Any interesting scars?

I have a really ugly scar that runs the length of my left knee and is about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide. When I was 10 (25 years ago) I was playing football with a neighbor boy and we had placed a Tonka bulldozer at one end to mark an end zone. As I dove for a touchdown, me left knee landed on the shovel end of the bulldozer. I remember looking down and seeing that my pants leg was torn and was upset because they were new jeans, and I could feel something running down my leg, but didn't have any pain. When I looked in the hole of my jeans blood was just pouring out.

The boy's house was at the top of a hill, mine at the bottom. I sat "side-saddle" on my bike and coasted down the hill and pulled in front of my back door, my granny was in the kitchen making dinner and looked out and saw me and said "what have you done to yourself now?" So I opened my pants leg and showed her. She got all in a panic and told me to call my mom because I needed stitches, and that is when I began to cry. I had cut down to the ligaments but luckily hadn't done any damage to those. I just needed 30+ stitches to close my knee.

It really is an ugly scar, I think it kinda looks like a worm. It has faded a lot in the last 25 years but is still visible.

I have a small scar above my right eye from hitting my face on the corner of the coffee table when I was 2.

I have another small scar from 2nd grade. I was throwing a pencil in the air and trying to catch it before it hit the floor. I missed and it landed on the floor lead side up and I slammed my hand into and the lead slid across my palm. I also still have a pencil lead in the same hand from a separate incident involving a pencil in 2nd grade.

My husband has 1 on his lip from a wooden flower. He has epilepsy and during one of his seizures in our bathroom he knocked a bowl of wooden flowers on the floor and one of the flowers puctured his lip.

I have one on my face from when I was a year old. I fell and hit right underneath my eye. Needed stitches... after Daddy was done with it we needed a new coffee table.

My brother has a good one. We went camping with my parents and it rained bad one night. Well my bro and his best friend had to go to the bathroom. On the way back they were chased by a stray dog. Brother fell into a ditch and sliced a huge chunk of flesh from his arm. He got lucky because the hospital they took him to had a plastic surgeon on duty that night also. So as a result he has a scar in the shape of a J which is the first letter of his first name on his arm right before his hand.

Yes I can, twice! The lip was the worst though. But it healed the quickest.

I have a nice scar I didn't include because it wasn't stupidity on my part. I was in preschool and a little kid shoved me down onto concrete. I broke the fall with my lip. I had to have something like seven stitches. I have a nice white scar starting at the bottom of my lower lip and going down my chin. I doubt any would know it is there unless I point it out. It's really only visible when I bite my lip. Thankfully I was young enough that I really don't remember the pain!

I have several small, flat scars on one arm from where I accidentally burned myself with a chemical while cleaning on a place of work one time.

Not from surgery, but from doing stupid things. :cool1:

I have 2 on my face, one from being a 5 year old and not realizing that running behind swings could be dangerous. I have a scar from 3 stitches put in my chin.

The other scar on my face is from when I was about 20 or 21. I was being a moron and running up the down escalator. I fell and cut open my lip and part of my chin. It seemed like fun at the time. :thumbsup2 I don't know how many stitches I got from that.

Now I know that everyone has knees that are full of old battle wounds (I can't even shave there without getting a cut) but do you have any interesting scars with interesting or funny stories?

I have several scars due to stupid things. The following incident gave me the majority of them.
Fell of the roof of a van and landed quite awkwardly, after a failed attempt to avoid a bottle rocket.

Oh, I forgot another scar story. I have a scar on my hand from when I burned myself with concentrated sulfuric acid. I worked in the chem labs in undergrad, and had to make a solution involving concentrated sulfuric acid, and put it into the organic chem lab, and then remove it at hte end of the day. I made the solution just fine, and at the end of the lab, I went to get it out of the lab. The students weren't so neat about using it, and dribbled the mixture down the side of the flask. I was wearing gloves, but it burned through the gloves. I put bicarb on it right away, and ran it under water, but it still burned.

I have a horizontal scar on my forehead, just below my hairline, from stumbling onto a school bus in 2nd grade. I hit my head on the corner of the step. The cut went all the way to the skull and I got a lovely concussion to boot. It really just looks like a wrinkle now.

I have a couple of very small scars on my right hand, from accidental scrapings against lava rock while snorkeling in Hawai'i.

Okay, sit right back and you'll hear a tale.....several actually. I have a scar on my eyebrow from where I was running with scissors(or toddling) and fell.(in my defense I was only 2.) Second big scar was when I was doing gymnastics in my tiny living room at the age of 7 and face planted into the coffee table.(7 stitches left cheek.) Third was somewhere around teendom when our window unit air conditioner fell out of the window and the corner caught my leg and scraped all the way down. Fourth was when I fell out of a car(it was not still moving but that's the first question I'm always asked) trying to hurry to class when I was in high school and tripped over the seatbelt and slammed to the ground with my ginormous backpack on and my legs still in the car and ripped the knee out of my favorite figure enhancing jeans(which I still wore to my mother's chagrin) and ended up with a big ol' nasty gash that took a month to heal.(Ironically enough I had just been praying I wouldn't be late again because then I would have had detention and thanks to the fall they cut me some slack. Be careful what you wish(or pray) for...) Fifth and probably the biggest doozy was early twenties when hubby was trying to teach me how to play golf. Well, apparently I was standing to close because when he swung the club he came in contact with the ball...and my head. It's funny to look back on now...not so much at the time. Parts of my ear(not the lobe) were, how do I put this delicately, hanging free:scared1: One ER trip and 8 stitches later I was put back together. I think some of my family still wonders about hubby's motives to this day.(side note hubby is the greatest guy in the world and is still horrified about it to this day. So I try not to tease him...well maybe just a little.) The funniest part were the docs comments. "At least you got hit in just the right place. 1 inch below and you'd have a broken jaw. 1 inch above and you'd be dead." And last but probably not least, I ran out of gas(which I can promise you has never happened again) and foolishly thought I could push my van out of the road up a hill and let's just say the van was stronger. When it started to roll away from me it took me with it. I fell and got dragged momentarily(scariest part was hearing the wheel go right past my ear) and ended up with some pretty bad road rash on my arm and leg. I know, pretty stupid, huh? Hence the reason I've never run out of gas again. And I've told hubby that if my car breaks down it is staying where it is. Middle of the road or not. Well, that's all. I think they're pretty interesting. I also think I have a guardian angel that needs to be paid double time daily.:rolleyes1

Also thought I'd mention my 4yr. old's maladies....He tripped on a rug when he was 2 and caught the corner of his open dresser and has a nice scar right smack dab in the middle of his forehead. When he was 3 his brother decided it would be fun to pop the recliner all the way back and let it fall....on his brothers head. The metal leg conked him in the head and now he has a nice scar on the top of his head.(Why do head wounds bleed so much more?) And last but certainly weirdest he had gotten up to get a drink of water in the middle of the night and had brought his little cup back to bed with him. He set the hard little plastic cup beside his bed and apparently picked that night to roll out of bed while asleep. We woke up to him screaming and tripped over each other running up the stairs. He landed on the cup with his eye. Luckily it just missed the eyeball but he has a scar in the shape of the lip of the cup just under his eye on one side and in his eyebrow on the other side. His eyebrow has not grown back where the scar is.(luckily it's pretty small.)

My son has one on his forehead (think Harry Potter) from leaning down to look at his toast and hitting the toaster oven door with his forehead.

Ok I will play too...
Scar #1..are tire tracks on my back. I was 3 and I was hiding under the car and my uncle ran me over...
Scar #2..I was 4 and I have a scar that looks like a 7 under my chin. I was playing at my aunts house and hit the corner of the counter.
Scar #3..on my forehead. I was 7 and we had just got done watching the Dukes of Hazzards. My friend & I tried to enter the cars through the window. Neither one of us ducked heads and we have matching scars.
Scar#4..inner thigh. My friend dropped a perfume bottle in the hallway at school. The class shattered and a piece flew into my leg.
Scar #5..3 years ago I was going to a wedding. I had changed my clothes in the car at the stop sign (ok so it was country roads). it was really windy. I got out of the car to get my shoes. It was SUPER windy. I went to get back into the car. I ducked down and the car door flew into my cheek. It almost went all the way through it. I had to drive all the way to the church to get ex-bdf. I walked in with blood gushing everywhere. It was so gross!!

i have a lightning bolt scar on my wrist, a triangle scar on my lip, four long scars on my thigh, one across my stomach, several on my arms, one shaped like a heart on my calf.

i'm walking scar tissue haha.

I have a scar on my forehead from falling out of the car when I was about 3.

My 1st in above my eyebrow. I was 5 or 6 and we were easter egg hunting in the front yard (around a water well with a metal top). I raised up from picking up an egg & sliced a nice inch open. There wasn't insurance on me, so I got a bandaid. My 2nd big one was in 9th grade. I was running to Biology class from outside and tripped from the grass onto the sidewalk. I busted my knee up pretty well but did hobble into class before the bell rang with blood dripping down to my socks, quite embarrassing. I was sent to the nurses office, which was UP the stairs and on the other end of the school, that hurt! All these years later, both are still very visible. Scars 3 & 4 were from c-sections, self-explanatory & hurt the worse!

I forgot to add my WDW related scar, it's on my leg. We were at TL in the wave pool when the photopass lady had the brillant idea to take pictures of us as we sat in the water. Hmm. Bad idea. When the next wave came, we went tumbling like tiny little pebbles in the ocean. I ended up with a bunch of scrapes down my right leg, she of course got some really good shots of me going head over heels....... :rolleyes1

oooh! I love funny injury stories!

Mine isn't a regular scar, but I have a chip missing from a front tooth due to a freak sleeper sofa incident. College kids having a squirt gun fight indoors :rolleyes1 , one friend on the open sleeper sofa, another friend and I decide to fold the sofa up with him in it. (hey, it seemed funny at the time! :rotfl: ) He kicks the folded section back up and the metal frame hits me in the mouth. The chip felt huge in my mouth, but when I spit it out I realized it wasn't too bad and then the dentist filed the tooth down a bit so it's not very noticable.

I have scar under my lower lip. I was told when I was 4 I was sitting on ball that was my older sisters.. she wanted it and knocked me off of it and into the corner of the tv stand I went.

When I was 15 I was putting dishes away and I dropped a glass. It hit the counter top, than dishwasher door than my foot. I have the scar left with the 8 holes from the stitches.

I have a HUGE scar on my inner thigh - I was 16 and trying to impress my bf at the time and I was raised on a farm and he wasn't - went to one of my friends houses and we were in the back pasture and wanted got back to the house fast so I thought i could JUMP the barbed wire fence  i stood on this log next to it and jumped when I did the log was dead and crumbling and it just gave way and i fell on the barbed wire and put a huge gash on my leg and I refused to let mom take me to the er - me and my darn Pride! :rotfl2:

My son has one on his forehead (think Harry Potter) from leaning down to look at his toast and hitting the toaster oven door with his forehead.

LOL, not a scar but I once had a student burn her bangs off that way, looking down into the toaster!

Interesting stories everyone! My friend has a big scar on her foot from where she was riding on the back of a minibike with her ex boyfriend. Her foot got caught between the fender and the wheel. They thought she would have to have a skin graft, but luckily it healed.

My mom has lead in her butt. Well not lead, graphite. She sat on a pencil someone had put in her chair in high school.

I have a lot of scars. I guess the best example of my ability to hurt myself is my right index finger. I have scars from a snapping turtle and a otter bite and one from cleaning a glass and it exploded, I got about six stitches from that. I lovingly call it my Frankenfinger.
