at least the purchase side of the house.

Just a heads up for those that are going - if you plan to purchase something they are only offering at the Merry Mixer ensure you are one of the first in line to enter the place (the line starts to form before official opening) and then make sure you enter the purchase line right away.

Overall - it was only ok. Seemed a bit cheesy to me and I know that opinion is not shared by everyone.

If they decide to cut back, there may not be an ornament or little gift this year- I'm wondering if we'll get anything???. As was mentioned they are one per member family only- one year it was a keychain, and then we got the little ornaments. Last year the party was really packed the day we went and I agree that standing in line to purchase a pin ( which was my choice) for a longggg time really cut down on my enjoyment. I remember they rationed the refreshments last year too vs. being able to take what you wanted. I love this event though and even if they no longer gave out a little gift I'd still be attending if possible. We have a stay booked at AKLV concierge this year during the 10th-17th so will definitely be there. :-)---Kathy

Count me in for the 10th as well! We are doing the MVMCP event that night so we won't be able to stay too long. This will be our first mixer since we just joined in June.

I hope when they pass out the ornaments they only give it to those holding the member ID card. I recall stories of years past where people were taking one per person so that some families toward the end of the Merry Mixer Dates didn't get an ornament.

We will be going on the 17th then going on the pirate and pals fireworks cruise!!!!!!
