Any luck with National ID's and Coupons codes

I have my ressie booked with the 67 code and coupon and got a great rate. I just checked this thread again and see some have mentioned something about getting a 2nd driver free? How do I go about doing this? Thanks so much:goodvibes

Second driver free is automatic for Emerald Club members....you can sign up for free (I think it is/was $50) through the Mousesavers site.

Just to let you know though....I could not get the good rates (57/67 codes) to work through the Emerald Club log in page......I had to really play around with the web site and I have a printout that shows my reservation and my emerald club membership.....and I am hoping all goes well......

:tink: TinkerBelltoo2 and teevah Thank you for letting us know that all went well for you in your rentals with the codes! There have been enough people that are reporting that they haven't had any problems with their very recent rentals that I am totally relaxed :hippie: about my rental in June. (and anyone else's!) that I will be unsubscribing from this thread! But, as a courtesy I will post of my rental experience after July 1st!

Ta-ta!:thumbsup2 :drive:

Just to clarify-spouses are free with EC members; not just any additional driver. Don't want someone going with their SIL, cousin or friend, etc. and be angry at the gate cuz they're being charged.

Anyone know what year the Impalas or similar full size cars are? Are they newer? Because the newer ones are smaller than the ones a few years ago I believe Just want to make sure of the fit. 2A and 3 kids - but 2 of the kids are already 5'4" and 100lbs each -- so small adults. And 1 piece of luggage each....

I hope the cars aren't a few years old. I would recommend a minivan. There's plenty of seating room plus you'll have at least 5 bags, unless the kids don't mind holding a bag on their lap for the drive from MCO. We have done this in the past just to cram into a convertible but we have 2 kids and they were really small then (7 & 4)

Good luck everyone!!:drive:

Thank you for posting the 57/67 codes. I've just shaved $100.00 off next month's rental vs Alamo. Just to be safe, I am not canceling the other just yet. Thanks again:thumbsup2

Just so you know I also did my back up at Alamo. Did you use the TZPROMO code? I used that and an entertainment coupon and it wasn't TOO bad (mini van).

Not having to go to the counter is just one less interaction where you may be questioned about a code. The agent at the gate may also question you. I have had gate agents request my AAA card on occasion and always for my coupons if I forgot to attach it to the reservation in the past. (Keep in mind I use various agencies across the country for business travel with 50% in MCO. ) But your odds of being questioned have definitely decreased by being able to avoid the counter. I only saw one post recently about a renter being given a hard time with the Visa code. Everyone who has been using the Travel Solutions codes of 57 and 67 have not had any issues so far. Hopefully, they don't catch on to it in the near future and everyone continues to have success! Good Luck!:)

Is there a chance they know people are using this code and they don't care?:confused3 I mean they have to be doing good business with it.

Also, you guys are starting to wig me out about the counter. I am using the code in FT Myers in two weeks and in WDW in September. I ALWAYS go to the counter because I just don't know any better.....

I used the Costco code & coupon, SUV 2 weeks for 323.xx. National gave a mid size for 220.xx. Keeping all digits crossed:goodvibes

FYI - used the 67 code and $30 coupon last night - no problems. Returning the car on Monday and don't anticipate any issues. So happy to be here!:thumbsup2

If I pick up car on Sunday 12:30am and return car the following Friday 1pm, what coupon works with 57 or 67 codes? My 6-day rental doesn't qualify for their weekly $30/$35 off coupons because I'll pick up car on Sunday 12:30am. I just signed up for free Emerald Executive, new to National. Any advise? Thanks.

I'm using NF1982JDD for $30 for my 5 day rental starting this Saturday.

Thanks shoes99, have fun on your trip :thumbsup2
My problem is that coupon doesn't work because I pick up car on Sunday 12:30am and will return Friday 1pm (not renting saturday night). Wondering what would happen if I book it for pick up on Sat 11:30pm, but actually be an hour late to pick up on Sun 12:30am, will they still apply the coupon when we pickup car? Our flight gets in around 12am Sunday.

Has anyone used the 57 code picking up at the Dolphin?? any problems?? Thank You

both *57 & *67 appear to be TS codes. here is our experience, from a few pages back:
booked a compact for 7 days, using *67 code & $35 coupon, p/u & d/o at the dolphin for a grand total of $79
national clerk said, "oh, this is a travel solutions code" to which i simply answered, "yes" & smiled (tho i prob had beads of sweat covering my face & fear in my eyes ).
but he didn't say anything further.

and we rec'd a free upgrade from the compact to an SUV!! :woohoo: (i think $79 total for an SUV for a week has the be the absolutely best amazing incredible car deal we've gotten alllllll our years of travel!)

I'm kind of hoping we get the same luck at Dolphin. I would pay to upgrade to a bigger vehicle, but the $35. coupon washes out, so the compact is a fabulous price.

Has anyone explained yet why the coupons get washed out for certain vehicles?

But I canceled the 67 code because I was afraid .... knowing my luck they would ask me for ID or something else...

So I went on to Hotwire and I got a car for 9.95 a day and it is at the airport counter... so I am paying 2.00 more but its ok...133.00 vs 131.00

I just want my vacation to be great and no problems...:cool1:

That's a great rate thru HW. May I ask what your dates are? I've had great luck with HW for hotels but never used them for rental cars.
What company did you get for your car?

We've now decided to reserve an 8 passenger van instead of the 7 passenger one at Nat'l. Are these in 2 seperate aisles, since we are paying to upgrade I don't want to end up with the smaller 7 passenger van.

TIA!!:goodvibes :flower3: :goodvibes
