Any luck getting FCC to also cover someone else’s fare?

I had booked a solo cabin on one of the cancelled cruises so I now have the FCC “attached” to my name. I haven’t rebooked yet but know a friend has been wanting to cruise and considering splitting a room with her. However that would mean my fare basically gets cut in half (and I still have lots extra leftover on the FCC) while she still has to pay the amount. Has anyone gotten DCL to extend that FCC over to a new passenger in a room? Just trying to figure out my possible options.

We inquired via agent and DCL directly and were told no. But that was months ago when it first came out. Would also be curious if DCL is now flexible. This is why we took the cash.

Believe thenFCC can also be used ship board accounts. so your Board spending and Ports excursions are then covered if you have tons Left over

Could you book as a solo and then add her in later once it is paid? I don’t know if that would work, but it’s a thought.

This is what I was wondering. Then, if they don't refund the FCC in exchange for her part of the fare (which is understandable, I think), then (if you have that kind of friendship), she could pay you for her half (& taxes/port fees if they end up getting taken from your FCC).

The FCC is attached to your name but you should be able to use as much, or as little as you want for a new or existing cruise. For example our family of 4 had FCC for each of us. I used some of the FCC from 2 of us for a deposit on a new cruise, some from 2 others for a deposit on a second, and still have some left over then to go toward the final payment for either. So as long as you are on the reservation you should be able to pay for the entire thing with FCC if you wanted.

Wow, I thought you could only use it on one cruise and that was it!

I did exactly what you are asking. solo cruise that booked for May cancelled, rebooked for next year with a second passenger added. FCC covered 100% of our total with a bit left over to use as obc.

Awesome! I'll be able to keep that in consideration for rebooking!
