Any Luck with Southwest Refund Lately?

Anyone have any luck lately with getting Southwest to refund change in fare to your credit card? Because of Ding! fares both of our flights went down in price and I now have over $500 in credits and no time to use them before they expire. Also, what do folks know about getting a six month extension to use the credit? I have heard there are restrictions but no details were given. Just looking for some encouragement, suggestions, hope!

Call SW Customer Service, my sister did this a few months ago. She explained she had a trip planned in August but her refund expired in December, they extended her refund. Generally they will accommodate you if they know you have a trip planned in the near future.

I had our Spring Break flight from Indy - Orlando booked on SWA, but I found a much cheaper flight on NWA (less than half the price), so I cancelled our SWA flight. My ticketless travel funds were set to expire 5/15/07 and I knew the next time we would be flying would be 6/07. I called SWA CS and asked about a refund. I was told I could not get a refund, but they could send me "LUV" vouchers (for the amount of our tickets) that had a 6 month expiration date extension (11/15/07). This will work out for us, but I really would have rather had a refund to my credit card. Now, if only SWA would release June dates!!

I have a LUV voucher because I asked for a six month extension on my ticketless travel funds. I'm not aware of any restrictions on it for travel. It's a piece of paper with a voucher # and a security code on it. It says on the back that it's non transferable and can not be replaced if lost and must be used by the date of expiration or the amount will be forfeited. All the things you'd expect to be on it, there's nothing saying that you can't use it during holiday periods or anything like that.
