Just wondering if there were any Janet Evanovich readers here on the DIS. I just recently have gotten into her Stephanie Plum series, and LOVE it!! I just ordered "To the Nines" and can't wait to get it!! So if there is anyone else out there reading the series, which book are you on?

I am! I started the Stephanie Plum books at the beginning of the summer and am now all caught up. Now I have to wait for more to come out!

I like them, they are a quick read and are quite funny.

I LOVE Stephanie Plum books! I just finished Finger Lickin' Fifteen! They are the best books and I love to reread them too! Glad you discovered them!!!!!!

I love them! So fun!!! I have #15 on my Christmas list.
For you Janet lovers, you should check out this book

Not exactly the same (because I mean who could do the same as well as Janet right?) but really, really good!

I like them too! Read them all in about 2 months! Many nights I would bust out laughing while reading them before bed and wake DH up. He just doesn't get how a book can be funny enough to make you laugh :rotfl2:

I adore books 1 through 12.

I've read 13, 14, 15 and the in betweens --- but didn't really like them as much.

She is a fabulous writer when she's on though, lots of enjoyment.

I, too, have awoken my DH from laughing at the adventures of Stephanie Plum. :lmao: I enjoy this series for a good laugh and easy read. I've read them all except the newest book.

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who just suddenly bursts out in laughter when reading her books!!

Does anyone happen to know where "Visions of Sugar Plums", "Plum Lovin", "Plum Lucky" and "Plum Spooky" fit into the series? I didn't want to mess up the order in which I read them, but I wasn't sure where all these fit in, or does it even matter??

None of the In Betweens matter all that much in regards to plot continuity. There are a couple of minor spoilers in Plum Spooky vs the last book so you might want to read that before reading Finger Lickin' Fifteen.

But if you don't it really won't hurt anything.

one of them definitely matters (without giving anything away)
read them in this order:

One for the Money
Two for the Dough
Three to Get Deadly
Four to Score
High Five
Hot Six
Seven Up
Hard Eight
Visions of Sugar Plums
To the Nines
Ten Big Ones
Eleven on Top
Twelve Sharp
Plum Lovin'
Lean Mean Thirteen
Plum Lucky
Fearless Fourteen
Plum Spooky
Finger Lickin' Fifteen

I join the ranks of those of you who burst out laughing when reading Janet's books! They're just too funny!!!!

I don't have any friends in my life who would enjoy the naughty humor though. The one friend I thought might have liked the books passed away a few years ago, before I discovered the Stephanie Plum series.

Her books are an easy read & perfect to enjoy anytime! I got some at Half Price books; turned them back to get more & now I wish I would have kept them. One of these days I'll make a list of the books I still have & might scour the 2nd hand stores to collect the ones I'm missing.

Enjoy!!

Love Janet Evanovich books, especially the Plum series. Her books really are laugh-out-loud funny.

I love all of her books. She is an excellent writer.

I love the Stephanie Plum books! They are just laugh out loud funny! Don't you just love the grandmother? They are so easy to read. Can't wait for the next one.

I'd never heard of this writer until a few months ago. Someone gave my neighbor PLUM SPOOKY and she just couldn't get into it. She kindly offered it to me and I loved it. From what I just read above, I started at the end.

Plum Spooky is an in between the numbers book. It is not part of the Number Series but does have the same characters in it.

I think one thru 12 were the best.

ME!!! I am on Book 8 but I am going backwards.. I started with 15 lol. I listen to them on audio books, also just listened to plum spooky, plum loving and a few others. I am still waiting to get down the to the Ranger encounter:love:

If you have an ipod.. check to see if you can download them from free from your library.. Its even more hysterical listening to them. Lula is a hoot.

I absolutely LOVE Janet Evanovich books. They are just hysterical.
The part where they get attacked by dogs will just have me rolling on the floor.:rotfl2:
I have all the books and have re-read them several times. I can't wait to get my Kindle and put them all on there.

I think I'll get One and Two in paperback to take on my trip. I love these books. (mmmmm.....Ranger!) Grandma Mazur cracks me up...her Mom and the "reaching for the bottle"...Lula - great characters!

Thanks for that! I have them all & recently exposed a coworker to the dark side :rotfl: so was concerned I'd give 'em to her in the correct order.

I disagree a bit that the "tweens" stand alone. Had a few "what the heck happened with...???" moments when skipping the "tweens" (particularly Visions of Sugar Plums and Plum Spooky). So if you have the choice, read 'em all in order. :goodvibes
