Any luck with National ID's and Coupons codes

Many thanks to "Laurabelle" for directingme to the National codes. Our party needed 2 cars for our March Break 14 day rental and the rates for a compact went down from $500+ to $343.07 including the supp. insurance etc.

They said that you just go to the kiosk in the garage and they will add your spouse for free. (Of course, they have to qualify, no record, 25+, same address.)

Ok, the magic VISA code for our rental worked just fine - no questions at all. The amount on our copy of the bill was exactly as stated on the reservation.
Sorry it took me a few days to get on the internet to let you all know. If there are any changes when we return the car- and we got a 2 car upgrade since they had non of our compacts left at 11 pm Thurs night - I'll let you know when we get home.

That is great news!! I did have a question. My hubby is a member of their Emerald Isle program and when he went to add me as an additional driver, it show a fee of $9.99 a day. I thought I had read that spouses are included at no additional charge. I am wondering if we need to go to the counter, or can this be done at the Kiosk or garage area.

I just picked up a car at the St Pete airport using this code. Since the don't have an EA, I went to the counter to check in. They printed my contract exactly as it stated on my reservation. With the $30 off coupon I am paying $177 for 7 days. This is 1/3 of what my first reservation was. I am very happy with this rate. I will report back once I get my final charges.

When I put in disc. code 8572987 , National's website says this code is not found. What am I doing wrong?

Try putting the code in the Contract ID.
You should first click on "Specials to go" and then click on the special you want. By doing that, you should receive a coupon code which will appear in the coupon id section. Then, put your dates in and then place the 8572987 in the Contract ID section. You should get the rate.

I did just that and get the error message "Specific day of week overnight requirement missing for coupon NF1982JDD." Am I doing something wrong. It was $240 for a full size. I saw a full size at Dollar for $177.

Thanks for the Visa code!! I punched it in with this contract code instead of my other one I originally booked with and it dropped $220 off of my original quote!!! Am I correct in thinking that all I have to do is pay with my Visa for the rental (code 8572987)??? National is more expensive this year, but with that code we have dropped from $660 to $440 for a minivan for 10 days ... I know it is still a bit more, but I like just picking up my car and going ... the extra days are always the killer!!

What I have been reading is that you do not have to use a Visa card. It will work with any card presented.

I think that to use this coupin you must keep the vehicle over a Saturday. Below are the terms of the code: "Offer valid at participating locations. Weekly rate requires five day minimum rental with Saturday night. Valid for new reservations only. Coupon cannot be applied to existing or previous reservations and may not be combined with other discounts. One coupon per reservation".

$177 is exactly what I got for a 6-day rental through National. You have done pretty good. Happy traveling!
