Any Magic Halloween Cruisers 2003 out there?

WOW. everyone has such exciting things going on.

Dena - congratulations on your pregnancy!

I finally had a chance to sit down and look at the excursions. Although I'm cruising with my parents and a friend of the family - I think I'm the only one doing these excursions.... any feedback would be great.

Cozumel - Mayan Frontier Horseback Riding Tour

Grand Cayman - Stingray City Snorkel Tour (probably the 7:30 am one) and then the Grand Cayman Island Tour (1:25)

Key West- Not a clue

Castaway Cay - Hopefully parasailing and the banana boat

Sounds like fun, we didn't do any excursions last time.
Also, as per Rae's reccomendations - I'm going to try out the spa.

Paul - I will get your info and plan to have you and Kaye (and her Mom) with us at brunch. This trip you get to meet my Mom!

Yes, the HULK movie was definitely not our beloved Hulk. Like I said, I could hear Bill Bixby turning over in his grave. Go see Seabiscuit - it looks wonderful!

We had late seating with Paul and Kaye during our December 2002 cruise - it worked out well because we could do more things and didn't feel the rush to stop and get ready for dinner.
I still prefer early and so does Mom, so we are on early for that cruise.

The Rainforest is wonderful, but do it day by day and forget trying to save money since it was broken and closed several times during our last cruise (May).
Rae

Rae - Just let me know what information you need and when. We'll love having brunch with you all!

We're on the late dining right now, but hope to get on early. Mostly just to make sure Kaye's mom gets to eat at the same time she usually eats. Less disruption there the better. But, if we dine late we'll make appropriate adjustments. Either way it's always nice to know other DIS'ers with the same dining to sit nearby.

When we booked the cruise, we wanted an aft cabin, and the only cat 6 they could get us was "behind" the navigator verandahs. These have the full wall balconies. :(

Well, I've called DVC everyday since we've booked, trying to get our cabin location changed, and today it finally happened! We're still aft, but now we're forward of the navigator's, so we have the plexiglass (see thru!) balcony! Yah! :p

Plus we're actually a little closer now to my DH's parents, who are in a cat 11.

Now, if we could only get the early dining, (we're on the waitlist too!)

Oh, Carolyn1023, we're looking at the 730am Stingray Snorkel too. Just me & DH. Our DD will stay on the ship with her grandparents. If they want to go touring later, that's fine. But we're not bringing the baby on the tender. No way!

Anyway, just had to share my happy news with you all.! :Pinkbounc

Poohbush - Good for you! I just love the verandahs - and in my opinion, they are much better than the Navigator's verandah since children can see through the plexiglass.

It might be more difficult to get on that Main Dining list - always popular. BUT things do happen!!

Now start thinking about costumes!

Rae

Wow, what a long thread - don't know if I have enough time until October 25th to read through it all!

Anyhow, add us to the list, I just booked us for this cruise with DVC points. Traveling are:

Myself
DW
DS - just turned 16 in June
DD - just turned 3 in February, and can finally go to the kids clubs! Hooray!

DS is returning from a 3 week trip to France with 17 other students tomorrow evening, he just called from Paris, and I surprised him by telling him about the cruise in Oct.!

We can't wait, and are wondering because:

- We have not done the Western cruise, so that is new for us
- Halloween - what fun stuff will be happening on the cruise for the kids?
- and overall, just can't wait!

We have booked a Cat 5, midship. Were used to the Cat 4 on the last several crusies, but just did not want to give up the extra points.

See you all there!
:)

WELCOME ABOARD!!!! Jhalkias,

Your in for a real treat.

A trick-or-treat that is ...LOL

There will be T-ot-T'ing aboard for kids of all ages. Also costome parades and contest. Lots of parties and loads of fun. When you get your docs there will be a note in them telling you a little more about the Halloween Cruise.

I am organizing a TorT for our children, do you think your 3 year old would be interest? The children will be going to the staterooms of those folks who have posted on this thread that they would interested in particpating. In the past we have had a great response to this event and all the children loved it. If your interested send me a PM with your childs name and your stateroom number, also if your stateroom will be one that the children can visit. We do this as a group, it take about 45 minutes. No one has to be waiting all that time in your stateroom for us to come by because we'll give you a minute to get ahead of the group to open the door. LOL

WOW!!! Paris at 16, what a will traveled young man.

Get your costumes made and pack up some goodies. Remember no knives, swords, sharp objects or guns.
Maybe they'll let you upgrade at the port for cash.

BTW - this will be my families 3rd Halloween Cruise aboard the Magic.
Nice move Poohbush. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Alot of late diners, we surely won't be alone...will we. If your stuck with late seating and you really want to keep that "at home schedule" there's always Topsiders for dinner. DH and I love it, no need to get dressed up they'll take you in shorts or jeans and with kids. The food is great, as is the service. We do try to remember to take a little cash along for a tip though it's not necessary.

Well all it's getting late and I've had a long week. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Jhalkias, Welcome aboard! This is our first Western as well, but our 3rd Disney cruise! Hope your DD enjoys the clubs. I've heard great things about them, and that it's sometimes hard to pull them out, as they usually have so much fun!

Before the baby, we loved late dining. So much less of a rush. Her bedtime is usually 7:30 - 8:00pm, so eating at 8:30 (starting) is going to be difficult. We love eating in the main dining rooms, I'd hate to miss too many nights eating elsewhere (whether it's Topsiders or room service.) Plus DH & I have to have one dinner at Palo's (grandparents will be on baby duty that night!) :D Oh well, we'll figure something out!

Tina

Welcome - Glad to have you along!!! Very interested to hear about how your son enjoyed Paris. We lived in Europe for a while and have travelled there since.

I will put you on our list and you can check back in a few days to link up to the current list and get an idea of our group! We do have a nice sized one!!!

MY NEWS:

We bought a 6 year old sorrel quarter horse gelding today! Michael named him "Red Raptor" and he's a very gentle, responsive horse. Will be hard to not go over to the stable everyday to see him though!!!!! Michael wants to bunk with him!

Rae

Welcome aboard (I know it's already been said about 6 times but welcome anyway)

Rae-Your horse sounds lovely! As soon as you get some photos I want to see!

Emma - did you ever get my eval of the second part of your story?
Let me know.

Yes, "Red" is a very lovely animal and we are getting ready now to show him to Tom. Can't wait to get the pictures developed!

Rae

Rae, Michael should be a pro rider by the time we cruise. I hope all the stuff associated with being around a stable does not affect Michael's asthma.

Wow Rae! Wonderful! I am not a horse person my self! LOL I have been on a horse exactly 3 times my whole life, and all three times they threw my off! But they are exquisite animals!

I am thinking of inviting some of my family to come with us on the cruise. Since we have 2 staterooms booked and they are only 5 of us going, we have room for 8. I called DCL and they said each additional would be 443.77! Gee I'm jealous, if someone offered to let me go on a 7 night DCL cruise for less then $500 I'd be right on that! LOL Unfortunately my family doesn't get the whole Disney thing, so I will be surprised if they come! Another plus is that if there is another adult traveling with us, we can upgrade to a different cat room for one of the rooms, and not have to worry about having connecting rooms. But we will see :-)

We went to see Charlies Angels last night :Pinkbounc I wanna be an Angel:jester: If you enojyed the first movie you will like this one as well.

Ginger - no problem with asthma there, but as soon as he lies down at night or when we entered Church (incense) or someone is burning -----the kid coughs til he starts to vomit. Just awful. We see his MD on Wednesday and I hope he can get another medication that will help him.

Emma - I'll redo it because I want you to continue on this - you are an excellent writer! And take it from me, I would be honest if you weren't because it wouldn't be fair to you or honest of me!

Dneprincess - I love this stable and the crew there - excellent and very safety conscious. Michael can not ride "Red Raptor" anywhere but in the corral for 30 days, then as he and Red get it together, they move on to other things. I couldn't be more pleased with that. There are 90 acres with trails!
Tom came out riding with us today......do you hear a 3 horse family?????

They really don't get the value of the cruise do they?! Wow! You wouldn't have to ask a DIS person twice would you?!
Charlie's Angels ====Maybe!

Rae

Rae - Wow! Your new horse sounds wonderful. Don't tell my DDs though. I can't even get a dog right now (ha ha). Good luck with Red.

Thanks Carole! My Mom asks me now "Is that all you are going to talk about?" Well............yeah!

The news about Fidelio has me upset. Michael is so looking forward to seeing him and playing for him in the kid's talent show in August - I just don't know what we are going to do ....but I am going to wear my Fidelio Fan Club shirt and start changing "We Want Fidelio".......no offense to those new piano players, we just want our Piano Man at the keyboard!

Rae

Rae, Red Raptor is a neat name. Where did Michael get that from? Sounds like a great name for a comic book hero!

dzneprincess, how could other members of your family possibly refuse? And for less than $500.00. Just doesn't seem right! Rae's right, we'd all be "chomping at the bit" (a little horse humor for Rae!) on that one!

I started calling him "Red" then Michael said we needed a "bigger name"....so it started "Red Sky", "Red Thunder" then all of a sudden he said, "I got it! Red Raptor! You know like the ones in Jurassic Park!"

Considering he named our cat "Mr. Bumpy" after the claymation tv show "Bump in the Night".....are you surprised?!
