My cup is always half empty. I've seen lots of posts about delicious meals. Lets hear about the NOT so delicious. (just for fun guys, don't yell at me)

I'll start.

1. Lobster burgers (something I'll never forget)

2. Roasted chicken breast at AP
*although I cruised between 2 hurricanes and I think they only had brown meat on this cruise (with the skin)

sent it back and had a DELICIOUS veal chop

6 cruises and I have never had one morsel that I did not throughly enjoy. :goodvibes

-Tacos at Plutos - too mushy

-egg rolls at the chinese buffet at Parrot Key - too salty

-braised artichoke appetizer in Parrot Key - tasted like someone opened a can of artichoke hearts & put them in a bowl

-prime rib entree in Animators (this was on the list at the bottom of the menu that you can order if you don't like anything else) - DH ordered this 1x and said it tasted like it was from Denny's

Pizza - No matter where we get it on board, it's just nasty.

Tenderloin - Triton's - Tried it twice and wished I hadn't.

I strongly disagree about the lobster burgers. But, I guess if you don't like seafood, you might not like them.

Let me begin by saying DCL is some of the best food our family has ever had. It's one of the reasons we rebook on board each year, as we can't wait to get back and indulge.

However, (one must have known I was leading up to something, LOL!) I did NOT enjoy the lobster tails. :duck:

Thanks for trying DCL, but the lobster doesn't compare to the ones DH and I enjoyed in Maine many years ago.

I don't think anything can equal Maine lobster...

Actually, on our first cruise, I didn't like the lobster but on the second cruise, it was wonderful. I should have ordered a second!

My worst food... sit down lunch, potato salad...YUCK! :sad2: It came as a side for something else, maybe chicken. I took one bit and had to spit it out. Just nasty.

Maybe it's my Italian heritage, but other than the pasta in Palo, I'm not a fan of it on the cruises.

I just think that I'm too fussy. I always make my own sauces and find that what they serve on the cruise is just too bland for my taste.

The "sushi" on board. Bad. I understand why it is bad, but they shouldn't even bother. Most of the seafood buffet isn't very good, either, but I LOVE great seafood, and that is not it.

We have been on five Disney Cruises and enjoy almost everything we eat, but I do have one funny story.

We were on the 7 days Western this past October. We ate lunch in Lumiere's one day. My mom got some kind of fish. It came with a side of some kind of rice, wild, brown, something. She puts a spoonfull in her mouth and is quickly looking for some kinda of paper napkin to get rid of it. Well, they only have fabric napkins, so she had to swallow it. She told my aunt that "you have to try this rice, its so bad". My aunt said, "why would I want to try bad rice?" My mom said, "you have to, you won't believe how bad it is unless you try it." That being said, my aunt tried a spoonfull and just about spit it back out. Again, no paper napkins, just had to swallow it. We were all laughing so hard, everyone kept looking at us. The joke during the rest of the cruise was "Don't get the rice". Our waiters would just look at us, but we thought it was funny.

On the first cruise our lobster was ok. With so many being prepared I wasn't upset with a little toughness. It was still good. On the last cruise OMG! It was so juicy & tender I wanted another one. :) The best that I have ever had & my mother's family is from Maine & I have had several lobster rolls. :) :) :) Unfortunantly the lobster burger at CC was disappointing. Not enough seafood & too much breading. I will stick with the BBQ next time. YUMMY!

I'm a big seafood fan. The lobster burgers taste like ick.

The only time I ordered the sirloin steak off of the "standard" part of the menu I was disappointed. I love a good steak, and it certainly looked like a nice piece of meat, but it was incredibly dry, even though it was ordered (and cooked) medium well.

The steak was probably a one-time thing. But the lobster burgers were always disgusting.

I was not a fan of the lobster either. But I loved that our server got it out of the shell for us. The lobster in Palo was much better that night.

I got the escargot. I absolutely loved it! But it didn't much love me later!

Hi,
So why is the Pizza nasty? Is it a soggy crust, bad sauce, not enough cheese, too thick or thin of crust?b My husband and kids love pizza and I was hoping we could grab this for lunch by the pool. :sad2:

Also, the only meat I eat is Seafood and fish so I was dissappointed by the comment that all the Seafood isn't good either. What is the problem there? Is it it's freshness, quality or the way it is cooked that is the problem?

Thanks,

We had the steak sandwich for lunch in Lumiere's. YUCK!!!! Most food we had on the cruise was great, but not this sandwich. STAY AWAY!

Not so much the seafood served in the dining rooms....it is okay, not really good, but considering it is a mass prepared meal, it is okay. The salmon in AP is my favorite, as is whatever fish they serve in Palo (I've had salmon and bass there.) And I've had the lobster once, and it was good. But the seafood buffet is just not good at all. According to our last waiter in Palo, nearly all the seafood is frozen because they only restock in Port Canaveral...not in any of the ports. Frozen is rarely as good as fresh if you ask me!

To be honest, I have not been a huge fan of any of the food served on DCL. It has been average at best. I put in on the level of food served at a big, average wedding. But that being said, I usually find something I like that suits me fine. Palo is the exception....that is all pretty good.

I don't eat much meat when I'm not at home. I like my meat well-done and not burned to a crisp or even slightly rare. It's too hard to get it that way anywhere but when I cook it myself. That being said, I eat mainly seafood when I'm on my cruises, and I have never had a complaint about it. I don't think the lobster burgers are bad at all. Maybe it's not "fine dining", but it certainly is, at least in my opinion, good food!

I've never had anything on DCL that was so bad I wouldn't (or couldn't) eat it. We haven't eaten in Palo yet, but are planning to try it on one of our two cruises in November.

The only thing we found we didn't really like was the maple-glazed salmon. DW can eat salmon every day of the week and twice on Sunday, but the maple syrple on this dish was VERY strong, and there was a lot of it.

The french fries also have a very short shelf life. When they're hot, they're very good, but once they start to cool off, they go fast.

I don't like the so called bratwurst served at Plutos, talk about zero flavor.
