I have a really ugly scar that runs the length of my left knee and is about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide. When I was 10 (25 years ago) I was playing football with a neighbor boy and we had placed a Tonka bulldozer at one end to mark an end zone. As I dove for a touchdown, me left knee landed on the shovel end of the bulldozer. I remember looking down and seeing that my pants leg was torn and was upset because they were new jeans, and I could feel something running down my leg, but didn't have any pain. When I looked in the hole of my jeans blood was just pouring out.
The boy's house was at the top of a hill, mine at the bottom. I sat "side-saddle" on my bike and coasted down the hill and pulled in front of my back door, my granny was in the kitchen making dinner and looked out and saw me and said "what have you done to yourself now?" So I opened my pants leg and showed her. She got all in a panic and told me to call my mom because I needed stitches, and that is when I began to cry. I had cut down to the ligaments but luckily hadn't done any damage to those. I just needed 30+ stitches to close my knee.
It really is an ugly scar, I think it kinda looks like a worm. It has faded a lot in the last 25 years but is still visible.
I have a small scar above my right eye from hitting my face on the corner of the coffee table when I was 2.
I have another small scar from 2nd grade. I was throwing a pencil in the air and trying to catch it before it hit the floor. I missed and it landed on the floor lead side up and I slammed my hand into and the lead slid across my palm. I also still have a pencil lead in the same hand from a separate incident involving a pencil in 2nd grade.
My husband has 1 on his lip from a wooden flower. He has epilepsy and during one of his seizures in our bathroom he knocked a bowl of wooden flowers on the floor and one of the flowers puctured his lip.
