Any luck with National ID's and Coupons codes

Hi-

Wondering if anyone has any experience with these codes out of Chicago O'Hare. I'm using the 506... one with a backup of the 67 code with a friend. Are there any places that it has NOT worked??

Thanks!

Wow, using the 67 contract ID and the ND coupon, I just got a week in Orlando in December for under $100!

I am not sure how, but I am now completely confused.
I used the 67 along w/the $35 coupon code and got $157 for 10 days at wdw. It subtracted the $35 coupon just fine and adjusted the rate accordingly.

On my emerald club membership i specified compact as I usually travel with the girls alone but thought I'd see what came up using a midsize to be able to pick from the aisle.
When I do that it accepts the 35 coupon and denotes it in the tally breakdown as "coupon accepted (35.00)"
but on the very next line it then says "coupon accepted $35.00" which cancels out the discount above.
The difference between the midsize and the compact was only $20 on the screen but equals $55 when I am finished for some odd reason.

To check it I entered SIL's dates and chose a minivan. Her rate came back as the "coupon accepted (35.00)" but under it was "coupon accepted $20.76" so it isn't taking all of that one back but most of it.
If it's accepting the coupon and subtracting on line above why is it billing the same $35 back again on the next line?
Is it something to do with my EC preference settings perhaps?
Anybody have an idea of what am I doing wrong? TIA

No . . . you aren't doing anything wrong. We are all encountering this - and none of us know why. I am Executive Aisle and I really would like to get a full size vehicle for my upcoming June trip, but when I try to book a full size vehicle it cancels out the $35. coupon, costing me significantly more than a compact. I will stick with the compact (just my DS and I) and hope for a decent upgrade when I get there. ::yes::

Edited: I should add I am going in December and was able to book the full size car (at a mid-size rate) and the entire $35. was deducted. Apparently it's a timing issue.

Try using an Entertainment 2 class upgrade, booking a compact with upgrade to full size.

You have to book midsize or higher to pick from the emerald aisle right?

Can anybody give me an idea of what vehicles they've seen there at MCO recently?

But Dan, if I do that, I can't use the $35. coupon, right??? :confused3 For me - it's a better deal to book the compact with the $35. coupon. :)

We used the 67 & the ND coupon on a 8 day rental out of Orlando for a compact car. I honestly couldn't tell the difference between mid-size & compact. By-passed the counter, picked out our car & we were on our way without a single question. Forget to mention that the car Chevy Cobalt had XM radio & only cost $105 total. Yippie to that.

I would like to thank whomever first posted the discount rate for National car rentals.

We traveled to WDW this past weekend with our extended family and I chose to rent a minivan during our stay. The best rates I could find were for 223.00- Friday thru Monday. Using the National discount ID 8572987 along with the coupon code ND35, I was able to reserve the minivan for 99.00

The agent at the gate didn't ask any questions in regards to the discount code and never asked for the printable coupon I had.

A great big thanks to everyone who shared this info.

Ed

Just booked 6 day rental car at WDW for $79.00 total and insurance included!
Sorry for the double post computer froze up
:cool1:

:dance3:

I used the 67 code over memorial day weekend at a tiny little airport in upstate NY which only had a counter and one employee! Our flight got canceled so I didnt arrive on fri night but sat morning instead. Not only did the code work, my cost was adjusted down to 3 days instead of 4 when I got my receipt online. Now THAT is good service.

Arriving at MCO 6/18 to 6/24 just started looking for a rental. My computer is in my old house until 6/3 :( then i will have it at home. Looking for a good deal. thanks

Does anyone else feel like I do that National knows about the code and doesn't care. I mean maybe it is increasing business! Profit in the long run.

I had that feeling. Maybe they feel if folks are avoiding all other rental agencies and coming over to them they are aquiring new clients.

This idea is the whole basis of how Hotwire works. Hotels don't mind letting empty rooms being booked at a cheaper rate in hopes that you'll like the place and return. I know it worked for us when we got the Hyatt MCO for only $59 + tax. I loved the convenience so much, I booked it directly thru Hyatt for 2 more trips.
Maybe National knows people just want a good deal and if they can pull customers from Budget and Dollar, their cars won't be parked in the garage unused.
